Our experience with Liz was truly wonderful! With Liz, you will feel safe, heard, & held through one of the most important moments of your life. When we initially spoke, it was probably 2 minutes into the conversation when we knew she was the right doula. The call ended, my husband & I looked at each other & immediately said, "I LOVED her." Liz laid out everything that we should expect, & did it in a way where we didn't feel judged. Others had tried to convince us that we had unresolved trauma, or had made mistakes in previous births. Liz's trust in us knowing what we needed was so reassuring. During the pregnancy, Liz is there if you need her, checking in to see how appts. went, & getting a feel for your mindset approaching birth. Liz was vital in my ability to remain calm as my due date came, then passed by 9 days! We discussd ways to help encourage labor, different scenarios as 42 weeks approached, & reassurances that my baby & body knew what they were doing. Being a 3rd time mom I really thought I knew it all, but when things went so much longer than we all expected, I was so grateful to have Liz's calm & confident presence. At OBC, Liz arrived exactly when I needed her. She easily fit into the flow of labor offering assistance to me, & guiding my husband to help through contractions. Liz understands when to step to the forefront, & also when to hang back. Her experience & presence in the birthing space made me feel more supported & calm than I had previously. My labor was fast, but I never felt like I lost control. Liz took stunning photos during birth, capturing all of the phases of labor, recovery, & beautiful shots of the baby. The photos will be cherished by our family for the rest of our lives! Liz doesn't disappear after you're done having the baby. She checks in during your recovery at home, & even comes to visit. We loved working with Liz!

I met Jacquelyne and Sarah when I was 34 weeks pregnant with my son. Even though I was so far along, it felt like I had know them my whole pregnancy. We connected so well and they both made me feel like family. When i tell you they would do anything for their girls, i mean they would do ANYTHING for their girls. Even if it means coming over to massage you several times just because they know your body is aching and they want to help you rest better without you even having to ask them! They are so kind, gentle, honest, and generous with their time. They are so passionate about mommas and babies and it is so evident in every area of their lives. My birth didn’t go as planned, but they both comforted me and made me feel like I could do anything. even in the face of a mountain of fear. I couldn’t have done it without them. I am forever grateful for these beautiful women. I want them to be there for all of my babies!!! Also, RUN DO NOT WALK to having Sarah as your photographer!!! She is AMAZING! Every picture captures so much emotion and her editing is phenomenal!

I have been so lucky to hire Melissa twice as a doula now and I could not recommend her services enough. She is a wonderful advocate for mothers and truly listened to what I needed. She gave me the space to think about what my needs might be and I don’t think I would have known without her there to ask those questions. She helped prep our whole family in a way where I felt so well cared for. For both of the births Melissa was there for, as soon as she walked in I felt a huge sigh of relief. She was there and she had me and my back and I fully trusted her to guide me. We were also fortunate enough to hire her postpartum doulas! We had the pleasure of working with Veronica, Danielle and Bernadette. Everyone brought different outstanding qualities that were a total joy to experience. They went above and beyond to learn about our families needs and fit right in. I trusted all of them with my postpartum care, cooking meals, giving my husband a break and endless sibling entertainment for my bigger kids so I could snuggle in bed with our new baby. I felt so well supported my body was able to heal physically and I could emotionally take space when needed. There was always round the clock care and they were quick to fill our schedule when I quickly realized I needed more support than I had initially intended. I wish all mothers could experience this kind of care.

Ashley Cutchen

When my husband and I first found out we were expecting, I started researching birth like a madwoman - determined to leave no stone unturned! I wanted to be prepared, but most of all, I was afraid. I was terrified of the unknown and all the horror stories I had seen on TV and heard from other women. As I educated myself, I became fascinated with birth and the amazing way God has created women's bodies to bring life into the world. My anxieties were soothed; birth didn’t have to be scary and miserable! It can be purposeful and empowering! I was able to experience doula support firsthand as a first-time mom, and the difference it made to have someone who knows birth and what was normal, to hold my hand and apply counterpressure to my aching back, and to encourage and support my husband as well was huge. Shortly after my first birth experience, I started the processs to become a doula myself. During my certification, I was able to aid in several different labors. It was a blessing to be able to learn with these mamas during such a beautiful and intimate part of their lives. Now, I am blessed to walk with women through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum pretty consistently, and I can say that there is absolutely nothing like watching women achieve their birth goals together with their husbands. That moment of disbelief, triumph, and sweet relief when baby is born and they realize it is over and they DID IT! I find myself praising God all the more after each experience!

