HCA Florida University Hospital: Natural birth with epidural, want to learn more about more about birth and not tearing

First time mom, high risk hospital birth, looking for affordable options for Doula not covered by insurance. Looking for education, advocacy and help with hospital birth and some help adjusting afterwards

This is my husband and I‘s first pregnancy and my first time giving birth. I am having some anxieties fears and worries for childbirth. I recently just moved from Georgia where my mother and family live and lacking that support and my husband and I agree we would love the support. We are under the care of OBGYN Associates in st Augustine fl we cannot afford over $2,500 over all. I am eager and hopeful to have a spontaneous labor with minimal intervention. I’m not opposed to an epidural, but I am very opposed to Pitocin and some other interventions that take place in a hospital birth setting

I am giving birth in a hospital , I have insurance but there dulas are no longer in my network , so my insurance told me to look for one and they will contact the dula to 100% cover my cost of a dula service

My goal for my birth is an unmedicated hospital birth. I’m looking for someone to help me prep for that as well as support me during labor. If there was a Christian doula that would be our preference but are open to anyone.

Less is more • IV cath in mid to low arm • No rushing labor • No manually breaking water • No pulling on placenta • Delayed cord clamping • Wait till cord is white soft pale and stops pulsing • I want to be able to get up and move (so no epidural) do not let me change my mind on this • Intermittent monitoring • No nurses touching unless necessary • Deliver placenta on my own.
