Suzanne Nicklas, RN, IBCLC

11 years of experience

Hi, I'm Suzanne Nicklas! I'm a Registered Nurse, IBCLC, Doula and Health Coach based in Greenville, SC. As a nurse, my passion has been working with new parents and infants. I have worked with hundreds of families in my fifteen years as a lactation consultant and doula. I love educating families prior to the birth of their baby and particularly enjoy the postpartum period. As the mother of four, my own birth experiences led me to this work. I offer 24/7 on call Lactation "office hours" to assist families at any time of day or night. My passion for wellness started many years ago when I took the first of many health coach trainings, the first being through the Institute for Integrative Nutrition. I began health coaching in 2010 and since then my practice has transformed and grown in many ways. As I have grown as a person, so has my work. Along the way I have picked up skills based on my own personal interests and broadened my education and am able to share those with both my lactation and doula clients as well as my coaching clients. Some of these training include yoga, aromatherapy and reiki. It is my love of combining conventional and alternative philosophies of care that led me to Ayurveda and Yoga. My trainings have enabled me to blend the wisdom of Eastern medicine into our Western way of living to create lifestyle transformations that work in our busy day to day lives. All of my services are offered both virtually and in person. Lastly but most importantly, as a partner and mother of four amazing humans, I bring both personal experience and professional care to the families I serve. I am honored that you have chosen to visit my site and I look forward to working together.

Ava Babinski

I'm Ava; a very passionate birth and postpartum doula devoted to supporting women who desire a calm, instinctive, and physiological birth experience. My love for birth began early in life when I witnessed my own mother bring two of my younger brothers into the world through 2 peaceful homebirths. Watching the strength, intuition, and beauty of those moments deeply shaped my belief that birth is not something to fear, but something to trust. My philosophy centers on honoring the body's natural design for birth- not the societally pushed or man-created model of birth that often leads women to doubt their own instinct. I believe that birth "works" best when it is protected, undisturbed, and guided by a mother's intuition. When women are supported with evidence-based information, true informed consent, and a peaceful environment, their bodies are capable of incredible things. my approach prioritizes physiologic birth, instinctive movement, and protecting the natural hormone flow that supports labor, bonding, and postpartum recovery. I especially love supporting families who are drawn to physiological birth, low- intervention options, and creating a birth environment that feels peaceful and intentional. Whether you're planning a homebirth or simply hoping for a more natural and supported experience, I am here to walk alongside you with steady support, evidence-based information, and wholehearted encouragement.

5/5 ⭐️ Ava was an amazing doula to have! She is so sweet and compassionate and responsive to both mother’s and father’s needs during labor and delivery! She helped us with learning and getting into different laboring positions, keeping track of minutes, various calming techniques (i.e. aroma therapy, hydrotherapy, etc.), use of different tools (i.e. birthing comb, peanut ball, etc.), and timing our departure for the birthing center just right! She was so encouraging during my labor and delivery and incredibly supportive postpartum too with a gift basket, foot massage, and demonstration of how to wrap a belly binder. I had the best experience with her and will definitely be reaching out again in the future! Highly recommend!

Jernae Webb

I’m Jernae Webb, the owner of Divinity Doula a full continuum‑of‑care agency supporting families through birth, postpartum, early learning, and nanny placement. Supporting parents is truly one of the joys of my life. Families often tell me, “We’re so glad you’re here,” or “You’ve really helped us through this season,” and hearing that never gets old. It reminds me why this work doesn’t feel like work at all. I love witnessing the little smiles, the tiny milestones, and the quiet moments of confidence that grow in new parents. I remember being a first‑time mom myself. All of the unknowns, all the firsts, and that experience is the heart behind everything I do. It’s why I’m committed to creating steady, supportive care that helps families feel held, prepared, and never alone. Alongside my team’s birth, postpartum, and nanny placement support, I also host monthly mommy gatherings to offer connection, education, and community. I support families beginning their homeschooling journey as well, helping them build early learning foundations with confidence and joy.

Highly recommend Jernae! She brings a calming energy to your home, which is so needed postpartum. Her services allowed us to get hours and hours of unbroken sleep, delicious food, and a more functional household overall! We felt so comfortable with her presence in the home and her care of our newborn son.

