Honestly, 10/10 doesn't even cut it for Soft Landing Postpartum and our amazing doulas, Emma and Cindy. Bringing home a newborn is a lot, but they made the whole transition feel so smooth and manageable. They both have this incredible depth of knowledge and exceptional professionalism, but they deliver it with so much genuine warmth. Whether we had questions about sleep, feeding, or just general newborn stuff, they always had the best advice. Most importantly, the way they loved and cared for our little girl was just beautiful. They felt like a natural extension of our family almost instantly, and we honestly can’t picture our daughter’s life without them in it. We were lucky enough to use them through our Carrot benefits, and the whole process was incredibly easy. If you’re a medical resident with Carrot benefits, do yourself a favor and book them right away. Surviving residency while trying to navigate life with a newborn is no joke, and having Emma and Cindy there to support us meant we actually got to sleep, recover, and feel human. It made a world of difference in helping us show up for our shifts and be present for our baby. We seriously can't recommend them enough!

As a certified Birth and Postpartum Doula and Intimacy Coach, I specialize in providing personalized support and guidance for mothers and families throughout the transitions of pre-conception, birth, and the first 40 days of the postpartum journey. My mission is to create a restful, nourishing space where mothers can connect back to their womb wisdom and intuition, finding confidence and empowerment through embodiment. I have more than 15 years of experience providing high-quality newborn care for families across the Sacramento area. My career began as a professional nanny and house manager, and has evolved into serving as a dedicated advocate for women through my work as a doula. Beyond direct care, I consult with families to create individualized whole care plans that support the healthy growth of the infant, the well-being of the family, and the overall harmony of the household. I have supported dozens of families through their most intimate transitions, helping them navigate everything from birth preferences to early parenthood. I hold a degree in Psychology, which deeply informs my approach to child development and family dynamics. I have a special interest in creating opportunities for children of all ages to grow, learn, and develop, and my extensive training allows me to support families in a way that truly allows them to flourish from birth onwards. My education and background in Cognitive Behavior Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) have provided me with unique tools to mentor parents and facilitate therapeutic communication and conflict resolution within the home. As a specialist in overnight care, I offer a "juicy cocoon of love and compassion" for families needing rest and recovery. During overnight shifts, I feed, comfort, and nourish the baby while providing light housekeeping to prepare the home for the new day, allowing parents to achieve optimal rest. I am a compassionate communicator focused on creating a connected team with the families I work with. My goal is to grow with your family, helping you find your desired rhythm so you can thrive in your parenting journey with ease, grace, and joy. I look forward to meeting you! There are people who do a job, and then there are people who change your life. Dessira is the latter. She entered our lives when our son was born premature and jaundiced. Dessira helped our baby gain weight and, at the same time, provided calm encouragement that helped us become confident parents. That gift is priceless, and I will never forget it. She returned to us when our son was two and stayed until he was six. During those years, she helped us build a nutrition and activity plan. This kept him energized, curious, and challenged--without empty calories or screens. The positive effects of this plan are too many to list here, but the best was his dramatically improved sleep schedule. My son had a mildly rocky transition from nursery school to a TK/K mix to a TK-only class. At the time, I worked 60-70-hour workweeks and cannot overstate the comfort of knowing my son was safe, stimulated, and thriving with Dessira during the day. At night, I was able to be fully present with my son because Dessira handled housework and other distractions that would have taken away from that precious time. She did this without being asked. I'm grateful to her because if she hadn't, I wouldn't have thought of it. Dessira is exceptional with infants and children of all ages. She is calm under pressure because she has a deep well of knowledge and experience to draw from. She prioritizes safety -- the safety of their bodies, of course, and also their minds and hearts. She values imagination and curiosity, and she brings genuine warmth, humor, and fun to every day. Dessira is unique in that she cares for the whole family as a single ecosystem, where the health of all depends on the health of each. She is a wonderful listener, and as she learns what matters to you -- as parents, as people -- she reflects that back to you with encouragement and practical creativity. When I said, "Well, ideally we'd do this, but that's probably unrealistic," her response was, "Maybe so -- but let's talk about it for a minute, just to see." Most of the time, with a bit of creativity and brainstorming, we made it happen. When we didn't, I felt supported and seen, which I found to be equally valuable. It makes a big difference in my life when a smart, energetic person is on my team. I'm better at my job, I'm a better partner, and I'm a better mom. If you are lucky enough to get Dessira in your corner, I am genuinely happy for you and your family to have the kind of support that will enrich your lives.

