Hi! I’m currently about 5 weeks pregnant with my first baby, and I’m looking for a midwife who serves the Fairland/Shelby County area for a planned home birth, potentially a water birth. I’m hoping to find someone who provides comprehensive prenatal care, including routine labs, ultrasounds or referrals for ultrasounds, and any other necessary testing throughout pregnancy, as well as postpartum care. I’d love to learn more about your services, availability for my estimated due date of June 7, 2027, and the total cost of care. I’m 29 weeks currently pregnant with my third. I’m still in the process of transferring my insurance since I have moved to Valparaiso IN. I desire a homebirth.

3rd baby. Had last baby 16 months ago. Natural birth no meds, no tearing, fast birth. Used midwife at hospital but open to options. Healthy baby at birth, no complications. Gestational diabetes last part of pregnancy was managed with diet and some medication. I will be 44 at time of next birth.

I’m currently 28 weeks along (just entered my third trimester) with my second baby. I’m looking for an out-of-hospital midwife to help me plan for my home birth and postpartum care. I delivered my first baby in a hospital and I am choosing to not go that route again this time. I had a bad experience and it was not beneficial to me, my husband, or my baby. My birth plan as of right now only consists of birthing at home with just my husband present and the midwife. I would like to broaden my birth plan with a midwife. I’m interested in having a midwife come to my house once every two weeks for now and then once a week a few weeks before I go into labor. (I’ve never had a midwife so I’m unaware of how often they work with the pregnant mothers.) I’m also interested in seeing if Medicaid covers for an in-home midwife or not, and if not what the cost would be.

First baby planning on giving birth at the hospital medicated with little interventions and no inductions I’m 34 weeks pregnant and have anthem hip for insurance.

Almost 12 weeks, looking for a midwife to help with my first baby and would love an at-home water birth. I love Jesus and hope someone with the same beliefs will want to help guide me with faith-based encouragement and care. I am looking for a midwife who provides evidence-based, holistic care and has a strong belief in the normal physiological process of pregnancy and birth. My preference is for a planned home birth, although I am also open to a freestanding or birth-center birth, especially as my husband is more comfortable with a hospital setting. I want prenatal care to feel safe, supportive, and educational. This is my first pregnancy, so I want as much education and preparation as possible—not only about pregnancy and birth, but also nutrition, exercise, sleep, stress, supplements, postpartum recovery, breastfeeding, newborn care, and how my husband can support me. I want a provider who takes the time to answer questions, explains the reasoning and evidence behind recommendations, and never makes me feel silly for asking something. My preference is for low-intervention care when pregnancy and labor are progressing normally. I hope for an unmedicated birth with freedom of movement, the ability to labor in water, different pushing positions, spontaneous pushing, immediate skin-to-skin, and my husband actively involved. I want a calm, private, cozy birth environment with as few unnecessary people and interruptions as possible. At the same time, I am not opposed to medical intervention when it is truly indicated or supported by good evidence. I want a midwife who is confident in physiologic birth but also medically competent, proactive about identifying potential problems, and willing to clearly tell me when something is outside the normal range and what we should do about it. Ultimately, I want someone who will help me and my husband understand our options and make informed decisions while advocating for what is safest for me and the baby. Because one of my biggest concerns about home birth is what would happen if something unexpected occurred, it is very important to me that my midwife have a clear hospital-transfer plan and be able to communicate with the hospital team and advocate for my birth preferences if a transfer becomes necessary. Ideally, I would want my midwife to remain involved during a transfer when possible. More than anything, I am looking for a midwife who is warm, honest, knowledgeable, calm, and trustworthy—someone who respects that my body was made to give birth while also putting the safety and well-being of my baby first.

Hi! This is our first baby and we are leaning toward a hospital birth since there are no birth centers in the area. We don't have a specific birth plan yet but want to be as natural and unmedicated as possible. Especially in a hospital setting - we don't want any of the "standard" monitoring and medicine forced on us. I would prefer a hospital birth, I don’t know what to budget as I don’t even know what the range may be, I am looking for a ob/midwife that allows past 40 weeks, allows different birthing positions, and on the same page as me.

Looking for information on home birth and someone to assist during labor No set budget I am plus size so would love some with experience

Wanting to do a home birth with my 4th. I will have a doula. Used a doula with my 3rd. A hoping to budget between 3-4000 if possible. I went natural with my 2nd and 3rd tho with my 2nd I was induced because I was high risk. Low risk with my 3rd and low risk with this pregnancy. I am having a boy. But do not plan on any shots, testing, or vaccinations.
