Hi, I'm Suzanne Nicklas! I'm a Registered Nurse, IBCLC, Doula and Health Coach based in Greenville, SC. As a nurse, my passion has been working with new parents and infants. I have worked with hundreds of families in my fifteen years as a lactation consultant and doula. I love educating families prior to the birth of their baby and particularly enjoy the postpartum period. As the mother of four, my own birth experiences led me to this work. I offer 24/7 on call Lactation "office hours" to assist families at any time of day or night. My passion for wellness started many years ago when I took the first of many health coach trainings, the first being through the Institute for Integrative Nutrition. I began health coaching in 2010 and since then my practice has transformed and grown in many ways. As I have grown as a person, so has my work. Along the way I have picked up skills based on my own personal interests and broadened my education and am able to share those with both my lactation and doula clients as well as my coaching clients. Some of these training include yoga, aromatherapy and reiki. It is my love of combining conventional and alternative philosophies of care that led me to Ayurveda and Yoga. My trainings have enabled me to blend the wisdom of Eastern medicine into our Western way of living to create lifestyle transformations that work in our busy day to day lives. All of my services are offered both virtually and in person. Lastly but most importantly, as a partner and mother of four amazing humans, I bring both personal experience and professional care to the families I serve. Mikaela strives to offer a highly personalized birth experience by mindfully tuning in to each of her clients’ individual needs. Mikaela understands just how intimate and transformative the process that comes with bringing life into the world is, and it’s because of this that she does not believe in a “one size fits all” approach. Marcelle (she/her) is an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), an RN since 1999 and founder of Wholesome Lactation Care, PLLC. As a mother of two, Marcelle became inspired by her own breastfeeding journey. Most of her career has been focused on working with children and families in their homes and through community-based programs. In 2012, she oversaw a teen parent program in a Florida high school. She initiated breast/chestfeeding support programs along with childbirth education to prepare teen parents. As a result, parents breastfed their infants at a much higher rate than average. There was a significant reduction in infections among babies which allowed parents to stay in school and complete their education. This led her to become an IBCLC in 2017. She currently works as an IBCLC in her community and brings her expertise to help empower families with feeding issues such as mastitis, difficulty latching, nipple pain, low milk supply, exclusive pumping, engorged breasts, tongue-tie, laryngomalacia, low weight gain, colic and much more. Post Helene, she volunteered with NC SAFE Infant feeding program. She also brings 20 years of herbalism and nutrition knowledge and will customize your visit to your needs. Marcelle takes multiple health insurances and can do home visits, telehealth and office visits.

hi, I’m a current active mother baby nurse and have been doing this job for 18 years now. I’ve realized I would like to care for newborns but not in the hospital setting. I am very clean and calm. as well as a very good communicator from all my years in the hospital. I value peace and harmony and hold the family in the highest esteem. I love nature and have lived here for over 30 years and have been married for over 30 years. My two children are 25 and 30 and my daughter who is 30 will be moving back home with her husband. I don’t have any grandchildren yet and my husband ran the local college farm for 20 years. I’m a closet artist and my house is filling up with beautiful art I have created over the last 10 years. My husband and I also love to garden and have lots of house plants and orchids.

I’ve worked in healthcare for most of my adult life and I’ve noticed that as women, especially women of color, LGBTQIA+, and those of certain social status tend to be at higher risk of adverse birth experiences. We need advocates and other women to help support our path to better care. Did you know that 1 in 4 women experience symptoms of postpartum depression?
