The cost of a midwife in Kingston, ON can be influenced by several factors:

  • Type of Midwife

Certified Nurse-Midwives (CNMs) who work in hospital settings may have different pricing than Certified Professional Midwives (CPMs) who attend home births or birth center deliveries.

  • Birth Setting

Hospital births with a midwife typically cost less out-of-pocket when covered by insurance, while home births and birth center deliveries may have different fee structures.

  • Scope of Services

Many midwives offer comprehensive packages that include prenatal visits, labor and delivery support, and postpartum care, which can affect the overall cost.

  • Insurance Coverage

No midwives are listed within 60 miles of Kingston, so families may need to search beyond the area. Midwife support is generally arranged privately and paid for by the family, while reimbursement varies by health plan. Before booking, ask the provider about fees, sliding-scale pricing, and payment plans. Also check what your provincial health plan or private insurer reimburses under your specific policy.

  • Experience and Specialization

Midwives with extensive experience, additional certifications, or specializations such as VBAC support or water birth may charge higher rates.

  • Geographic Location

Midwifery costs can vary based on the cost of living and demand for midwifery services in your specific area.

When considering hiring a midwife in Kingston, ON, it's advisable to research and interview several midwives to find one who aligns with your birth plan, preferences, and budget. During consultations, you can discuss their specific services, insurance acceptance, and pricing structure to ensure you have a clear understanding of what is included and the associated costs.

I've had the opportunity to see Keegan support families across several different contexts over the years, and it's hard to overstate how naturally they inhabit that role. Their way of caring for others is calm, attuned, and humble. Keegan brings a steadiness that shows up long before a baby arrives. They have a remarkable ability to sense what kind of support is most needed in a specific moment. This could be helping you settle into your breath, easing practical tasks around the home, or creating an atmosphere of grounded confidence for the family. Keegan's attention is both focused and expansive. They are deeply attuned to the person they are supporting, while also staying aware of everyone who is part of the experience - partners, grandparents, friends, or chosen family. They include others in ways that feel natural and respectful, helping each person feel useful, supported, and connected. What stands out most is the depth of Keegan's presence. They meet you with quiet reverence, responding to joy, exhaustion, uncertainty, and even moments of grief with composure and genuine care. Their sensitivity creates space for whatever unfolds, without losing warmth or steadiness. Those moving through pregnancy and the loved ones surrounding them will experience Keegan as a grounded, perceptive, and wholeheartedly present support. They will discover someone who truly delights in being of service - capable, steady, and deeply attuned to the needs of the moment.

Being a doula isn’t a job, it’s a privilege! I am honored to be able to assist families in some of the most transformative times in their lives. My approach when working with women and their families is to offer education and encouragement, which in turn helps them to feel confident as they approach and experience their baby’s birth. I provide evidence-based information and listen to what matters to my clients, and then we work together toward achieving their goals. Throughout pregnancy and especially during labor, I provide consistent, calm reassurance and guidance. I began my doula career in 2012 through DONA International and I am a Birth Beautifully Certified Birth Doula, Birth Beautifully Certified Childbirth Educator, and Birth Beautifully Birth Doula Trainer. I am also a Certified VBAC Doula through the VBAC Link, and I am a Certified Postpartum Doula through the Midwifery Institute. With a wide variety of doula experience — including medicated and unmedicated labors, spontaneous and induced labors, hospital birth and homebirth — my knowledge and understanding is put to use to help reduce my clients’ anxiety and increase their confidence. I have a special place in my heart for women suffering with Hyperemesis Gravidarum (HG) during their pregnancies, as I myself have dealt with it five times. I believe the best pregnancies, births, and postpartum experiences happen when women and their families feel supported, and I would be honored to do that for your family.

