The cost of a lactation consultant in Doylestown, PA can be influenced by several factors:

  • Type of Certification

International Board Certified Lactation Consultants (IBCLCs) typically charge more than Certified Lactation Counselors (CLCs) due to their advanced training and ability to handle complex breastfeeding issues.

  • Visit Type

In-home visits generally cost more than office visits or virtual consultations. Many consultants in Doylestown offer telehealth options at reduced rates.

  • Insurance Coverage

Pennsylvania Medicaid offers partial coverage for lactation services in Doylestown. It covers counseling provided by, or billed through, a medical provider, while direct payment to an independent IBCLC outside a clinic or the WIC peer-counseling program is limited. Doylestown has a robust local market, with 77 lactation consultants listed within 60 miles. For private insurance, federal requirements generally call for most plans to include breastfeeding support and breast pumps without cost sharing.

  • Number of Sessions

Some consultants offer package deals for multiple sessions, which can be more cost-effective than paying per visit, especially for ongoing breastfeeding challenges.

  • HSA and FSA Eligibility

Lactation consulting is an IRS-eligible medical expense, meaning you can use HSA or FSA funds to cover the cost without paying taxes on those dollars.

  • Experience and Specialization

Consultants with specialized expertise in areas like tongue ties, premature infant feeding, or relactation may charge higher rates.

When looking for a lactation consultant in Doylestown, PA, it's a good idea to check with your insurance provider first, as many plans cover lactation services. Interview several consultants to find one who fits your needs and budget, and ask about their specific credentials, experience, and what each session includes.

In a world where a wealth of knowledge is at your finger tips, it was tempting to rely solely on the internet for my breastfeeding journey. However, I wanted nothing but the best for our baby which included all the benefits of long term breastfeeding. After she was born, I contacted Stacey for a breastfeeding session. Stacey was knowledgable, professional, and personable. She was able to improve our babies latch and provide peice of mind that she was feeding well. Shortly after we had our 2 week pediatrician appointment to confirm our baby had regained her birth weight. Happy to report she was over birth weight based solely on being breastfed! Around 5 weeks we had Stacey back for a pumping session. It was important to us that we could have the option to bottle feed breastmilk. I had heard some negative stories about pumping and babies not accepting bottles. Again, Stacey was able to coach me and our little girl towards successfully integrating pumping and bottle feeding into our routine! I am grateful we found Stacey. She helped ease our stress and made feeding out baby a smooth experience.

Hi I'm Diane Nader Giresi, I'm a DONA Trained and Certified Postpartum Doula, a Certified Lactation Counselor and a Pre/Postnatal Fitness Trainer. I realized with the birth of my first child, that I had to include a wellness plan for my overall wellbeing. I believe we go through different journeys throughout our lives and with each journey, we face challenges. My goal as a postpartum doula, is to provide my clients with individualized non-judgmental support that encourages them on their journey as new parents. Continuing education is always at the forefront, so I can provide the most up to date evidence based research and resources. I attend many workshops and conferences on the ever changing protocols on tongue-tie and oral restrictions. I provide extensive lactation support if choosing to breastfeed. I help develop strategies for success, back to work plans, weaning, pumping, and flange fitting. In addition to newborn care, understanding cues, and newborn sleep patterns. Support looks different for each family. I listen to your needs and together we form a plan that serves your new family unit.

Being in postpartum has made a lot of things more difficult but Diane's help has made one of those hardest things so much more enjoyable and approachable. She was extremely non-judgmental, very attentive, and very observant. I thought all was lost and the meltdowns would be normal,,but after Diane's visit, both baby and I had a much easier time approaching breastfeeding.

Megan Weimer

Accepts insurance

Hi!!! My name is Megan Weimer and I am an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) and the founder of Love & Leche Lactation, serving families in southern Chester County, PA and the surrounding tri-state area. I support families through prenatal and postpartum feeding with a calm, practical, and evidence-based approach. With a background in Industrial Engineering, I bring a problem-solving mindset to lactation care, helping parents understand not just what is happening with feeding, but why. As both an IBCLC and a parent of two whom I breastfed, I understand how personal and emotional feeding can be. My goal is to meet families where they are, honor their feeding goals, and provide supportive, judgment-free care that helps parents feel informed and confident.

Megan at Breezy Babies was so helpful with breastfeeding! She brought her own scale to measure baby's weight before and after feeding him to see how much he ate. We discussed tongue tie relief options and breast care to avoid mastitis. She recommended things like breast gymnastics, lymphatic draining, pumping best practices when you have an oversupply, icing, and probiotics for me and baby while I’m on an antibiotic. We have already seen such an improvement with latching and breast comfort. I am so glad I reached out to Megan! And my insurance even covered the visits! Always a plus. I would 10/10 recommend Megan and Breezy Babies!!

Hello, and welcome! My name is Shaniqua, and I am a birth doula and birthing assistant currently completing my professional training. I am passionate about providing compassionate, evidence-based support to growing families throughout pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period. My journey into birth work is deeply personal. I was inspired by my mother’s birth story and my own experiences navigating pregnancy and Cesarean births. Those experiences showed me how important it is for every mother to feel informed, heard, respected, and supported. Especially when birth doesn’t go exactly as planned. While I have a special passion for supporting families preparing for or recovering from Cesarean births, I am honored to support mothers and families through all types of birth experiences. My goal is to help you feel empowered to make informed decisions, advocate for your needs, and approach your birth with confidence and peace of mind. As I continue my training and education, I remain committed to learning, growing, and providing compassionate care rooted in respect, empathy, and continuous improvement. I believe every birth story matters, and it would be a privilege to walk alongside you during one of the most meaningful journeys of your life. Thank you for considering me to be a part of your birth team. I look forward to supporting you with kindness, encouragement, and wholehearted care every step of the way.