We took birthing classes with Ashley and just welcomed our baby, and we can honestly say the information she provided was incredibly helpful during labor and delivery. The techniques, explanations, and guidance she shared truly helped us get through the process with more confidence. She was especially great at teaching my husband practical ways to support me and how to advocate for me during labor, which made a huge difference. On top of that, she is very personable, easy to communicate with, and wonderful to work with. We would highly recommend her services to anyone preparing for birth.

Five Stars Isn't Enough for Ms. Riley There are some people who come into your life during your darkest moments and leave a permanent impact. For me, that person was Ms. Riley. I hired Ms. Riley as my NICU Doula while pregnant with my twins, and from the very beginning she was by my side. She was there for my birth, she supported me throughout the entire three months that my twins were in the NICU, and after they were discharged, she continued caring for my babies as our NICU Newborn Care Specialist for an additional three months. In total, Ms. Riley walked alongside my family for six incredibly important months of our journey. What makes her support even more meaningful is the fact that I had no family support system. During my pregnancy, my husband decided to divorce me when I was only four months pregnant with twins. I was facing one of the most difficult seasons of my life, feeling scared, overwhelmed, and alone. Through it all, Ms. Riley was a constant source of support, encouragement, and compassion. Ms. Riley has a way of making every mother feel seen, heard, and cared for. She affectionately calls us her "baby mothers," and I have to admit, that always made me laugh during a time when I desperately needed something to smile about. It may seem like a small thing, but her ability to bring comfort, humor, and warmth into difficult situations is truly a gift. She consistently went above and beyond for me and my twins. Whether it was providing guidance, emotional support, newborn care expertise, or simply being present when I needed someone most, she showed up every single time. I never felt judged, rushed, or alone. Instead, I felt supported, empowered, and capable as a first-time mother navigating an unexpected and challenging journey. Ms. Riley, it is so clear that this is your calling. The love, dedication, patience, and commitment you bring to your families cannot be taught. You have a rare gift, and I truly believe doors will continue to open for you because of the impact you have on the lives of mothers and babies. We need more people like you, not only in newborn care but throughout the healthcare industry as a whole. I will absolutely be booking Ms. Riley's services again when I'm ready to return to work, even though I work remotely, because the peace of mind she provides is priceless. I am giving Ms. Riley five stars, but honestly, stars don't come close to describing how she made me feel. If you truly understand what a halo represents, then that's what she deserves: unlimited halos. Thank you, Ms. Riley, for helping me survive and thrive during one of the hardest and most beautiful chapters of my life. I will be forever grateful.

I'm thrilled to share about the amazing help we received from Kelly Hickman as our sibling support doula. Kelly's commitment and knowledge were truly outstanding. She managed to take care of our older child while also providing invaluable assistance to our birth doula during my wife's home birth. Kelly offered us two home visits prior to the birth of our daughter to answer all of our questions and to spend quality one on one time with our 3 year old son, engaging with him in his favorite activities. She took pictures with him so we could look at them together as a family and talk with him about how his friend Kelly was going to come back and play with him soon when mommy was having his baby sister. She really took the time to bond and form a genuine connection with him, and because of that, he very much looked forward to his time with her when she finally returned for the birth. Her sincere care, attentiveness, and ability to handle multiple tasks made a significant impact during this important time for our family. Kelly's presence provided comfort and reassurance, and her dedication to the well-being of both my children was truly extraordinary. I'm incredibly thankful for her exceptional support and wholeheartedly recommend her services to anyone in need of a compassionate and skilled doula.