I am so grateful I found Anita as my doula. She responded quickly to my inquiry through insurance, which meant a lot because I was trying to secure a doula as soon as possible and learn more about the process. From the beginning, she made me feel at ease, calm, and truly understood. She listened to what I wanted for my birth experience and respected my preferences. During labor, Anita was incredibly responsive—always quick to answer texts and calls—and she arrived at the hospital right on time. She was professional, supportive, and fully present throughout the entire process. I had a natural birth, and the pain was intense, but Anita made a huge difference. She used techniques like applying pressure, guiding me into helpful positions, and placing cold towels on my forehead and chest to keep me comfortable. Her support helped me get through one of the most challenging moments of my life. Overall, it was a great experience, and I highly recommend Anita to anyone looking for a caring, attentive, and skilled doula.

Hi! I’m Tunisha (Nisha), a passionate certified birth/postpartum doula, mother of three amazing kids. My own experiences with pregnancy and birth taught me just how transformative this time is, and my philosophy is simple: every parent deserves to feel empowered, respected, and safe, no matter how their birth unfolds. Before becoming a professional doula, I was the go-to person for my friends and family, providing hands-on support, encouragement, and care during their pregnancies and early postpartum days. I believe in 'mothering the mother'—offering calm, non-judgmental, and practical support to help you navigate this incredible journey. I would be honored to hold space for you and help you welcome your baby with confidence.

Recent review

Tunisha became my doula when I was 7 months pregnant. Throughout my journey, we had zoom meetings and communicated daily. Tunisha always checked in on me and shared informative resources for my pregnancy. Fast forward to the actual day of giving birth. Tunisha came to the hospital with such positive energy and calmness. She guided me through every contraction by reminding me to focus on my breathing and by pressing on my hips and back (this got me through the pain). During the time of pushing, she spoke out with encouragement and I held on to her voice. She made me believe in my body and what my body was capable of doing. She was my advocate and my rock. Tunisha asked me if I wanted to labor and push in all the different types of positions; I did and I finally found a comfortable position. I gave birth unmedicated and this was an amazing experience. I always felt safe and secure with Tunisha by my side. I am forever grateful for the support of Tunisha.

Bailey was my doula through Blooming Families! She was wonderful throughout my pregnancy and birth. I was happily surprised that her services were covered by my insurance. Bailey helped me know what to expect for birth and helped me made educated decisions in regard to my birth plan. She attended my birth (despite it begins 3.5 weeks early). Throughout my birth she helped advocate for my wishes and encouraged my husband in ways he could best support me! She also checked in with me postpartum. I am so grateful for her support and recommend her services, especially for first time moms!

I believe every birthing person should have the right to a trauma free birth experience, where their beliefs, values and goals are heard and respected. Birthing bodies are powerful. My goal as a doula is to remind you of the power you hold. I have worked in the medical field for 13 years as a Certified Medical Assistant, Lead Medical Assistant Instructor, recently completed my Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Administration and gained Certification as a Birth and Postpartum Doula. I am a very motivated and determined person. As a dedicated mother and proud African American woman, my heart is deeply rooted in the wellbeing of our community. The glaring disparities in maternal health that disproportionately affect women of color are not just statistics to me; they are urgent calls to action that resonate with my own experiences and those of my loved ones. I am committed to leveraging my knowledge, resources, and voice to initiate and support sustainable changes within the healthcare system. My goal is to ensure that equitable, high-quality maternal care is not a privilege, but a standard afforded to all mothers, regardless of their socioeconomic status. Through community outreach, advocacy, and education, I strive to contribute to a world where maternal mortality in underserved communities is not a grim expectation but a rare exception. My mission is to fight for a future where every mother’s life is given the value it unequivocally deserves.

