The cost of a midwife in Visalia, CA can be influenced by several factors:

  • Type of Midwife

Certified Nurse-Midwives (CNMs) who work in hospital settings may have different pricing than Certified Professional Midwives (CPMs) who attend home births or birth center deliveries.

  • Birth Setting

Hospital births with a midwife typically cost less out-of-pocket when covered by insurance, while home births and birth center deliveries may have different fee structures.

  • Scope of Services

Many midwives offer comprehensive packages that include prenatal visits, labor and delivery support, and postpartum care, which can affect the overall cost.

  • Insurance Coverage

California Medicaid covers certified nurse-midwife care in Visalia, including CNM-attended prenatal, birth, and postpartum services, as required under federal Medicaid rules. Coverage for home or birth-center care from licensed or professionally certified midwives depends on the Medicaid plan and does not extend to every member. Local choices are scarce, with two midwives listed within 60 miles of Visalia. For private insurance, review the plan’s maternity benefits and provider network before arranging care.

  • Experience and Specialization

Midwives with extensive experience, additional certifications, or specializations such as VBAC support or water birth may charge higher rates.

  • Geographic Location

Midwifery costs can vary based on the cost of living and demand for midwifery services in your specific area.

When considering hiring a midwife in Visalia, CA, it's advisable to research and interview several midwives to find one who aligns with your birth plan, preferences, and budget. Hi There! I’m Felicia Arevalo – Doula, Welcoming a new life into the world is one of the most beautiful and transformative experiences a woman can go through—but it can also be one of the most vulnerable. That’s why I’ve made it my mission to walk alongside mothers during this tender time, offering not just support, but presence, care, and genuine love. As a mom of four myself, I know firsthand how deeply overwhelming those early postpartum days can be. Whether it’s your first baby or your fourth, every journey is different—and every mother deserves to feel seen, heard, and nurtured. My heart is rooted in postpartum care. It’s where I feel called to serve the most—helping moms rest, recover, bond with their babies, and truly feel held as they find their new rhythm. I believe no one should have to walk this part of the journey alone. I serve with my whole heart in any way I can—whether it’s holding space, helping with baby care, providing resources, or just being a comforting presence in the quiet moments. If you’re expecting, in the thick of postpartum, or just need someone to talk to, I’m here for you. Let’s walk this journey together. Can't wait to hear from you!

Felicia was our post partum doula and what a lifesaver she was!! We have twin boys and post partum was not easy. Felicia showed up like Mary Poppins, willing to help in any way, she is knowledgeable about all things from mommy post partum stuff to the baby stuff you didn't know you needed to know. Further more, she is like a baby whisper-our boys instantly took to her and I never had to worry when my boys were being taken care of by Felicia! I literally sighed in review each time Felicia came over!! Oh ya-her lactation cookies are super yummy and worked wonders on my milk supply too!! I highly recommend Felicia for any birthing and doula assistance you may need(pre, birth +post)!

Packages from $75 · $100/hr

Heather Kleinhans is a faith-driven wife and mother. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Speech and Hearing Science from Arizona State University in 2010 and has worked in the therapy world, building her specialized clinical skills through continued education and service in efforts to support pediatric clientele with orofacial myofunctional and feeding disorders. She worked as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) in California for over 10 years, and in Arizona prior to that. Her passion was fueled by her own struggles with myofunctional and feeding disorders and her family’s experiences with delays and disorders. As a lifelong lover of learning and having seen firsthand how these delays and disorders impact quality of life for so many families, Heather continued her education and training as an Internationally Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), Infant-Toddler Feeding and Tethered Oral Ties Specialist to support families during the beginning of their life journey. Observing there was still a gap in support for families, she also became a (FDD) Certified Faith Driven Childbirth Educator and Doula with additional specialized (NDA) NICU Doula training and (C-ND) Certification. She is also a (CBWS) Certified Babywearing Educator/Consultant. Heather specializes in supporting a range of specific support needs, including trauma-informed care, support of those who are Neurodivergent or Disabled, and customized support for those impacted by stays in the NICU or pregnancy and infant loss. Heather firmly believes that new and growing families deserve evidence-based education, resources and ongoing support during such a foundational and vulnerable season. She considers it a privilege to be a part of their team, helping to alleviate stress and allowing them time and support for healing, connection, joy and developmentally aligned support during this beautiful season.

Hello My name is Marlene Solorio I fully and wholeheartedly trust that you can give birth naturally, because GOD designed women and babies to work together during birth. You are a powerful human and GOD designed you perfectly. So deep down inside you know exactly what to do. I love helping moms find the confidence to birth autonomously through education and empowerment. After my 3 unnecessary cesareans, I decided to become a doula. When I found out I was pregnant with my 4th I told myself I was going to have a natural birth, even though every doctor and midwife in my area told me I couldn't. And boy did I prove them wrong with my VBA3C. So that's why I'm here, I want to help you have a beautiful empowering birth like I did. I know it's possible because I just did it!

I reached out to Marlene a few months before my planned July birth. She was wonderful from the beginning, providing me with information and also supporting my personal choices with the birth. In the end, I had to have an induction due to unforeseen medical issues. Marlene was responsive via text, which I appreciated and was necessary as the baby came within 24 hours. It was late when I texted her that the baby was coming, and thankfully, she responded right away. She came quickly and was there for the active labor portion of the birth. I appreciated her support and advocacy very much. Afterward, she provided postpartum support, which was invaluable as it allowed me time to catch up on sleep. She also created a beautiful artprint of my placenta and also created a resin umbilical cord ornament that will be a treasured memory for years to come. Marlene is wonderful, and I highly recommend her.