In May of 2022 my husband and I witnessed the birth of our second baby girl, at home in total bliss. My husband was involved in hands on appointments in our home, tailored to us where he got to learn about maternal health, how to support /affirm your partner during pregnancy—and he delivered our baby alongside Midwife Kim, confident with her guidance. Not only did Midwife Kim-deliver an outstanding beside manner, traveling to and from our home for detailed, hands on visits where we discussed healthy habits for the type of birth we have in mind, birthing options, birthing challenges etc but she also saved my life. Following my peaceful, serene water birth at our home-a 12 hour labor, I encountered an unforeseen medical emergency where Midwife Kim stood 10 toes down to ensure that I made it through. She acted swiftly to cover the basics and make sure I was comfortable, ensured our baby was well and then made a call to 911. Here is where her policy came into place-we can’t have a baby unless we can get you to hospital quickly if something happens. And it did. Her actions while awaiting the ambulance saved me from bleeding out, panicking and going into shock. It didn’t end there, her team cared for my family while I was away being cared for at the hospital post birth. She stayed with me through an uneasy procedure and became my advocate. I would not be here if it were not for the fierce compassion and the wisdom of Midwife Kimberly. I am grateful for her work and the knowledge she fed me as a mother and the ways she supported me post birth and into my postpartum period. She is a true pioneer in the birthing world and if you are medically able to-this is an experience you’ll definitely want to have.

I met Mary when she practiced in Arizona and quickly turned into more than just a service provider, but a friend as well. She’s helped me through the pregnancy and post partum of all 4 of my babies and I couldn’t ask for a better support person by my side. Even from Texas, Mary was an absolute saint even just with listening through my temper-tantrums while being pregnant and guiding me through labor-prep. I seriously have her and her alone to thank for such an amazing birth and post partum 4 times now. I seriously recommend her if you’re looking for someone to feel more like family than a service.

Lavonne was truly a blessing throughout one of the most important seasons of my life. From our very first meeting, she was professional, warm, and carried such a peaceful light about her that I instantly knew she was meant to be my doula. Not only is she incredibly knowledgeable and experienced, but she is also genuine, loving, and deeply caring. She provided me and my husband with so many resources, honest guidance, and valuable information that helped us feel prepared and confident during my first pregnancy. She always kept it real, answered every question with patience, and made the entire journey feel personal instead of transactional. Although my birth plan changed unexpectedly and I had to have an emergency C-section instead of delivering at the birthing center, Lavonne still showed up for me in every way. She drove over an hour to the hospital to be there by my side, supported me emotionally, made sure my baby had everything she needed, helped with latching, and continued checking on us afterward. That level of care is rare. Lavonne does this from the heart, and it shows. She treats her clients like family and truly goes above and beyond. I am so thankful for her and honored to have had her as part of this experience. If you are considering hiring a doula, do not hesitate—Lavonne is amazing. Highly recommend.

Hi, Im Andrea. Founder of Maternal Haven, Birth + Postpartum Doula, Childbirth Educator, and Creator of the Haven Circle™ Model of Care. I support families through the deeply transformative journey of pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period. Guided by the Haven Circle’s core pillars of connection, continuity, restoration, and community care, my approach blends holistic healing with evidence-informed practices to create a grounded and nurturing experience for every family. I specialize in providing intentionally curated labor, birth, and postpartum support that honors both traditional wisdom and modern perinatal needs. My work bridges the gap between these worlds ensuring families feel truly held, informed, and empowered as they step into parenthood. Through Maternal Haven, I offer care that is restorative, culturally mindful, and deeply personalized. Because your journey deserves a circle of support that evolves with you, every step of the way. The Values That Shape My Work: I’m a first-generation Latina raised in a multigenerational household where caregiving was shared, community was central, and support was collective rather than individual. I grew up with a deep understanding of the “village”, mutual aid, interdependence, and emotional presence as foundational to well-being. Those early values shaped my path into caregiving. I began my work supporting families as a nanny during children’s most formative years, and later transitioned into birth and postpartum doula care, childbirth education, and mentorship for emerging doulas. Across each role, one belief has remained constant: meaningful support is built through continuity, not urgency. How I Support Families: My approach sits at the intersection of emotional wellness, cultural humility, and practical guidance. I honor ancestral knowledge while also supporting families as they navigate modern perinatal systems and healthcare structures. Through Maternal Haven, I offer support that evolves as families’ needs change, providing steadiness across pregnancy, birth, and postpartum rather than isolated moments of care. A Circle of Care That Grows With You: Whether I’m facilitating a prenatal session, supporting someone through labor, or offering quiet presence during postpartum recovery, my intention remains the same: to help families feel informed, supported, and confident as they step into parenthood. Your journey deserves care that is thoughtful, restorative, and personal. Care that adapts as you do. Care that walks with you, every step of the way.

