Hi, I’m Joy, a birth and postpartum doula and pediatric sleep consultant with advanced lactation training. I support families through pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and beyond with a calm, practical, judgment-free approach. As a mom of four grown children and a grandmother, I bring both professional training and decades of hands-on experience with babies and families. During pregnancy and birth, I help you feel informed, prepared, and confident in your choices, while providing steady emotional and physical support throughout labor. After baby arrives, I can continue supporting you through postpartum recovery, feeding, newborn care, sleep, and adjusting to life with your new baby. My goal is simple: to help you feel supported and confident as you navigate this huge transition. When I’m not supporting families, you’ll usually find me spending time with my own family, traveling in our RV, hiking, biking, or exploring somewhere new.

After dealing with the 4-month sleep regression for over a month and a half, my husband and I decided to reach out to Joy. At the time, our son was barely sleeping overnight. He was waking every 30 minutes to an hour and refused to sleep in his crib or bassinet. After speaking with Joy, she created a detailed, personalized sleep plan specifically for our son. To our amazement, after just one night, he was sleeping through the night with only one wake up to feed. I was so nervous about sleep training because I thought it would be stressful and heartbreaking, but it was the complete opposite. The process was much easier than we expected, and the results were truly life-changing for our whole family. Joy was incredibly supportive every step of the way, always available to answer our questions and provide reassurance. I can’t recommend her highly enough. If you’re struggling with your little one’s sleep, she is absolutely worth it!

Hello! My name is Molly, and I'm a career nanny and Newborn Care Specialist with over seven years of professional childcare experience caring for children from newborns through school age. I genuinely love being part of a child's growth and helping families create a calm, nurturing, and well-organized home. Throughout my career, I've cared for newborns, infants, toddlers, twins, and school-aged children in a variety of households, including high-profile and ultra-high-net-worth families where professionalism, discretion, and adaptability were essential. My experience includes establishing newborn routines, supporting developmental milestones, planning engaging educational activities, assisting with homework, traveling with families, and providing thoughtful family assistant support. I'm currently completing my degree in Early Childhood Education, which has strengthened my understanding of child development and allows me to bring both warmth and intention to my caregiving. I believe children thrive when they feel safe, respected, and encouraged to explore the world around them. Whether we're reading books, creating art, spending time outdoors, or working on age-appropriate learning activities, I strive to make every day engaging and meaningful. Families describe me as calm, dependable, proactive, and easy to communicate with. I take pride in building trusting relationships with both children and parents, maintaining open communication, and anticipating a family's needs before they're asked. My goal is always to become a reliable, long-term partner who helps make daily life run more smoothly while providing exceptional, loving care for the children. Thank you for taking the time to learn a little about me. I look forward to the opportunity to support your family and become someone your children feel safe, happy, and excited to spend time with.

We called Erica when we were extremely desperate with our colicky newborn. We needed help not only medically but also mentally and emotionally. Erica came to our house and explained to us everything pertaining breastfeeding, checked our baby and took her time to explain to us a lot of things we needed to know. As first time parents, the birth of a child is a difficult journey, but Erica was patient, caring, and answered every one of our questions with easy to understand language and walked us through how to navigate our new life. When Erica left our house, we had peace of mind, we felt understood, cared for, and our burden stopped being so heavy. She was the first person (even before her pediatrician) to suggest that our forever crying baby had reflux, and from that day on we were able to treat her accordingly. I cannot recommend Erica enough, the only thing I regret, is not having called her sooner.

Britt Sando

I’ve been working with childbearing families in northern New Jersey for many years, and I strive to bring the knowledge and experience I’ve gained to each of my clients. My great joy is helping people find their own path, and trying to make it more comfy along the way.

Recent review

When I contacted Britt, I was 12 weeks pregnant with my first baby. I really desired to have a relationship with my doctor, but since most OBGYN practices have you seeing multiple professionals, I was not getting that. I was desiring to go the natural birth-in-a-hospital route and hearing other friends’ stories, a doula sounded like the perfect fit. Britt was recommended by one of my friends who had Britt attend and help at all three of her babies’ births. Britt offered us a birthing course in our home, she gave us literature and resources to use an practice as we anticipated our first birth, she was ALWAYS responsive when texted or called, was informed about alternatives such as the Fresh Test, and she was a great help and encouragement to my husband pre-birth, during labor and delivery and after birth. Britt knew what I wanted - when we got to the hospital and we were almost put into a room without a tub, she was there ADVOCATING for us (since a tub room was available and it was my hope to labor in one). Britt is levelheaded, intelligent, witty, and has an excellent sense of humor. She tells it like it is. She is loving and compassionate - truly a gift from heaven. She checked in on me all throughout my pregnancy and after my baby was born. As she put it to me, “Once your doula, always your doula.” To put it simply, hire Britt as your doula. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

I will try to put into words the feelings I have, in an attempt to express my gratitude to Renée. Firstly, I would not have been successful without her. She believed in me, my body, my ability even when I questioned it. She knew what to do at every step- from our first conversation to the leading up to the birth, to actual birth & right after. Thank you for helping me at home as well. You just knew exactly what to do & coached me through it in a kind, gentle way (even when others were nervous you knew how to handle them too ;). Knew what to do to progress labor and when to move to hospital. I don’t know how Renée remained so present with me during the hospital delivery. A million people screaming at me- I focused on what she said. She just knew. 30 mins in L&D and baby was here. This was thanks to her cues. I would not have known what was happening without the cues Renée taught me. And after birth, helping us with immediate nursing & taking pictures!

If you wish to contact me and schedule an appointment, please visit my website https://thelaborlounge.org/contact/ Ines Serna is a mother, childbirth educator, and doula with a Master of Health Sciences in Public Health. She became interested in pregnancy and the birth process after having her first child in 2010. Shortly after, Ines started working for the childbirth education department at a prestigious Bergen County hospital, where she gained a great deal of knowledge about maternity services. After the birth of her second child in 2014, she decided to become a childbirth educator. Through her two birth experiences, she realized that the power of knowledge can have a positive impact on birth outcomes. While working as a childbirth educator at the hospital, Ines saw the necessity of giving additional support to her clients. She has trained with DONA International to obtain all the required skills to assist mothers during the birth process. Ines is dedicated to expanding her knowledge by attending maternal and child health conferences, seminars, and networking with health professionals in the community. Ines’s extensive hospital experience has allowed her to see and understand the need to continue advocating for patient-centered care. She believes a patient’s personal preferences, such as values, cultural traditions, family support, and lifestyles, must be taken into consideration. Ines is passionate about supporting expectant parents by making sure they understand that they have options before, during, and after birth. She firmly believes that EVERY woman deserves a good support network. A network that consists of health professionals, along with family, friends, and, of course, the support of a doula, is the greatest gift parents can experience in their lifetime.
