I am a mother of four and sister to seven. I have lived in the Seattle area for 15 years and I’m still surprised at the number of surfaces covered in large quantities of moss. I am a DONA trained and certified Birth Doula through both DONA and PALS. I bring my excitement and expertise to your birth, as well as my humor and deep sense of awe. It is my privilege to help you welcome a new member of your family.

I became a doula because I am passionate about creating positive and nurturing labor experiences for all. I want to make you feel empowered to follow your natural instincts throughout labor so you have a deep sense of pride and accomplishment when you are holding your newborn. I will support any choice you make about how you wish to labor. I believe that true empowerment is about your ability to choose what is right for your body.

Five years ago, I became a birth nerd. Long before my son was born, I found myself fascinated by fertility, pregnancy, birth, postpartum recovery, and breastfeeding. I couldn’t get enough—I was constantly reading, learning, and diving deeper into everything related to the childbearing journey. After becoming a mother, that curiosity only grew stronger. Rather than shifting my focus entirely to parenting, I felt drawn to deepen my understanding of birth itself. When my second child was born, I was grateful for all the knowledge I had gathered along the way—and the experience reignited my passion for birth even more. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of supporting many pregnant friends, offering encouragement, information, and a listening ear. Eventually, I realized that supporting families during pregnancy and birth was more than an interest—it was a calling. To further my knowledge and develop my skills, I completed one of the nation’s leading doula training programs at Bastyr University, approved by DONA International. Today, I feel honored to walk alongside growing families during one of the most meaningful transitions of their lives. My goal is to provide compassionate, evidence-based support so parents can feel informed, confident, and empowered as they welcome their baby into the world. ✨ Birth is powerful, and it is a privilege to be part of that journey.

My husband, of over 30 years, and I have three grown children. We are super excited to be living in Kitsap Co. again after being away for most of our married lives. As a certified Doula, postpartum doula and Childbirth Educator I enjoy all aspects of the birth process, providing kind, experienced support before, during and after labor. Hi, I’m McKenna! I’m a full spectrum doula providing birth, postpartum, and family support to folks in the Seattle area. I focus on meeting people where they are at and helping to optimize care and support that is tailored to each individual’s unique needs. I completed my initial doula training through Birthing Advocacy Doula Trainings in 2020 and have since completed an additional birth doula training at Bastyr as well as numerous other continued education trainings including Spinning Babies, a Lactation Educator training, and a Body Ready Method training.

Hello! My name is Alex Lanphear and I’m a birth doula based in Redmond, WA. I've been a caretaker and fiery activist since I could walk. I believe birth is the most magical thing in the world, and pride myself on being a guiding light for new families wanting to navigate the birthing path with confidence. I believe that parents deserve to feel the magic that empowered, informed birth can bring and strive to protect the peaceful, powerful energy of bringing a new life into the world. When I’m not with a family, I enjoy painting with watercolors, feeding the local crows, dancing under the moonlight and spending time with my cat.

My name is Liza Hameza (Schaefer). I’m a mother of 4, doula, educator, and podcaster who’s spent 15 years studying birth in the fields. What began as a personal story has grown into a lifelong calling. Since then, I’ve supported over 490 births in different birthing settings, guided hundreds of parents through childbirth preparation and the first tender months with their newborns. Alongside modern doula practices, I weave in the wisdom of postpartum traditions I’ve learned in different countries - Belarus, Ukraine, Germany and Cyprus - rituals that honor a mother’s strength and nurture recovery. In addition to my one-on-one work with families, I’m passionate about teaching and mentoring doulas worldwide. I lead specialized trainings, and have been invited to speak at international conferences on birth and parenthood. I also created Oxytocin World, a podcast that brings together midwives, anthropologists, psychologists, researchers, and doulas to share knowledge about birth, parenting, and relationships. I believe birth is more than a medical event - it’s a profound initiation for families, one that deserves care, respect, and continuity. My role is to walk beside you in that journey: grounding, encouraging, and offering both practical tools and emotional support. Outside of doula work, I feel most alive when cooking, practicing yoga, running, hiking in the mountains, or just being with my family. These everyday joys keep me grounded and remind me what truly matters.