I have a difficult time finding the right doula for me and i was losing hope, until i was matched with Andrea and i felt like i had a huge relief. My pregnancy was full of ups and downs but Andrea made sure from the start that she was fully by my side and never made me feel alone. Her empathy and comprehension was something that i was definitely looking for in a doula because in my first pregnancy i felt unheard and put to the side while i was in labor with my first daughter. This time around anytime i had any fears or doubts Andrea was always quick to be comforting and supportive with her words. She is such a sweet and special person to me who i will always cherish because she is one of a kind. Durning my labor with my second daughter when it was calm she made everything so peaceful, even when things changed and the energy shifted and i was scared because my body went into fetal ejection reflex and pushed my daughter out at 7cm Andrea never stopped caring for me and going above and beyond to support me and help me ease my anxiety. She also saved my sanity and gave me peace doing overnights and taking care of my newborn while i recovered from my birth. Words cant describe how grateful i am for Andrea she is the best doula out there.

I'm Taylor, your dedicated birth and postpartum doula. As a native of Dallas, my life's journey has been a blend of enriching experiences and fulfilling adventures, all of which have guided me to my true calling—supporting new families during the prenatal & postpartum period. Right after college, I embarked on a transformative adventure to Thailand. Living and teaching in this beautiful country was an eye-opening experience that profoundly shaped my worldview. It was here that I found my inspiration to live freely, purposefully, and in service to others. In my everyday life, I love juicing and cooking. When I’m not assisting families, you can find me hiking the trails around Dallas, reading or traveling. I also cherish going to the movies. Pregnancy and postpartum are crucial for both the baby and the parents. As your birth/postpartum doula, my goal is to provide unwavering support, compassionate care, and practical guidance. Drawing from my holistic experiences and nurturing spirit, I am here to ensure that this transition is as smooth and joyful as possible for you and your family. Hello everyone! My name is Parul, and I’m a Certified Birth and Postpartum Doula based in Chicago, Illinois. I’m originally from Mississippi and have called Chicago home since 2009. I’m also a proud mom to a 21-year-old son! My journey into doula work grew from my passion for holistic wellness, mental health, and the connection between mind, body, and soul. Before becoming a doula, I worked as a holistic practitioner specializing in mental wellness and food as medicine, and these passions continue to influence the way I support families today. I believe nourishment, education, emotional well-being, and feeling supported all play an important role in the pregnancy, birth, and postpartum experience. I especially enjoy supporting mothers who desire an unmedicated birth and helping them feel prepared, confident, and empowered through education, comfort measures, and holistic practices. I also love incorporating my knowledge of nutrition, Ayurveda, and mindfulness into my work with families. Outside of doula work, I love traveling, cooking, discovering new foods and cultures, and spending quality time with my friends and family. I’m a big believer in enjoying life’s experiences, continuing to learn, and always finding ways to grow both personally and professionally.

