We are so grateful for Stacey’s help. Our baby went from waking 7 times a night to sleeping through the night much faster than we ever expected. What stood out most was how personalized her approach was. Her recommendations were evidence based, but always tailored to our family’s needs and comfort level. As nervous first time parents, having Stacey check in with us nightly and help troubleshoot in real time made all the difference. We trusted her completely after working with her as our postpartum doula, and hiring her as our sleep consultant was one of the best decisions we made. Highly recommend!

Hi, my name is Kimberly. I am the manager of Gentle Beginnings LLC. I started my birth doula career back in 2020. I was a new mom and realized I had a passion for doula care and I decided to jump into it! Unfortunately, the pandemic made it quite difficult to attend births in person but that didn't stop me. Over the years, I learned many new families didn't just need a support person through birth but also for all the phases that followed. Currently I'm working towards my pediatric sleep consultant certification. My business partner, Evelyn, has 30+ years of experience as a nanny and newborn care specialist, and has recently been certified as a postpartum doula as well. We both decided it was time to start a new company that offered all the services! We look forward to helping you through any part of your journey as a new family and hope you choose us as your providers!

We are so thankful for Kim and her crew during those early months with our daughter. Even as a second time mom it is so helpful to have an extra set of seasoned eyes on your newborn. Our daughter was dealing with some gas issues. She was able to help us figure out what worked for our daughter. We adjusted her bottle and post feeding routine to help alleviate the gas. I also feel that they help lay the ground work for independent sleep which is such a blessing! We cannot thank them enough for the care they have provided for both of our children. If baby three ever happens, they will be our first call!

Throughout the 26-year journey of raising my sons, and being a nanny and caregiver, I have gained knowledge, skill and wisdom. I desire to teach, help and support new moms as they “find their inner mama”. I am there to teach new parents how to care for, soothe, breastfeed, read “cues” and feel confident and comfortable in the care of their babies. As a postpartum doula, my desire is for families to ease into the huge life change of adding a newborn as smoothly as possible, whether it’s their first baby or their fifth, since each child holds it own challenge, and the needs of families ebb and flow with a new child. My heart is to support families in a non-judgmental way in all their needs, whether it’s sleep, advice, holding the baby, helping the baby sleep, preparing a nourishing soup, folding laundry, helping you find resources in your local community, or just being a veteran mom who will listen as you process all the emotions of your transition into motherhood.

I don't know where our family would be without Rebekah's postpartum support! On a typical day, Rebekah will watch the baby while I get a good nap. She'll often cook a healthy snack or make dinner for us to reheat later. She is also a baby & breastfeeding expert and has so much knowledge to share. She has so many good tips about everything from nursing positions to diaper changes to managing sleep. Getting through this tough newborn phase has been so much easier with her guidance!

I am writing to highly recommend Luciana Gerrish as a Newborn Care Specialist. Luciana began working with our family when our son was 1 week old in the Summer of 2023. My husband and I were overwhelmed with caring for our new baby in addition to our 4 year old daughter, and Luciana stepped in and put us at ease immediately. We “clicked” right away, as Luciana was warm and confident. I could tell immediately by the way she picked our son up and spoke to him that she loved her job, which made it easier to go to sleep while she was looking after him. Luciana always arrived each night a few minutes before her shift started at 9 pm, so that we could fill her in on our day and she could answer any questions we had. We settled in to sleep knowing our son was in excellent hands. We trusted her fully and were able to sleep well because of this. In the morning, Luciana would either have the baby asleep for us when we woke up, or, if he was awake, she would be playing with him sweetly. Bottles were sanitized and ready for the day, and she shared a detailed recap of the prior night. Our 4 year old daughter loved seeing Luciana in the morning, and was jealous Luciana was only there for the baby because she was so kind to her! Having Luciana work with your family is like having a personal baby expert available to you, who can help you maximize sleep and feeding routines in a loving way. Getting sleep after a busy day with two kids was a gift, and she made it easy! She was with us for four months, and then our son was sleeping from 6:30 pm-6:00 am (we credit her with this great sleep), so we no longer needed her help. It was bittersweet to no longer see her each night, but we are so grateful for her loving care of our son. While Luciana’s impact on our family can’t possibly be summarized on paper, I hope you will infer how wonderful she is from this letter. Hiring Luciana was the best decision!