Hello everyone! My passion for childbirth support stems from my own personal experiences as a mother. I understand firsthand the intense emotions and physical challenges that come with bringing new life into the world. My experience allows me to provide personalized care to each family, ensuring they feel empowered and supported throughout the entire process. As a luxury doula, I understand that my services extend far beyond traditional birthing support. I approach each family with a holistic perspective, providing not only physical support during childbirth; but also emotional and mental support throughout the pregnancy and postpartum period. As a seasoned mother, I have had the pleasure of experiencing childbirth in a variety of settings. With each birth, I had different preferences, needs, and desires for my delivery experience. After my last son was born I knew I wanted to cater to all birthing people and their partners. To be able to experience a natural positive birth as I did was a pure luxury to me. I had a vision of what more I could offer to birthing people and I can’t wait to bring my vision to life with each and every one of you! My first childbirth experience was at a hospital. As a first-time mom, I wanted the security and reassurance provided by medical professionals, and the hospital seemed like the safest choice. I appreciated the access to advanced medical technology, the availability of an epidural, and the presence of nurses and doctors to guide me through the process. Although I appreciated them if I would have known what I know now, or had the luxury of affording a doula I know my choices would have been a little different. The hospital setting did give me anxiety and being uninformed did not help with that at all. My second childbirth experience was at a birthing center. At this point, I was more confident in my ability to give birth and sought a more natural and calming environment. The staff at the birthing center provided a homier atmosphere with dimmed lights and soothing music. I felt more in control of my delivery and was able to move around freely, switch between different positions, and use a birthing tub. I was able to use the power of hypnobirthing during my second childbirth experience and it was truly life-changing. For the entire labor process, I felt absolutely no pain at all. The personalized care and attention given to me and my family were exceptional in the birthing center especially with them listening to me advocate for myself and my body. My third and last childbirth experience was at home. By this time, I had a strong desire for a true home birth experience. My home birth was the absolute most empowering moment of my life. I was surrounded by family only up until my transition phase in which my husband called my own personal Doula over and she gracefully helped me out of that last phase and to slowly breathe my baby out. My dedication to my clients is unwavering, and I am committed to helping you achieve a positive, safe, and fulfilling birth experience. With me as your luxury doula, you can rest assured that you and your family will receive exceptional care, support, and guidance every step of the way.

Recent newborn care specialist reviews near Greenwood

I am writing this review as a WARNING to all expectant moms, especially first time mothers. I would give Johrdan 0 stars if allowed here. I apologize in advance for the length of this review. It has been a horrible process dealing with Johrdan's scams and if you want an honest review of her services from someone who has actually used her business, then mine is the one. We met with Johrdan for a consultation in mid March '25, about a month after I found out that I was pregnant. She spoke of glorious experiences during her own birth, how she would support us throughout our pregnancy, doesn't matter the time. One thing she did note in our consult, which in hindsight we should have known she was bad news, is that if any "problems arise then we should all be able to talk about it like adults" because she is all about "good vibes and good energy, and big on communication" and that's how she likes to maintain her business relationships. Lies. Now we are not rich AT ALL. My partner works a minimum wage job and I was a teacher assistant and student on medicaid. We paid Johrdan in full $1200 at the signing of the contract. BIG MISTAKE. (I found out from my midwives later after telling them what Johrdan has put us through that doulas in our area usually do not accept full payment. It is often half up front and half after the baby is born). The most important points that Johrdan breached in our contract outlined 4 prenatal visits and response to texts and calls within 3 hrs in the first 37 weeks. She ONLY met with us again on March 31st after the consult. What followed from then until I told her we would be terminating our contract with her in July was: a series of sparsely answered texts coming within weeks of us reaching out; unfulfilled promises to share information outside of some pictures taken on a phone of papers with bullet points about what to expect from pregnancy and birth lol that we could have and did find on our own on the first page of a google search; emails sent to the wrong addresses over the course of months; standing us up on appointments twice with no notice or word until WE contacted her; and FINALLY ghosting us without refunding our money for lack of service. Throughout all of this, she wouldn't respond to messages for weeks at a time and then called literally twice to laugh and say "girl, I've just been so busy," promise to send information and then not do it until we would ask about it days later, only to send it days after the inquiry. The second and final time she called (out of our entire contract with her) it was to say she'd send her birth plan template, one that ended up being an online template from Earth Mama Organics. she never sent it until I asked again then she set up an appointment which she stood us up for without word. then she stood us up again at the one she rescheduled after standing us up! She had the audacity to ask for another chance to be a better doula for us because she *quit* her job. We said no of course but then we found out that she posted a gofundme for herself alleging that she *lost* her job and has exhausted all of her resources (one of them actually being the money she stole from us) so she needs help getting money for her custody battle. I am not here to judge for that, I am more concerned with why she wasn't upfront that she could not fulfill the duties we paid her for, refunded our money and then we could have all went about our ways. Instead, she ghosted us with our money and added on to an extremely stressful time in my pregnancy that eventually sent me into preterm labor at 35weeks. This was a YEAR ago. To this day she refuses to answer us back with even a plan of how she will pay us back, as is outlined in her contract. Dealing with Johrdan has not at all been a luxury experience. It has been unprofessional at least and a complete scam at most. DO NOT, for any reason, choose Johrdan's business for your doula services. You will be disappointed. She has a lot of maturing before she is able to extend trust to her clients. Please do not find yourself and your family in the predicament we are still in with her now.

Jessica was our doula and wow..she went above and beyond for us! As a first time mom, she was exactly what my husband and I needed. I had a hospital birth that didn’t go the smoothest, jessica found a way to still make it as comfortable and as calm as possible. She has such a servants heart and I can’t wait to use her again in the future!

— Makaela P., review of Jessica Ebersole June 2026

We thought we weren’t going to use a doula until we got introduced to Jessica! She has a true comfort about her and we vibed immediately. During my very long labor that lead to a hospital transfer, she didn’t skip a beat. She prayed with me when things were really scary and she remembered all of my desires, advocating for each of them. My husband and I would highly recommend Jessica for your doula needs! She is empathetic, a true advocate and knows how to read a room!
