After a traumatic birth experience with her first child, she felt an overwhelming desire to become a doula. Then, by Allah's infinite mercy, she used the knowledge gained from her AMANI Birth training during the birth of her second child to experience a natural delivery. I was also wildly uninformed about the rates of maternal morbidity amongst black women. These coupled ideas made me feel really uneasy about my birthing experience. I wanted to make a difference after my experience and becoming a doula turned out to be my life's passion.
