What's the Cost of Hiring a Midwife in Keller, TX?

The cost of a midwife in Keller, TX, can vary depending on the services provided, the midwife's experience, and whether you're delivering at home, in a birthing center, or elsewhere. Generally, midwife services for prenatal care, delivery, and postpartum care can range from $3,000 to $6,000 or more. Some midwives may offer payment plans, and costs could be partially covered by insurance depending on your policy. It's best to contact local midwives or birthing centers in Keller directly for specific pricing details.

The cost of a midwife in Keller, TX can be influenced by several factors:

  • Type of Midwife

Certified Nurse-Midwives (CNMs) who work in hospital settings may have different pricing than Certified Professional Midwives (CPMs) who attend home births or birth center deliveries.

  • Birth Setting

Hospital births with a midwife typically cost less out-of-pocket when covered by insurance, while home births and birth center deliveries may have different fee structures.

  • Scope of Services

Many midwives offer comprehensive packages that include prenatal visits, labor and delivery support, and postpartum care, which can affect the overall cost.

  • Insurance Coverage

Whether insurance covers the cost of a midwife in Keller, TX, depends on your specific insurance plan and the midwife's credentials. Many insurance plans cover midwifery services, especially if the midwife is licensed or certified and practicing in a facility or setting recognized by the insurer. Some plans may only cover services provided by Certified Nurse Midwives (CNMs) and not Certified Professional Midwives (CPMs) or direct-entry midwives. Additionally, coverage may depend on whether the midwife is in-network or out-of-network. It’s best to contact your insurance provider to confirm coverage details, including any out-of-pocket costs, and verify with the midwife if they accept your insurance.

  • Experience and Specialization

Midwives with extensive experience, additional certifications, or specializations such as VBAC support or water birth may charge higher rates.

  • Geographic Location

Midwifery costs can vary based on the cost of living and demand for midwifery services in your specific area.

When considering hiring a midwife in Keller, TX, it's advisable to research and interview several midwives to find one who aligns with your birth plan, preferences, and budget. During consultations, you can discuss their specific services, insurance acceptance, and pricing structure to ensure you have a clear understanding of what is included and the associated costs.

Hello! I'm Melinda, wife to Seth, and mother to Abigail, Luke, Keturah, Naomi, Isaac, Elijah, and Mattias. While my family lived in South Africa(2018-2019), I was blessed to become a certified doula through their WOMBS (women offering mothers birth support) program. Along with in-person classes, I experienced hands-on doula opportunities with laboring women in 2 different hospital locations in Johannesburg. I believe this experience opened my heart to truly seeing the importance of having a strong support system during pregnancy, labor, delivery, and postpartum. Children are a blessing from the Lord and every mother deserves the best through her pregnancy/delivery. I personally have experienced 3 hospital births, 2 birth center deliveries, and 2 home births. I am here to support you and help you make the most memorable and peaceful birth possible. If you are pregnant and would like the support of a doula, please reach out to me. I would love to meet you and see if I am the right doula for you.

I cannot recommend Melinda enough. After having two traumatic birth experiences, I knew I needed to prepare differently this time. My first birth was a natural birth during the pandemic, and unfortunately there were many errors made at the hospital. My baby ended up in the NICU, and I developed a serious infection after being allowed in a tub after my water had broken. It was my first experience, and I did not know better at the time. With my second birth, after pushing, I was told I needed an emergency C-section because my baby’s heart rate dropped. That experience also came with many mistakes and I ended up with another bad infection. Because of all of that, I decided to do my research for my next birth, and that is how I found Melinda. I wanted to try for a VBAC, but almost everyone around me told me no. Melinda was the one person who made me feel confident, supported, and heard. I shared all of my fears and concerns with her, and she always kept me positive. She became my voice when I needed one. When the day finally came and my water broke, Melinda talked me through labor and helped calm me down. Once we got to the hospital, she was exactly what I needed. She respected all of the healthcare workers and let them do their jobs, but she also advocated for me and helped me stay calm when scary things were being said, especially when my baby’s heart rate was dropping. Thanks to her support, I had a 3.5-hour labor and the best birth experience I could have hoped for. She was also a great support for my husband, which meant so much to both of us. Do not hesitate to hire Melinda. I am telling you, it will be one of the best decisions you make. She is amazing.

I was born and raised in DFW. My family and friends mean the world to me. Having a sense of community is so important. My favorite people in the world call me Aunt Dani! In my free time I enjoy being outdoors, practicing hot yoga, working out, going to church, and sewing. My faith has definitely helped shape me as a midwife. Hallowed means regarded as holy or sacred. To me birth is a very sacred experience that should be treated as such. Before stepping into the role of a midwife, I spent nearly three years as a labor and delivery nurse in a hospital setting. It provided me with a solid foundation and invaluable experience, but I slowly came to realize that my values did not align with the hospital culture. When I moved to San Diego in 2018 I decided to leave the hospital and pursue my dream of becoming a midwife. During my training I truly fell in love with home birth. Witnessing a baby enter this world in the very place they will grow up is an incredibly special and sacred experience that deeply touches my heart. During my midwifery training, I made the decision to move back to Texas, wanting to be closer to my family and friends. After completing my midwifery education I began working at a birth center. The birth center was an amazing experience, but I am thrilled to embark on this next chapter of my career, returning to home births and reconnecting with families. This is where my true passion lies—to provide personalized, compassionate care that honors each family's unique needs and choices. I am genuinely excited to be a part of your journey, guiding you through the miraculous experience of childbirth with unwavering support, respect, and empowerment. I look forward to connecting with you!

