Before I went to Jade's childbirth class at Montclair BABY, I had never heard of a doula. Her class was holistic of all the options during labor and delivery, and my husband and I felt like Jade could be the perfect support person to ease my anxiety during pregnancy and labor. We were absolutely right. Jade offered continuous comfort and information for me throughout my pregnancy. She is extremely knowledgeable and thorough and gave advice for things I hadn't even considered. Being someone who has always been terrified of childbirth, Jade eased my anxiety leaps and bounds. We prepared for it beforehand, but once I went into labor, Jade supported us over the phone and at my home before we went to the hospital. My birth went from something that I used to fear, to something I now look back on with fond memories (I think that's a wild transformation) and I truly credit a lot of that to Jade. She was an advocate for me at the hospital, she rarely left my side except when I needed alone time with my husband, and she encouraged me. She worked cooperatively with the rest of the birth team. Dare I say birth was actually a little fun? I whole heartedly recommend Jade as a doula and would love to have her at my future births. There really aren't enough words to describe how grateful I am for her.

Hi! I was born and raised in Peekskill, NY, and currently split my time between Westchester County and New Jersey. I’m a bi-racial birth worker, massage therapist and reiki practitioner ☺️ I’ve been a NYS licensed massage therapist for the past 7 years, and that work has helped me lay the foundation to how I like to approach my work as a birth worker. In my free time you’d likely catch me curled up with my kindle reading southern gothic horror or romance( I know they’re vastly different lol), journaling, and/or shuffling one of my tarot or oracle decks. My goal is to create a space where you can breathe deeply, trust yourself, and feel cared for every step of the way.

I don’t know how I would have navigated my pregnancy and birth without Alexa. I wish I had found her earlier in my pregnancy but she showed up at just the right time! From my very first massage with Alexa, she made me feel seen, heard, and cared for. She took the time to understand my fears and hopes, and she held space for me in a way that made a world of difference. During pregnancy, her massages were moments where I could finally exhale, feel safe, and reconnect with my body. During labor, she was my anchor, reminding me that I was capable, and this was MY birth. Alexa was a source of warmth, reassurance, and love through our most vulnerable moments. She massaged my very swollen legs and feet all night into the morning, helped me find comfortable positions, and encouraged me every step of the way. But it was during my birth that her presence became something I will never forget. I did not have an easy delivery but Alexa brought comfort when I felt scared, strength when I felt overwhelmed, and a sense of calm that grounded me through every contraction and every wave of emotion that came after. Her massages helped me feel human again when pregnancy felt heavy, and her support during labor helped me tap into a strength I didn’t know existed inside me. Alexa's presence gave me the confidence I needed to endure such an intense experience. I’ll forever be thankful for her support. I also loved having her in our home for our postpartum visit and sharing my beautiful boy with her. For any first-time mom, Alexa is an absolute gift. She gave us more than support, she gave us peace. I’ll treasure her role in our story forever.??

