After graduating from the University of Maryland in 2014, I traveled around doing some mission work, met my husband while living in Maine and eventually we landed back in my hometown to start a family. I’m Chaya, a DMV native and proud mama to three beautiful children. Since beginning my student midwifery journey in 2021, I’ve come to truly appreciate the profound importance of ‘intrinsic’ birth. My journey started in nursing, with the aim of becoming a labor and delivery nurse. I earned my CNA license, NRP/CPR certification, and full-spectrum doula certification in 2019.