I’m Carmen, a birth and postpartum doula living in Arlington, TX with my husband and two daughters. Birth work and bringing more humanity to maternity care in the U.S. has been a passion of mine since I first began my motherhood journey over ten years ago. Now more than ever, doulas play a critical role in helping ensure positive birth and postpartum outcomes for all birthing persons, where they feel empowered and fully supported in every scenario. I look forward to nurturing and supporting you throughout your birth and postpartum journey and beyond.

I truly cannot imagine my birth experience without Carmen! Hiring her was hands down one of the best decisions I made. From pregnancy through postpartum, she cared for me in a way that felt both professional and deeply personal. During pregnancy, she checked in often, answered my questions with patience, and helped me feel calm and prepared instead of anxious and overwhelmed. During labor, she was steady, grounded, and completely tuned in to me. She basically took the lead on positioning me and guiding my movements in the hospital. She was constantly adjusting me into thoughtful, intentional positions that helped my labor progress and the nurses were following her suggestions. That gave me so much confidence. I didn’t have to think. I didn’t have to manage anything. I could just focus on resting and trusting the process because she was fully present and advocating for what my body needed!! And then postpartum… she didn’t disappear. She showed up. She nurtured. She cared. She even made the most amazing dinner for my family that we all enjoyed which, as a newly postpartum mom, felt like the biggest gift!! It wasn’t just about birth support. It was about being mothered while I was becoming a mother again. If you are looking for someone who is knowledgeable, calm, non-judgmental, and truly in your corner no matter what your birth looks like she is that person. I felt safe and supported, and TRULY nurtured every step of the way. I’m so grateful for her!!!🤍

I am so happy you are here! My name is Laurynn. I am a birthkeeper and student midwife serving families in DFW and surrounding areas. I offer antenatal support through various services including birth and postpartum doula, birth planning, lactation support, and placenta encapsulation. I am happily married to my other half, Colin, and have a daughter, Olive, born at Natural Beginnings Birth Center in 2023 as well as a son, Finn, born at home this past September. I believe that birth is a sacred rite of passage to be respected and honored, I encourage and love the inner wild woman in her most vulnerable space, and I believe in the innate ability and intuitive nature of her body and her baby during the whole process. The birth of my daughter and son have opened doors in my soul that I didn’t know existed, and in response, I have developed an extreme passion for helping women and their families feel empowered, safe, and nurtured during birth. Whether you have had previous birth trauma, you want to achieve your first homebirth, or you want to birth in the hospital, my goal is to have you leaving your experience feeling powerful, happy, accomplished, and that you had a voice that was heard and respected by your provider. I want to set you and your partner up with the tools to take charge of — and ENJOY — your birth as well as provide a space in which you feel the most loved and comfortable to welcome your newest blessing to the world. I’m beyond excited to connect with you, hear your story, and find out more about your desires for your birth!

Laurynn was great! She made my husband and I feel so much better about the birthing process in the weeks leading up to my labor. She was so knowledgeable and we learned so much from her. I opted for a hospital birth and really wanted someone there to advocate for me, and Laurynn did not let us down. At first my husband did not understand why I wanted a doula, but afterwards, he couldn't stop raving about how it was the best money we spent. It was great for him to have someone there supporting both him and I through the process, and it made it a lot less stressful for him. I credit Laurynn to my smooth labor and delivery, and was so grateful for her. She made me feel as comfortable as possible during my labor, and fought for us to try more natural interventions rather than opting for the hospital interventions, and her bag of tricks worked wonders. I'm so grateful for her, and would definitely recommend her to any expecting mothers! I can't wait to use her next time around for my home birth!

I truly cannot recommend Sunshine enough. This was my second pregnancy after 16 years and first home birth. Even though I had birthed before I felt like a first time mom all over again. Sunshine came to my home and I always felt comfortable sharing my fears and worries. She was always so gentle and kind. I birthed my baby in less than 4 hours and it was so amazing!!! I never thought I would call birth amazing or walk away feeling supported and proud of myself. So thankful for Sunshine her students for all of the 2 hour visits and helping me work through my fears to get my birth goals. 1000% recommend

I found Cynthia in a panic around 36 weeks pregnant, after my original doula didn’t work out. I had accepted the fact that I wouldn’t have a doula & it was probably too late to find someone. Cynthia heard my story and quickly took me under her wing. She helped me with prepping for labor, gave me tools to get the baby in an optimal position, & as a bonus, became a bff to my toddler! This was my first home birthing experience so I was so thankful she was willing to help me. When it came time that I went into labor, Cynthia was quick to be here & assist me. I labored extremely quick & there is no way I could have handled my wild labor without her. She kept me calm & reminded me I could do it & to breath through the contractions. She helped me clear my head space & stay grounded. I will forever be thankful for Cynthia & highly recommend her! If I decide to have more babies, I will definitely be using her again.