Hi New Parents & Returning Parents, My name is Anjanette Rebecca. I’m birth obsessed & I finally have the courage to admit it. I’m a little of a lot of things. I’m a full spectrum doula who supports families and individuals across all walks of life. From zygote to 130 years old. Reproductive health is who I am. Bodily autonomy is what I’ve supported since I was a child. I stepped into my mother’s shoes at an early age. My mother was the original reproductive health guru. My mom passed away before I had time to say goodbye. Grief became the catalyst that changed my life for the best. I meet Individuals and families that are kind enough to trust me with something so sacred. That will always be one of the biggest blessing in my life. I’ve cared for thousands of clients locally & internationally. My ultimate goal is YOU. Your family, your very valid fears, your tears & your happiness. I guide expectant families and individuals in embodying their role as the first teacher in their children’s life. Our body is our children’s first home, it will and always should be respected. Dads, that includes you. Your little one finds comfort in your presence before they’re even born. Your voice and kisses will be one of your child’s favorite things. My business & my baby, Birth & Beyond, NYC is an extension of my family; fellow educators like myself, with a combined 206 years of supporting vulnerable populations in New York City. In October 2026, I will celebrate 26 years in the healthcare industry, 18 years as a registered nurse. It’s an honor to be a part of birth, an intimate time for families to come together. I navigated my first pregnancy alone-there’s so much power in being a single parent too. I’m here to hold individuals & families through one of the most breathtaking and potentially chaotic moments of their lives. Parenthood is a massive upgrade and a heroic space to hold. Please don’t let the internet scare you. It scares me! But we have access to so much information. It is normal to feel overwhelmed by it. I pray that you enter pregnancy & your birth space with confidence. Tap me in if you need someone to kick the door off its hinges, metaphorically speaking of course :) As for me, I’m a Brooklyn native, currently enjoying life in Staten Island, NY. I spend most my time having juicy conversations, tending to 179 indoor plants, barefoot & not pregnant :) I spend time off social media, reading books and finding myself in nature. Having Michelle as part of our birth process was one of the absolute best decisions we made. We really wanted someone who had a deep knowledge and could help prepare us yet also be emotionally / psychologically supportive - and she was incredible. Her calm yet empowering energy, her levelheaded acumen, her kind consideration and openness - she made all the difference not only in the delivery room but before and after as well! Michelle prepared us thoroughly regarding what to expect, provided us lots of 'tools' (i.e. resources, information, exercises, etc) to have in our toolbox, and when things were happening during labor she was a grounding presence able to help ask the right questions, make sure I was approaching things the way I wanted to, and we felt incredibly supported the whole time. She made the room a little oasis which I truly believe contributed to me relaxing and ultimately having a smooth delivery. She is the best - anyone would be lucky to have her on their team. <3

Our experience with Liz was truly wonderful! With Liz, you will feel safe, heard, & held through one of the most important moments of your life. When we initially spoke, it was probably 2 minutes into the conversation when we knew she was the right doula. The call ended, my husband & I looked at each other & immediately said, "I LOVED her." Liz laid out everything that we should expect, & did it in a way where we didn't feel judged. Others had tried to convince us that we had unresolved trauma, or had made mistakes in previous births. Liz's trust in us knowing what we needed was so reassuring. During the pregnancy, Liz is there if you need her, checking in to see how appts. went, & getting a feel for your mindset approaching birth. Liz was vital in my ability to remain calm as my due date came, then passed by 9 days! We discussd ways to help encourage labor, different scenarios as 42 weeks approached, & reassurances that my baby & body knew what they were doing. Being a 3rd time mom I really thought I knew it all, but when things went so much longer than we all expected, I was so grateful to have Liz's calm & confident presence. At OBC, Liz arrived exactly when I needed her. She easily fit into the flow of labor offering assistance to me, & guiding my husband to help through contractions. Liz understands when to step to the forefront, & also when to hang back. Her experience & presence in the birthing space made me feel more supported & calm than I had previously. My labor was fast, but I never felt like I lost control. Liz took stunning photos during birth, capturing all of the phases of labor, recovery, & beautiful shots of the baby. The photos will be cherished by our family for the rest of our lives! Liz doesn't disappear after you're done having the baby. She checks in during your recovery at home, & even comes to visit. We loved working with Liz!

Britt Sando

I’ve been working with childbearing families in northern New Jersey for many years, and I strive to bring the knowledge and experience I’ve gained to each of my clients. My great joy is helping people find their own path, and trying to make it more comfy along the way.

