Alyssa Taylor Popular: among the most-viewed doulas in Ohio, last 60 days

I am a Certified Professional Midwife, Certified International Midwife, Licensed Midwife, Certified Labor Doula, Certified Lactation Specialist, university educator, published author, and researcher with over 1,000 births attended. I am now mostly retired from midwifery practice and accept repeat midwifery clients only. I am currently accepting new clients for birth support at Summa Health in Akron. Occasionally, I will consider support at another hospital. If you would like to discuss this possibility, please feel free to send me a message here or via my website. I have supported families as a doula for many years, beginning prior to midwifery school and continuing throughout my midwifery career. I bring the knowledge of a midwife and the presence of a doula, walking with you from early pregnancy through those tender first weeks postpartum. I intentionally limit my calendar so that when your labor begins, I am fully rested and able to focus entirely on you. I am a wife, a mother of four, mother-in-law, and a proud grandmother of two. I know firsthand how much this season of life matters, and I would be honored to be part of yours.

Choosing Alyssa as my doula was hands-down the best decision I made for my birth. I'm a nurse practitioner myself, so I naturally have a high standard for care, but Alyssa completely blew me away. She was incredibly hands-on from day one. All through my pregnancy, she was in constant communication and would text me back within minutes whenever I had a question. Her medical knowledge is absolutely incredible—even though she was strictly acting as my doula, her background as a midwife brought this amazing layer of clinical wisdom and calm to the entire experience. Her postpartum support has been equally as great. She has checked in constantly and is a huge reason behind my breastfeeding success. She is everything you could ever want on your birthing team😍

Jasmine is a wonderful Midwife. I’ve worked with her on mini homebirths. She really takes the mother’s medical care to heart. She listens to the mother’s concerns questions and requests and meets them how she can. I recommend Jasmine Wagster as a homebirth Midwife for a safe and healthy delivery.

I certified as a Full Spectrum Birth Doula in 2021. I am a veteran birther, having had 8 babies. I have written two pregnancy books and working on third. AFTER raising 8 babies I found myself wanting to share my experiences and knowledge with other Mama's. I can tell you which of my pregncies were hydrated or dehydrated. I am starting a movement to empower all mamas from every walk of life. I want you to be a part of it. It doesn't matter to me if I am your hired doula or just a mentor. I want to make sure every women pregnant experiences the best possible outcome. To do that you must come to a complete understanding in regards to the first molecule of life Water!! Water is the key ingredient that empowers every pregnancy! I offer workshops and personal counseling based on my book available on Amazon "I am Water Understand Hydration during Pregnancy " Its her (your)body, her (your) pregnancy her (your) health. I believe every woman needs an advocate to make sure her birth plan manifests! Helping Mama's achieve their personal birth story goals is my life mission. Women today are dealing with different maternal factors than previous generations. Every pregnant mom wants a diet that is healthy. But in today's world that may not be as easily attainable as you would believe. We rely heavily on processed foods that are highly concentrated with sodium. Nearly every drink on the market comes in a plastic bottle. Juice, Water, Milk. We all have learned that microplastics is not healthy. Can we please have drinking products in aluminum cans with bpa free liners undetectable to taste or glass bottles? What are the consequences on a mothers body with added sodium and lots of plastics? When a mother consumes these products while pregnant does this put your health and your babies health on the best track? Is there a simple solution that all mothers can use? I ABSOLUTELY LOVE teaching expecting mothers the importance of hydration during Pregnancy in todays packaged and processed food world. We are all told by our medical team to drink more water and stay hydrated. BUT what does that really mean? As a birth doula I have found moms have questions that they feel are embarrassing to discus about hydration for fear of being thought ignorant. I explain to my moms that honestly that is the most important question you could ask. I break down what water does for you and your baby. We go over possible complications from dehydration. Lastly we discuss preventive hydration care. DID YOUKNOW YOUR BABYS BODY COMPOSITION AT BIRTH IS 70-75% WATER? It is simple, it's easy and makes a difference in regards to how a mom feels physically as well as emotionally about her body and baby. The health impovements that occur with a well hydrated mother are vastly important. Learn what they are and how to hydrate you and your baby. You can purchase on Amazon. When my birth plan was turned upside down going from a home birth to a hospital induction, Candace was an amazing support. Not just physically when I was going through contractions but also mentally and emotionally beforehand. She helped me put together a hospital birth plan, helped answer questions I didn’t even have to think about with my original birth plan. When she showed up at the hospital her calming energetic personality helped me to stay focused throughout all my contractions and she was a great distraction in the beginning part of my labor. I don’t know how I would have done it without her. Just knowing I had someone there with me who is as skilled and knowledgeable as Candace when it came to both my birth plan and labor and delivery got me through so much. I wouldn’t want to go through a birth, home or hospital without her help!

Cari Walters

Thank you for taking a minute to learn more about me! My name is Cari Walters. After an eight year battle with infertility, including a full year of testing, medications, and numerous hospital visits, I started my own mom Journey. My husband was deployed to Iraq for the birth of our first child. I would have been all alone if it wasn’t for the close-knit military wives (and occasionally my mom who lived out of state) that encircled me during this precious time. If it wasn’t for these women loving on me and advising me before, during, and after my birth, I know it would not have been such a positive experience. I knew at once that I wanted to support and love other moms in the same manner. I started out supporting new moms by being a part of a group called MOPS. My husband returned from war and shortly after we were blessed with a second baby without all the fertility trials. I continued working with moms through the MOPS organization as we moved across the country to Colorado. It was there that I met a beautiful friend and fellow MOPS mentor who introduced me to being a doula. In 2020, after taking the 200hr course with 75hrs of clinical work I began my journey as a full spectrum doula. I absolutely love birth and postpartum work but quickly learned that I really shined on the postpartum side of birth work. I concentrated on obtaining my Newborn Care Specialist certification and Sleep Guide Certification to improve and round out my skills as a postpartum doula.

Cari has been wonderful to work with. Highly recommend. She is very professional, supportive & knowledgeable. She always arrives on time, maybe even a little early. I appreciate that she always leaves a note recapping the night with how much the LO ate, diapers & any comments on sleep or suggestions. My animals also loved Cari and the extra late night pets!
