"Most of us did not learn when we were young that our capacity to be self-loving would be shaped by the work we do and whether that work enhances our well-being." – bell hooks. This is a quote that has stuck with me as I explore my career path. Becoming a doula is something I did not follow through with until the murder of George Floyd. Seeing the striking images of pregnant Black mothers protesting around the country ignited the fire in me to finally complete my training to become a certified perinatal educator - meaning I can provide childbirth education, prenatal support, labor and delivery support, lactation support, and newborn care support. But my calling to birth work started on the day I was born with my mother being hospitalized for 2 months postpartum from an avoidable mistake during an emergency c-section. I value empathy, collaboration, and being open minded. As a doula, I am intentional about serving my clients in a way that supports self-empowerment, so they feel they have all the information they feel they need to make the best decision for them and their baby/babies. I do not shy away from vulnerability, and I believe this allows me to have relationships with my clients built on trust.

I have always been drawn to newborns, infants, children of all ages, and their families. There is a richness in family life that always brings about such a great sense of wonder and awe. There is a way a baby or toddler looks back at you and you know they don’t care what color your hair is, how many wrinkles you have, if you are overweight, underweight, or have zero sense of style. They just know how to LOVE. It is that unconditional love and trust in a baby’s eyes that instilled a strong desire in my heart to protect this innocence and trust by providing families with care providers they could trust. Care that is always gentle, loving, slowly paced, curious, and joyful. We want to bring this into your home.

I’m Paige and I’m a mom of 3. I spent most of my young adult life working with people with developmental disabilities. After that, I received my Sign Language Interpreting degree from Saint Paul College and worked with Deaf/Hard of Hearing folks before becoming a stay-at-home mom. I have spent the last several years raising my kids. It hasn’t always been easy, but it’s my favorite job yet! Now it’s time for me to do what I really love: postpartum work! I have always been passionate about families, pregnancy, birth, babies, and postpartum. Parents deserve so much more support and education as they are growing their families. Many people tend to focus only on pregnancy and preparing for birth, but they don’t spend time preparing for postpartum. My goal is to help families be more prepared and supported for all that comes when adding a new baby to the family. I want families to have a smoother and more peaceful postpartum experience. I am based out of South Saint Paul, Minnesota and am currently serving the greater Twin Cities area.

I'm passionate about empowering mothers through the journey of pregnancy, birth and the fourth trimester. After giving birth to our first child, I decided to start my birth work journey as a birth and postpartum doula. My goal is to provide unwavering support, guiding moms to feel calm and empowered on their unique journey to motherhood. Beyond my doula role, I am a mom to a 3 year old boy, a 1 year old girl, and I find joy in bonfires, gardening and a good cup of coffee.

Hello and Congratulations on your new arrival! I've been a birth doula since 2018 through the organization DONA. Every birth I have assisted with has been a beautiful and a learning experience for me. I feel blessed to be a part of this special moment in the lives of my clients. My practice provides you and your partner with continuous emotional and physical support. You are in charge, but a doula can assist with you staying in charge, especially in a hospital setting. Doula's are skilled at helping to alleviate the fear factor of giving birth. Every mother deserves a doula, and I hope you would consider me to be yours. Best wishes! Rhonda

Jerriah Marie (She/Her)… is a wellness practitioner, birth worker, and medicine wombman located in the twin cities. When she is not serving families in the birth space you can find her writing poetry, whipping up herbal remedies in her kitchen, and sharing cuddles with her daughter Leilani. Her passion for birth work began at age 5. After witness her first birth, she knew that being a birthworker was her mission. As a young adult Jerriah was always deeply moved by birth and found her way supporting family members and friends during their labor. It wasn't until 2020, after the birth of her daughter, that this spark reignited back into her life and she dove deep into the meaningful work that she now does as a birth worker. "I believe that Birth is sacred, and should be handled with intention. As a birth worker my approach is designed around assisting you in bringing your birth intentions to life, whatever that may look like for you and your family. Kyliah is a trained Doula and Social Worker in the Twin Cities. She is currently an Elementary School Social Worker in North St. Paul. Although originally from the Chicagoland area, Kyliah has lived in different parts of the Midwest including St. Louis, MO and Duluth, MN. She is trained clinically as a Social Worker and brings all of her skills of advocacy, empathy, relationship-building, client focused care, and empowerment to her role as a Doula. Having worked in so many communities here in the Twin Cities and with survivors of violence while in St. Louis, Kyliah recognizes the importance of upholding one’s individual story and experience no matter where their journey has taken them. She came to birthwork recognizing the significant disparities in care for Black and Brown birthing families and wanting to provide care that is accessible and acknowledges history and culture. As a Doula, Kyliah is trained in Perinatal Mental Health, Hypnobirthing, Grief and Reproductive Loss, and currently finishing a training on supporting body mechanics in pregnancy, birth, and beyond. Kyliah prioritizes ensuring that the families she supports feel safe not only physically, but emotionally as well as during their birthing times and beyond. She is trained and immersed in providing trauma sensitive care, child development, and mental wellness and believes it is ESSENTIAL to provide cultural conscious and congruent care that values and uplifts identity and experience. In her free time, you can find Kyliah binge watching her favorite tv shows, cooking or trying out new restaurants, or hanging out with her husband and dog, lovingly known as “Baby Moon”.

My hobbies include baking, cooking and gardening as well as anything outdoors! I have also been a pediatric occupational therapist since 2015 and love my job helping kids and their families reach maximum potential and coach on ways to adapt and modify environments to meet the child where they are at!