I am so relieved and happy that we chose Parul to be our doula. From our first contact, she was extremely responsive, clear, thorough, warm, and supportive in her communication with us. Her knowledge of the birthing process and preparation is unparalleled and i felt so much more confident going into my delivery with her by my side. At the hospital she was an amazing advocate who helped to ensure our birth plan was honored as closely as possible by our doctor. She was also a huge support during the birth when I needed some encouragement to keep pushing. She also spent a lot of time getting to know us personally which helped pass the time in the hospital. Overall I couldn’t recommend Parul more. When we prepare for our next baby I will definitely work with her again!

My education and background in Cognitive Behavior Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) have provided me with unique tools to mentor parents and facilitate therapeutic communication and conflict resolution within the home. As a specialist in overnight care, I offer a "juicy cocoon of love and compassion" for families needing rest and recovery. During overnight shifts, I feed, comfort, and nourish the baby while providing light housekeeping to prepare the home for the new day, allowing parents to achieve optimal rest. I am a compassionate communicator focused on creating a connected team with the families I work with. My goal is to grow with your family, helping you find your desired rhythm so you can thrive in your parenting journey with ease, grace, and joy. I look forward to meeting you! There are people who do a job, and then there are people who change your life. Dessira is the latter. She entered our lives when our son was born premature and jaundiced. Dessira helped our baby gain weight and, at the same time, provided calm encouragement that helped us become confident parents. That gift is priceless, and I will never forget it. She returned to us when our son was two and stayed until he was six. During those years, she helped us build a nutrition and activity plan. This kept him energized, curious, and challenged--without empty calories or screens. The positive effects of this plan are too many to list here, but the best was his dramatically improved sleep schedule. My son had a mildly rocky transition from nursery school to a TK/K mix to a TK-only class. At the time, I worked 60-70-hour workweeks and cannot overstate the comfort of knowing my son was safe, stimulated, and thriving with Dessira during the day. At night, I was able to be fully present with my son because Dessira handled housework and other distractions that would have taken away from that precious time. She did this without being asked. I'm grateful to her because if she hadn't, I wouldn't have thought of it. Dessira is exceptional with infants and children of all ages. She is calm under pressure because she has a deep well of knowledge and experience to draw from. She prioritizes safety -- the safety of their bodies, of course, and also their minds and hearts. She values imagination and curiosity, and she brings genuine warmth, humor, and fun to every day. Dessira is unique in that she cares for the whole family as a single ecosystem, where the health of all depends on the health of each. She is a wonderful listener, and as she learns what matters to you -- as parents, as people -- she reflects that back to you with encouragement and practical creativity. When I said, "Well, ideally we'd do this, but that's probably unrealistic," her response was, "Maybe so -- but let's talk about it for a minute, just to see." Most of the time, with a bit of creativity and brainstorming, we made it happen. When we didn't, I felt supported and seen, which I found to be equally valuable. It makes a big difference in my life when a smart, energetic person is on my team. I'm better at my job, I'm a better partner, and I'm a better mom. If you are lucky enough to get Dessira in your corner, I am genuinely happy for you and your family to have the kind of support that will enrich your lives.

Working with Tia was one of the best decisions we made for our pregnancy, birth, and postpartum journey. From the very beginning, she brought such wisdom, warmth, and intentionality into every interaction. In our prenatal visits, she patiently walked us through what to expect, explained interventions in a way that felt clear and empowering, and gave my partner practical guidance on how to support me during labor. She also shared so much valuable lactation education that set us up for success once our baby arrived. When the time came for labor, Tia was absolutely incredible. She created such a safe and calming space, offering comfort and encouragement in every moment. She helped my partner feel confident in how to support me both physically and emotionally, and I will forever be grateful for how she helped us walk through that experience together. She was also the best advocate, ensuring that my wishes were honored and that we felt truly cared for and seen. Even after birth, Tia’s support didn’t stop. She has been a steady, compassionate presence—answering questions, easing worries, and guiding us as we step into this new season of parenthood. Her postpartum care has been just as meaningful as her presence at birth. Tia is a gift. She pours love and intentionality into her work in a way that is truly rare, and I can’t imagine having walked through this season without her.
