I faced many challenges and received mixed advice from healthcare professionals during this period, which led me to realize the importance of having access to knowledgeable and supportive resources. This realization fueled my dedication to infant nutrition and helping new families thrive. ​ I provide education, feeding plans, and other assistance to breastfeeding mothers, and I am a strong advocate for the benefits of infant nutrition, both physically and emotionally.

My purpose is to nurture, create, and transform. my team and I believe in nurturing and supporting the family as a whole with non-judgmental, non-medical companionship, education, and resources. Birth and postpartum are natural aspects of life, and I am here to help you achieve full care through pregnancy, labor, and the smoothest transition into parenthood. My philosophy is to uplift mentally, emotionally, and spiritually for a balanced life, always promoting peace to you and your family. I can't remember a time when I was not passionate about family issues, and particularly family health. I had my first child at a young age, and found the perinatal landscape entirely bewildering. Mostly alone, I had no idea what was happening to me and my baby, or how to provide for him once he was born (and later, when he was quite sick). The experience strengthened my desire to support others who find themselves similarly lost at the hands of an impersonal medical institution. ​ ​​ I am committed to helping families access evidence-based information for informed decision-making, and to helping improve the birth experience for all families. I serve families of all types, and I specialize in trauma-informed care, bereavement support, disability advocacy, and neurodivergence, Additionally, I am conversant in Spanish, French, and American Sign Language (ASL). The journey into familyhood should be a time of joy, love, and familial and community support. I founded Family Ways with the intention to help bring such an experience to any individual and family who wants and needs it, and to strengthen the family bond—no matter what shape the family takes. I am honored to have been able to share in the lives of so many beautiful families, if for just this one crucial moment.

Rich Rising Everyone! Please feel free to call me Torie, I’m a mom to 3 amazing Adults and a special Angel (Yes, I am a SIDS mama). Born in Washington, DC, and I currently travel to families in Maryland, DC, Virginia, and the Atlanta region of Georgia as an Ancient Songs Certified Full Spectrum Community Doula. I’ve been in the perinatal and birth worker space since 2007, and in 2020, I became a Certified End of Life Doula in order to be polycentric for families and friends, and to expound my knowledge and field set as a mediator and facilitator. I come for a federal government and nonprofit background and later I decided to pivot into consulting, advocacy work and lobby. My goals are always to provide and be a judgement-free safe space while I provide the tools, resources and support for you, Baby and the support that will be there for you throughout your journey of parenthood. Since 2015, I have served clients as a Birth and Postpartum Doula. In 2021, I became an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC). I have served over 80 clients having vaginal births after caesarean (VBAC)  planned/unplanned C-sections, vaginal medicated and unmedicated births. I assisted close to 150 families as a postpartum doula, helping them adjust to parenthood with daytime or nighttime visits. I love assisting at births but the greatest joy for me is postpartum work. Families are under prepared for the changes that come during the first 3 months after birth. Having a guide makes the 4th trimester much smoother.

I have dedicated my career to the well-being of mothers and newborns. I hold a bachelors in nursing and specialized in maternal newborn nursing throughout my career. I am the founder of Little Whole Me, a family support consultant, advanced newborn care specialist, and infant development specialist with more than 19 years of experience in early childhood education and family care. My work centers on newborn care, postpartum support, infant development, caregiver education, and the early family experience. I support families from pregnancy through early childhood, with particular expertise in the newborn period and first year of development. My background includes professional experience as an infant educator, early childhood education leader, newborn care specialist, postpartum doula, birth doula, breastfeeding educator, and postpartum peer support specialist. I have supported families navigating feeding concerns, pumping and bottle-feeding routines, newborn sleep, reflux and gastrointestinal sensitivities, premature birth, NICU transitions, multiples, developmental milestones, and the adjustment to life with a new baby. Additionally, I recently obtained my Certified Breastfeeding Specialist certificate (CBS) from Lactation Education Resources in October 2025. Prior to getting into birth work, I attended Notre Dame of Maryland University, where I studied biology and graduated with high honors. I have since become a mother of 2. Both of my children were born without intervention and at home. When not working, I can be found reading for pleasure, exercising, doing yoga, hiking, or gardening. I specialize in everything from latching challenges and nipple pain to pumping plans, oral ties, and low supply. Every visit includes two weeks of access to my signature online program, Boob School, so you can keep learning and troubleshooting at your own pace between sessions. Whether you’re preparing for birth or deep in postpartum life, my goal is to help you feel calm, capable, and supported every step of the way.

Amy is a true family advocate. She earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology and her master’s degree in human lactation. Starting her career working with families as a doula in the Philadelphia metro area, she supported hospital births, home births, and birth center births. Her personal breastfeeding journey was very rewarding, and it quickly grew into a passion of supporting others in their own breastfeeding journey. She owned a state registered daycare in Vermont for 6 years before moving to Maryland in 2021. Amy completed her internship hours at Metropolitan Breastfeeding in the Fall of 2022. She has enjoyed serving families in the area and assisting women meet their breastfeeding goals. She has a desire to change the trajectory of breastfeeding rates locally and globally and to be part of the tribe that supports women in the childbearing years. Amy lives in Anne Arundel County with her husband and their two youngest children. Their oldest two have grown up and flown the coop!
