I have been supporting families in Northwest Ohio as a Birth Doula since 2018 and a Certified Lactation Counselor, Postpartum Doula, Infant Care Specialist, and Childbirth Educator since 2022. My approach to doula care focuses on holistic, inclusive, non-judgmental support. I believe there are many ways to birth and I strive to create a safe and loving space for each client. He knows he’s a little ham), and a very intelligent 11 year old daughter who loves art, kittens, and peace and quiet away from her brother (we are your typical American family you can say lol..). I have a wonderful significant other named Brandon who has helped me to be able to support my client families and community. Every time I take off for a birth, he says “Take your time with them, babe! Your clients need and deserve it!” Brandon also supported the growth of our family when we decided to introduce two cats to our household earlier this year! Felix is a super friendly kitty who gives strange, but satisfying human-like hugs and Doula (yes, I did think this was hilarious at the time lol) is a total sweetie who is always ready for love! Shortly after we adopted our final family member, Clyde, a super relaxed bearded dragon who quickly learned that if he acted EXTRA cute I would probably offer him an extra bug instead of making him eat ALL of his fruit and veggie salad. As IRONIC as it is, in the experiences of creating and bringing up my family, life has shaped me into a person with a passion in serving other people who are bringing up their own growing families. As someone with the experience of a teenage mother, I am transparent of the fact that pregnancy, birth, and parenting can be a scary road to navigate if you are doing it without support, guidance, or knowledge of “how all this works.” I have a passion for what I do because I believe every current and expecting mother deserves to have someone they can turn to without judgement and biases in a time that can be an excruciatingly vulnerable time for a lot of us.

I'm a Christian DONA International doula, serving families in the SW Ohio area. I am a mother of five children, I have had home births, natural hospital birth, and medicated births. I have also assisted as a doula at homebirths. I have spent years collecting information and resources regarding birth, nutrition, and how best to support healing after birth. I became passionate about supporting growing families after the water-birth of my now eleven year old daughter. My husband and I chose to receive maternity care from a midwife and peacefully brought our baby into the world in a tiny apartment in Huntington Beach, CA. My pregnancy and birth experience was made beautiful through research and informed choices, a safe birthing location, and a strong support team. Almost five years later I birthed my second daughter into the world right at home again. I also experienced an unmedicated birth in a hospital setting late 2019 when my son was born. After attending births in 2012, I began my maternity related education and received my birth doula certification through Childbirth International. CBI is a thorough program accredited with distinction as a provider of continuing nurse education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). I hold a Childbirth Education Certification as well as a certification in Safety and Infection Prevention and Control. I also hold an up to date CPR certification. I attend births in home and birthing center locations in the Fort Wayne area. I have supported mothers and their partners through unmedicated and medicated births alike. Alongside birth work, I am the founder and director of Community Doula Collective, Northeast Indiana's only all certified birth and postpartum doula organization that values education and compassionate care. I’m Em - mama of many, wife to my best friend and new homestead-er. I created my photography business in 2018 not knowing exactly what I wanted to capture, I just knew I wanted to help those in my community save their memories for a lifetime. Fast forward to 2021, I attended my first birth, a sweet home birth. After that I know that birth work was exactly what I was looking for - it has become my passion. In winter of 2022 I got my doula certification to serve local mamas during their pregnancy, labor and postpartum. Now, today in 2024 I have served over 19 mamas and counting and have been published for my birth photography workin a magazine and I have won awards on my work.
