Hi Everyone! I am certified with BirthWorker Academy as a full-spectrum doula, but I specialize in Postpartum care. I am CPR/First Aid Certified, a Gift Registry Consultation Expert with BeHer Village, and am currently training in my babywearing certification with Adjoyn. I serve the greater Cleveland area including Cuyahoga, Erie, and Lorain counties. I started my training in December of 2022, and I hit the ground running in May of 2023 providing both birth and postpartum support. But in today's world that may not be as easily attainable as you would believe. We rely heavily on processed foods that are highly concentrated with sodium. Nearly every drink on the market comes in a plastic bottle. Juice, Water, Milk. We all have learned that microplastics is not healthy. Can we please have drinking products in aluminum cans with bpa free liners undetectable to taste or glass bottles? What are the consequences on a mothers body with added sodium and lots of plastics? When a mother consumes these products while pregnant does this put your health and your babies health on the best track? Is there a simple solution that all mothers can use? The answer is yes. Hydration for today's standards. I wrote a book to share with expecting mothers the importance of hydration during Pregnancy in todays packaged and processed food world. We are all told by our medical team to drink more water and stay hydrated. But as a birth doula I have found moms have questions that they feel are embarrassing to discus about hydration for fear of being thought ignorant. I explain to my moms that honestly that is the most important question you could ask. I break down what water does for you and your baby. We go over possible complications from dehydration. Lastly we discuss preventive hydration care. It is simple, it's easy and makes a difference in regards to how a mom feels physically as well as emotionally about her body and baby. I never expected to be involved in birth work, yet five years later I am immersed in it loving every moment! My loving husband was the first person to educate me about my birth choices.
