Hello there! I'm Marissa I'm a Birth and Postpartum Doula, a Somatic Birth Trauma Healer and trained in Closing of the Bones Ceremony. I'm located in Hamilton, Ontario. I have 3 sons- 9,4 and 1.5. I'm very blessed to have experienced a hospital birth, unassisted birth and a free birth. I've spent so much time unraveling the beliefs I held about birth so I could heal my birth trauma and have my dreams births, which I did! I'm so passionate in support Mothers in their journey of pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. I want ever Mother to stand in her power in her birth and birth the way SHE DESIRES. I realized that there are not enough supports for new parents, and I'm here to help change that! I offer in-home overnight support, lactation and infant-feeding support, infant care, and light housekeeping. I am always non-judgemental. My goal is to empower parents and give them confidence!

I believe every woman deserves to be cherished, heard, supported, and cared for after giving birth.  I received a lot of support from my own mother after birthing each of my 3 children. This has inspired me to use my own experience, and knowledge from my training, to offer a high level of loving support and care to others on their postpartum journey. Hi! My name is Ella and I am a birth and postpartum doula serving primarily the Hamilton, Haldimand/Norfolk, & Brantford areas. I have always had a passion for all things pregnancy, birth and babies. I found my passion for birth work while searching for my own doula for the birth of my son last year! I truly believe that birth can be a calm, peaceful experience with the proper education and preparation. In my free time I enjoy physical activity whether that be indoor or outdoors, family time and a good latte.

I’m a passionate and experienced parent who knows firsthand how magical - and sometimes overwhelming the newborn stage can be. I had a doula for my own births, and that experience opened my eyes to just how beautiful and capable the human body is. Hello, I’m Laporcha And Birth work was called to me after my mother passed away. In that moment, I realized she would no longer be there to comfort me, advocate for me, or welcome another child into this world by my side. She would never have the opportunity to be my doula. So, I became one. I became a birth doula for those who need to be seen and heard. For those who have lost their support systems. For those who fear they won't have the beautiful birth experience they dream of. For those whose voices have been silenced but whose hearts have so much to say. For those whose trauma feels louder than their strength. For those who struggle to advocate for themselves. And for the first-time mother who is terrified of walking into motherhood alone. I bring all of me into this work—my own birth experiences, my fears, my healing, my trauma, my gifts, my compassion, and my knowledge. Those pieces have shaped the doula I am today. My mother was the roots of our family. She was our safe place, our strength, and the one who nurtured everyone around her. Though she is no longer here physically, her love continues to grow through me. That is why I chose the name Mello Roots. I will water her legacy through every birth I attend. I will stand beside mothers the way she would have stood beside me. Every mother I support and every baby I welcome becomes another branch on a tree that continues to grow from love, resilience, and community.