Welcome! I’m Jessica Rogers. I am a Birth Doula, Postpartum Doula, and Certified Lactation Counselor with a deep passion for supporting families through one of the most powerful journeys of their lives: pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. I was trained through DONA International and am actively working towards birth and postpartum certification. I was certified as a lactation counselor by the ALPP after completing the Center for Breastfeeding course and passing the exam. My own experience becoming a mother ignited this calling in me, and it grew even stronger during my second pregnancy. This season can be transformative, overwhelming and beautiful all at once, and you do not have to go through it alone. As your doula, I will be a dedicated and compassionate support system, someone who not only respects you but also walks beside you like a trusted friend throughout your pregnancy, birth, and postpartum journey. I bring a calm presence, a good sense of humor, and a listening ear when you need it most. I am a hard worker who believes in your strength and am here to support you and your family every step of the way. When I am not supporting families, you can find me spending time with my amazing husband, children, family and friends, exercising, reading, meal prepping, hanging out with our chickens or gardening. I also happen to love spiders and have a new hobby that includes two jumping spiders and a tarantula - weird, maybe, but I love them and have always had a soft spot for exotic pets (and nature in general). I also have a Bachelors Degree in Interior Design from RIT, and spent the previous ~12 years working in the field until the birth of my second baby. I love seeing women empowered through this incredible experience and I would be honored to be a part of your team. I serve the Rochester, NY area hospitals and provide postpartum support to those within 25 minutes from my home in Hilton, NY. I truly look forward to working with you!

There truly aren’t enough words to express how grateful we are for Jess. Choosing her to support us through birth was hands down the best decision we made & after this experience we can’t imagine going through another birth without her. I had an 18 hour labor & Jess was by my side through every single moment. Even after I got my epidural she was constantly helping me change positions to keep labor progressing & making sure I was as comfortable as possible. She knew exactly what I needed before I even had to ask & brought such a calming, reassuring presence to the room. She wasn’t just there for me. She was incredible for my husband too. She helped guide him on how to support me, encouraged him throughout labor, & made him feel confident instead of overwhelmed. By the end of our birth, my husband had become the biggest advocate for doulas. He now tells everyone that every birth needs a doula. Throughout labor we looked at each other multiple times & said “We don’t know how we ever did this without Jess.” Looking back at our previous births we truly can’t imagine going through labor without her support. Jess is compassionate, knowledgeable, encouraging, & genuinely passionate about what she does. She helped make our birth experience so positive & empowering, & we will forever be thankful for everything she did for our family. If you’re considering hiring a doula, stop thinking about it & hire Jess. You will never regret it.

⚜️About Me:⚜️ I’m Kailey Yeager, owner of Naturally Nurtured Doula Care LLC, wife, and proud mother of two. My experiences as a mother of a child with special needs inspired me to become a passionate advocate for families navigating healthcare, education, and community support systems. As a community-based, high-risk doula, my goal is to provide compassionate, evidence-informed support throughout pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum journey. I believe parents deserve access to accurate information, quality education, and trusted resources so they can make informed decisions that are right for their unique families. My role is not to make decisions for parents, but to ensure they feel confident, respected, and empowered as they make those decisions themselves. Beyond my doula work, I am deeply committed to advocacy. I have advocated for improved access to Early Intervention and preschool special education services, helping raise awareness of the barriers families face in obtaining timely evaluations, services, and support. I am passionate about ensuring children with special needs and their families have access to the services, resources, and opportunities they deserve. I currently serve as Vice President of the Brockport PTSA, where I work to strengthen partnerships between families, schools, and the community through volunteerism, parent engagement, and educational initiatives. I also serve as the Brockport Central School District TIES Program Coordinator, coordinating inclusive social and recreational opportunities that bring together students with and without disabilities. Through TIES, I aim to help foster meaningful friendships, leadership, and a sense of belonging for children and young adults of all abilities. Everything I do is rooted in the belief that education empowers families. Whether I am supporting an expectant parent, advocating for a child with special needs, leading community programs, or connecting families with local resources, my mission is to provide the knowledge, encouragement, and support that help families make informed choices with confidence.