Recent review

When I contacted Britt, I was 12 weeks pregnant with my first baby. I really desired to have a relationship with my doctor, but since most OBGYN practices have you seeing multiple professionals, I was not getting that. I was desiring to go the natural birth-in-a-hospital route and hearing other friends’ stories, a doula sounded like the perfect fit. Britt was recommended by one of my friends who had Britt attend and help at all three of her babies’ births. Britt offered us a birthing course in our home, she gave us literature and resources to use an practice as we anticipated our first birth, she was ALWAYS responsive when texted or called, was informed about alternatives such as the Fresh Test, and she was a great help and encouragement to my husband pre-birth, during labor and delivery and after birth. Britt knew what I wanted - when we got to the hospital and we were almost put into a room without a tub, she was there ADVOCATING for us (since a tub room was available and it was my hope to labor in one). Britt is levelheaded, intelligent, witty, and has an excellent sense of humor. She tells it like it is. She is loving and compassionate - truly a gift from heaven. She checked in on me all throughout my pregnancy and after my baby was born. As she put it to me, “Once your doula, always your doula.” To put it simply, hire Britt as your doula. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Hello! Most couples are looking for a positive environment where you feel respected, safe, and ready to welcome your new baby. I understand that as your doula I help set the tone and bring energy into your space that will be part of your family's blueprint forever. I have a compassionate, client-centered approach. I bring warmth, love, and extensive knowledge to each family as well as their providers. I bring strong advocacy skills while reducing fear and fostering confidence. I also provide lactation consultations and all modalities of massage including prenatal and postpartum.

Hiring Neisha was one of the best decisions I made as I prepared for childbirth, and I would whole-heartedly recommend her to anyone. While I was initially unsure about whether I wanted to hire a doula, after interviewing Neisha I was convinced that it would be helpful to bring her on to support me and my husband before, during, and after the delivery of our first child, and I was not disappointed. I ultimately had a very positive birth experience, and I credit Neisha for giving me the preparation, knowledge, and validation needed to make informed decisions and clearly communicate my preferences during labor and delivery. Early on, she provided us with ample online resources to begin our childbirth preparation. During our prenatal meetings we developed a birth plan, practiced comfort techniques, and discussed the essentials of breastfeeding and newborn care. Throughout my labor Neisha calmly fielded our increasingly anxious calls about whether to take Pitocin and when to begin the epidural. She was a reassuring presence in the delivery room, suggesting alternative positions and providing encouragement to me and my husband through two hours of pushing. Postpartum, Neisha helped with breastfeeding, and continued to check in for several weeks after the end of our official contract as I dealt with a difficult and unexpected complication. Neisha’s professionalism and expertise combined with her warmth and sense of humor made her an invaluable part of my birth team. I would absolutely hire her again. (PS - she is also an incredible massage therapist!)

Hi, I’m Claire. I was inspired after a difficult first birth to learn more about childbirth, pregnancy and lactation and it quickly became a passion to support women in their pregnancies and postpartum periods. I have been honored to spend over 10 years supporting pregnant women. I am a DONA certified doula in childbirth and lactation offering birth, prenatal, and postpartum services. My own births have run the gamut from a Northern California birthing center to NY's largest hospital, giving me unique perspective across the many ways and places women can give birth. Additionally, I have worked as a caregiver for serious medical events outside of birth, giving me the ability to navigate the medical system with efficiency to maximally benefit patients. I utilize an evidence-based and compassionate approach to advocating for parents in the birthing room. I also offer emotional and physical assistance for all birth types and outcomes to a diverse set of families. I am is honored to work with families to give them the best experience possible during their births. Postpartum, I offer home visits and non-judgmental and reassuring lactation support. I was born and raised in Westchester County and am based in Armonk, NY. I am the mother to two young daughters and enjoys exploring the outdoors, photography, sewing and reading outside of my birthwork.

Claire was an invaluable and irreplaceable part of our birth experience. Claire's experience and guidance helped us thoughtfully create a birth plan that met our goals, which included managing my own expectations. As these things go, my birth plan was merely the road map for a very different series of events, and every step of the way, Claire was incredibly supportive in both the physical and emotional elements of the birth of our daughter. Claire’s presence and advocacy was instrumental to my husband and I communicating effectively with the hospital team and her support following the birth was immeasurable, both in hospital and at home post-partum. Her contributions to our birth exceeded my expectations, especially under unexpected circumstances. Claire's practice of providing us with evidence-based information needed to make our own informed decisions was grounding and invaluable. We are so thankful for Claire's support throughout our first pregnancy and birth.