Hi, I'm Carrie-Lee! A Cape Cod based Postpartum Doula, Newborn Care Specialist, Lactation Educator, and Pediatric Sleep Consultant. Yes, all in one person. Most families piece together support from multiple providers. With me you get lactation help, newborn care education, sleep foundations, and postpartum recovery support all from someone who already knows your family. One person, fully invested in you. Supporting families has always felt like second nature to me, and after raising three incredible kids of my own, there isn't much that surprises me anymore. My oldest is up in Maine working on his off-grid yurt dream. My middle kid is a junior at Keene State fully immersed in theater tech. And my youngest spent her entire freshman year studying abroad at Berklee's campus in Spain and is now heading into her sophomore year in Boston as a vocalist doing exactly what she was born to do. Every single one of them came in with their own wild, wonderful personality and raising them is the best thing I've ever done. When I'm not up late with a newborn or navigating a 3am blowout, you'll find me camping, roller skating, gardening, canning, practicing archery, or slowly working my way toward conversational Spanish. I'm laid back, calm under pressure, realistic, and I genuinely love what I do. Let's chat and see if we're a good fit! We had an exceptional experience with Carrie-Lee. As first-time parents bringing our newborn home, having her support as our postpartum doula made an incredible difference for our family. From the moment we met her, Carrie-Lee was warm, kind, and immediately put us at ease. Her extensive knowledge and experience with newborn care were evident in everything she did, and we trusted her completely to care for our daughter while we caught up on some much-needed sleep. Knowing our baby was in such capable and loving hands gave us tremendous peace of mind. Beyond the practical support, Carrie-Lee was also an amazing teacher. We learned so much simply by watching her interact with our daughter and through the thoughtful guidance and advice she shared with us. She has a wonderful ability to share her expertise in a way that feels encouraging, approachable, and never overwhelming. Carrie-Lee is not only exceptionally skilled but also incredibly down-to-earth and genuinely kind. We are so grateful she was part of our postpartum journey and wouldn't hesitate to recommend her to anyone welcoming a new baby, including our own family and closest friends. She is truly an invaluable resource, and we feel incredibly fortunate to have had her support during such a special time.

I am a full-spectrum doula, offering support in reproductive health, birth and labor, and postpartum care in Connecticut and Rhode Island. I love doula work because I deeply value the one-to-one relationships I build with clients, walking alongside them during one of the most important and transformative experiences of their lives. My passion for supporting, educating, and empowering people giving birth comes from my commitment to addressing the maternal and infant health disparities that disproportionately affect Black women. My goal is to help all birthing people—especially Black women—feel confident, informed, and supported by: learning to trust their bodies, learning to trust themselves to make informed decisions and advocate for the birth experience they desire, and receiving culturally responsive, non-clinical emotional, physical, and informational support before, during, and after birth. It would be an honor to support you on your birth journey. I work collaboratively with you and your support team to create an experience where you feel confident, informed, and surrounded by care, love, and respect. I welcome you to schedule a free, 30-minute consultation to help us get to know one another, decide if we're a good fit and so that I can also answer any questions you may have. Heidi Terpening

27 years of experience

Hi, I’m Heidi Terpening, CFSD, BPCE, founder of Azure Coast Doula. I am a maternal-child health clinician with over 27 years of nursing experience supporting individuals and families across the full continuum of care. My nursing career has taken me through NICU, labor and delivery, postpartum recovery, maternal-child health, pediatrics, community health, and school nursing. In these roles, I have supported families through routine and high-risk pregnancies, medically complex births, NICU admissions, postpartum recovery, and the many transitions that come with welcoming and caring for a new baby. These experiences have given me a deep respect for both the clinical and emotional sides of perinatal care, and a strong commitment to evidence-based practice, patient advocacy, and family-centered support. Over time, I came to understand that families often need more than medical care alone—they need continuity, reassurance, education, and someone who can help them feel grounded during moments of uncertainty. This understanding led me to full-spectrum doula work, where I now combine my clinical background with continuous emotional, physical, and educational support. Through Azure Coast Doula, I walk alongside families during pregnancy, birth, postpartum recovery, pregnancy loss, NICU stays, and medically complex situations. My role is to provide calm, consistent presence and clear, evidence-based information so families can feel informed, supported, and confident in their decisions. I strive to meet each family exactly where they are, honoring their unique needs, values, and experiences without judgment. In addition to doula support, I offer placenta encapsulation, newborn education, and hands-on newborn care guidance. These services are rooted in my nursing experience and are designed to ease the transition from hospital to home, helping parents feel more prepared and confident as they begin life with their new baby. The name Azure Coast Doula was inspired by the calm strength and resilience of the Adriatic coast of Croatia—a place that reflects the energy I hope to bring into every family’s experience. My work is grounded in clinical expertise, steady presence, and compassionate care, with the belief that every family deserves to feel supported, respected, and never alone in their journey. It is an honor to support families through some of life’s most meaningful and transformative moments.
