The cost of a midwife in Grand Prairie, TX can be influenced by several factors:

  • Type of Midwife

Certified Nurse-Midwives (CNMs) who work in hospital settings may have different pricing than Certified Professional Midwives (CPMs) who attend home births or birth center deliveries.

  • Birth Setting

Hospital births with a midwife typically cost less out-of-pocket when covered by insurance, while home births and birth center deliveries may have different fee structures.

  • Scope of Services

Many midwives offer comprehensive packages that include prenatal visits, labor and delivery support, and postpartum care, which can affect the overall cost.

  • Insurance Coverage

Texas Medicaid covers care provided by certified nurse-midwives, including prenatal visits, birth, and postpartum services. Benefits for home or birth-center deliveries attended by licensed or certified professional midwives depend on the individual Medicaid plan. Grand Prairie has an active local market, with 23 midwives listed within 60 miles. Private insurance coverage also varies by policy, so check your plan’s network and benefits.

  • Experience and Specialization

Midwives with extensive experience, additional certifications, or specializations such as VBAC support or water birth may charge higher rates.

  • Geographic Location

Midwifery costs can vary based on the cost of living and demand for midwifery services in your specific area.

Mozeke is a graduate of Mercy In Action College of Midwifery where she obtained a Bachelors of Science in Midwifery degree. She also has a Bachelors of Arts from the University of Louisiana at Monroe and a Masters of Arts in Arts, Entertainment and Media Management from Columbia College Chicago. Mozeke believes that midwifery care should be an affordable and easily accessible option for any pregnant person who desires holistic, evidence-based, family centered care where pregnancy is not viewed as an illness but rather a unique and normal process of life. She is dedicated to serving families in the Dallas-Fort Worth area through education, nutritional counseling, advocacy, prenatal, labor, birth and postpartum care.

Mozeke was the sweetest midwife. Better than I could have hoped for. She took us on late in my pregnancy after I decided against a hospital birth and made the process so easy and beautiful!

I'm Taylor, your dedicated birth and postpartum doula. As a native of Dallas, my life's journey has been a blend of enriching experiences and fulfilling adventures, all of which have guided me to my true calling—supporting new families during the prenatal & postpartum period. Right after college, I embarked on a transformative adventure to Thailand. Living and teaching in this beautiful country was an eye-opening experience that profoundly shaped my worldview. It was here that I found my inspiration to live freely, purposefully, and in service to others. In my everyday life, I love juicing and cooking. When I’m not assisting families, you can find me hiking the trails around Dallas, reading or traveling. I also cherish going to the movies. Pregnancy and postpartum are crucial for both the baby and the parents. As your birth/postpartum doula, my goal is to provide unwavering support, compassionate care, and practical guidance. Drawing from my holistic experiences and nurturing spirit, I am here to ensure that this transition is as smooth and joyful as possible for you and your family. I look forward to working with you and supporting your family during this precious time. Together, we can create a nurturing environment where both you and your baby can thrive.

Taylor was such a light during my journey as a first time mom. Her kindness and care for others radiates out of her. I found in her a place of support as we discussed everything from breastfeeding to the return of my cycles. We also trusted her with the care of our sweet baby, whom she tenderly watched over. We are so grateful for Taylor!

Hello! I'm Melinda, wife to Seth, and mother to Abigail, Luke, Keturah, Naomi, Isaac, Elijah, and Mattias. While my family lived in South Africa(2018-2019), I was blessed to become a certified doula through their WOMBS (women offering mothers birth support) program. Along with in-person classes, I experienced hands-on doula opportunities with laboring women in 2 different hospital locations in Johannesburg. I believe this experience opened my heart to truly seeing the importance of having a strong support system during pregnancy, labor, delivery, and postpartum. Children are a blessing from the Lord and every mother deserves the best through her pregnancy/delivery. I personally have experienced 3 hospital births, 2 birth center deliveries, and 2 home births. I am here to support you and help you make the most memorable and peaceful birth possible. If you are pregnant and would like the support of a doula, please reach out to me. I would love to meet you and see if I am the right doula for you.

We are so incredibly grateful that we hired Melinda as our doula. From the very beginning, she was always available to answer our questions and provide reassurance, and she brought such a calm and comforting presence to our birth experience. Our little one decided to arrive early, and Melinda was incredibly flexible and showed up when we needed her. Throughout labor, she offered so many helpful recommendations for position changes, pain management techniques, and ways to work through each stage. She also helped my husband feel much more confident in how to support me through some of the most difficult parts of labor, which meant so much to both of us. Our birth experience ended up being drastically different from what we had planned, but Melinda was wonderful at helping us pivot, supporting us through the unexpected, and encouraging us as we made decisions along the way. I especially appreciated that she prayed over us right before delivery. It was such a meaningful and comforting moment that I will always remember. I would absolutely recommend Melinda to any expecting family—and I already have! She was an incredible source of support, encouragement, and calm during one of the most important and challenging experiences of our lives. We are so thankful she was there to help us welcome our little one into the world.

First, as a sister and a friend, then as a mother myself, I have seen the medical system sew fear and doubt into women regarding their body's capability to achieve what it was intended to. The truth is, childbirth is both natural and miraculous. I believe that every woman has the right to decide what interventions she wants to use in childbirth without the use of fear, but instead through true informed consent. I continue learning daily how best to help each new mama, both through lived experiences and through research, and will gladly share my knowledge. I also believe that every woman should be supported through the most vulnerable and powerful moment of her life. In a system that pushes women away from their natural state, I am here to be that calming support and fierce advocate.

I am SO grateful to Barbara! She was a trusted guide and resource from the moment she joined my birth team. Barbara advocated for me throughout my hospital birth labor and I ended up with the best birth experience. Barbara's encouragement and her hands-on assistance during delivery gave me the birth experience I had truly prayed for. Barbara provided me and husband confidence and peace of mind throughout my pregnancy and during labor. Barbara literally held me up during the pushing phase! She provided security to me in her advocacy. Barbara empowered me throughout my pregnancy and birth. To have Barbara with you during your pregnancy and birth is truly a gift. I am forever grateful for Barbara. If I am blessed with another pregnancy, I will be asking Barbara to be my doula again. I am full of gratitude for everything Barbara did for me and my family.