Hello, I’m Fabiola—a mother of four and proud grandmother of two sweet baby boys. I am a certified Doula, with a master’s degree in East-West Psychology, along with certifications in Ecopsychology and Resilience Leadership from the California Institute of Integral Studies. I am a retired medical social worker, with more than 20 years of experience in the healthcare field. While I had the opportunity to work in many areas of the hospital, the most meaningful and rewarding part of my career was supporting expectant mothers in OBGYN, labor and delivery, and postpartum care. In 2023, I founded my doula practice as a way to bring together my professional experience, educational background, and integrative approach to maternal wellness. My work is centered on supporting the whole person—body, mind, and spirit—through pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum journey.

Recent review

I cannot recommend Fabiola enough! From the very beginning, she was incredibly kind, sweet, knowledgeable, and supportive. She was always so responsive over text and incredibly easy to reach whenever I had a question or needed reassurance. What I appreciated most was how open-minded and spiritual she was. She truly listened to me, respected my wishes, and never once pushed her own opinions or beliefs onto me. I always felt heard, supported, and safe in her care. One of the most valuable things she gave me was the use of meditation and visualization to help me stay calm and visualize a successful delivery. This ended up being incredibly helpful during labor. I experienced extremely intense back labor, and even with an epidural, I could still feel the pain. At one point, my heart rate became dangerously high, and using the meditation techniques she had taught me helped me calm my body, regulate my breathing, and get through some of the most difficult moments. She brought such a calming, reassuring energy to my birth experience, and I truly believe her support made a huge difference. I am so grateful to have had her by my side during such an important and vulnerable moment in my life. If you are looking for a doula who is compassionate, knowledgeable, respectful, spiritually open, and genuinely invested in your experience, I highly recommend her! ❤️

I am a Certified VBAC Doula, trained to serve as a birth and postpartum doula, and offer bereavement doula services for those experiencing pregnancy or infant loss. A successful VBA2C using Hypnobabies in 2011 ignited my enduring passion for supporting and achieving optimal birthing experiences and sharing information about pregnancy and birth to advocate for better perinatal and newborn health outcomes. I’m the owner of Atala Doula Services, serving the Sacramento region and surrounding counties of northern California. Having spent most of my adult working life as a technical writer, which involves gathering information from subject matter experts and creating written resources that even non-technical people can easily understand and follow, I realized the work was not as rewarding or fulfilling as I wish it would be. So, I embarked on some introspection to evaluate my personality, my strengths, what I enjoyed about my prior work, and what I most want to do in the future…be a source of support and empowerment for others.

Hire Gina if you're looking for a positive birth experience! I was the first of my friends to have a Doula and wasn't quite sure what to expect. It ended up being one of the best decisions involving my pregnancy/delivery because she was so supportive and valuable every step of the way. Gina helped me prepare for giving birth by meeting with me and discussing my fears about labor, how to best support me, strategies for a smooth labor, etc. She was on-call for me and met my family and I at the hospital immediately when we called her (at midnight) when I went into labor. Gina was so professional with the hospital staff and my family. She provided strategies and aid to keep me comfortable throughout labor and helped me understand what was happening and what to expect next. Yes there were nurses to help, but they had other patients requiring their care and Gina was a constant, knowledgeable, and calm presence. Gina was also extremely helpful during the delivery and did not leave my side afterward until she knew that I was stable and moving to the postpartum room to rest. She's been so supportive during these postpartum weeks and I'm so grateful to her! While Gina's support was a service that I paid for, she has genuinely felt like family throughout this experience. She went so above and beyond for me and my baby and made our experience a special one.
