Hi All! I am Cheryl Small, a Birth & Postpartum Doula and Childbirth Educator serving families in northern Colorado. Three decades ago I had my first baby via cesarean and my next three babies were born naturally at home attended by midwives, which was a decision that changed the course of my life. I am passionate about all things natural health and believe the body has the ability to perform beyond what our minds can comprehend. This includes physiological birth. The body knows what to do. Does that mean every birth goes accordingly? Not always. But I have found the biggest obstacle is not the body, but the mind, so when prepared with education, tools, support and informed decision making, the chances of obtaining your desired birth are greater. My second birth—a natural water birth at a birth center attended by midwives and a doula—was profoundly different. It was through that empowering and supported experience that I came to understand the incredible strength of the birthing body, and the vital role that informed, compassionate care plays in a woman’s journey. As I moved through this transformative chapter, I found myself drawn to learning more about pregnancy, birth, and postpartum care. My name is Rowan Hawkins (she/they), and I bring nearly three decades of living, working, and learning into my work as a threshold doula, specializing with families with miscarriages and stillborn births. I am also a traveling CO notary public, traveling folk harp player, certified child passenger safety technician (CPST-PVS), and mother of my one-and-only rainbow baby (who was born via medically necessary C-section). Hi, I'm Brandi, and I have worked with children professionally for 12 years. My experience is from newborns to 12 years of age, including children with special needs. I'm CPR & First Aid certified as well. I have worked in a daycare, as a full-time nanny, and now provide backup childcare. I do have families I work with on a weekly basis right now. I'm available for date night/day outings or school/daycare closures. I also provide overnight care due to travel or work schedules. I'm available for evenings/overnights during the week or weekends for newborn care at this time. I look forward to hearing from you!

I found my love and passion for supporting families and children in 2002 when I began my career as a Nanny.  I would frequently found myself supporting newborns/infants as a Nanny and chose to transition to a Newborn Care Specialist officially in 2021.  As of 2023, I have supported over 30 families with their childcare and newborn development. In order to bolster my experience and skills, I sought educational opportunities that specialized in newborn/infant care.  I have completed course offerings from Newborn Care Solutions in both Foundational and Advanced levels and am an Elite, CACHE certified NCS; along with being a trained doula and working on my certification for lactation counselor, I continue learning and growing my knowledge through safe sleep courses and many other trainings pertaining to newborns.
