Hi, I’m Nicole! I was born in Houston but raised in Chireno, a small East Texas town just outside of Nacogdoches, and this area has always been home to me. For the past eight years, I’ve owned and managed a cosmetic store in downtown Nacogdoches, and before that, I worked as a CNA for three years. As well as a substitute teacher at a preschool for a year. Looking back, caring for and connecting with people has always been at the heart of what I do. My love for birth work really began after supporting my best friend during her birth in 2024, but watching my sister give birth alongside her doula in March 2026 truly confirmed that this was where my heart belonged. That experience inspired me to start The Nurtured Nest, where I provide birth and postpartum doula support to families in East Texas. My goal is simply to help families feel calm, informed, heard, and genuinely cared for during such an important season of their lives. Before nursing, I was a birth doula in the Sacramento area where I served families out of the hospital as a privately hired doula and also in the capacity of hospital volunteer doula, at some points. I am a labor/postpartum support serving families in the DFW area. My pursuit to maternal health education began six years ago when I experienced a homebirth of my third child. The following year, I supported a community member birth at the hospital and witnessed the differences between midwife facilitating brith at home and a midwife facilitating birth at a hospital.
