I am in grad school working on my master's in Marriage and Family Therapy. In my free time, you can find me in my PJs curled up with a good book in bed, spending time with my husband, and/ or at church serving. My love language is physical touch and quality time. My professional career supporting families began in 1999 as a childbirth educator and birth doula, an experience that has laid the foundation of Newborn Mother Care. Through the years my focus shifted to supporting the mother during postpartum. With extensive experience in the hospital system supporting mothers in postpartum with their breastfeeding needs, today I support mothers focusing on the healing that comes before and after birth, giving you the time and space to focus on your mind, body, and spirit.

I found my calling in birth work at the young age of 16, where I was present at at a family members birth, and never looked back! After studying Biology at Temple University and devoting a portion of my life to modern medicine, I found a passion in Ethnobotany, which led to applying a more holistic approach to women’s health- -hyper focused on women’s reproductive health. When I had my first baby, it was at the height of the pandemic. A lot of what I thought motherhood would look like fell drastically short. I found myself alone while navigating postpartum life, dreading the nights and trying to survive the days. After struggling with my daughter’s sleep, I became a sleep specialist because I truly believed her sleep was why I struggled so much during my postpartum period. After working with over 500 families, I realized that a child’s sleep was the tip of the iceberg, and families needed more than just a sleep training method. They needed a holistic approach. My name is Sophie Perkins and I grew up in Kerrville, TX. I have been practicing as a doula since 2020, and I have fallen in love with this work. I have no children of my own, but my wonderful girlfriend and I have plans to expand our family. While I hope to be able to carry a child, we are very excited about the prospect of adopting or fostering children! My hobbies include spending time with my partner and pets, renovating our home, and reading. In 2016, a friend of mine got pregnant and hired a doula. Hearing her birth story was such a privilege and an eye opening experience! As the months passed, she shared with me honestly what it was like being a new mom–the sleep deprivation, confusion, visceral joy and love of having a child. I felt so honored that she would trust me, and I was inspired to find my place beside families as they welcome new children. I looked into doula work and was hooked immediately. After I was trained, I knew with certainty that I had found my passion.

Hi everyone!! I’m Micaela! I have been practicing as a postpartum doula for almost 2 years and I’ve been a certified postpartum doula for almost a year! I am a single momma to my 3 year old son named Tobias! If I’m not chasing my wild child around, you’ll find me cuddled up on the couch watching some reality tv, maybe reading a good book, or in a coffee shop enjoying an over priced coffee. I also enjoy being outdoors, taking my son anywhere that will get all of his energy out, or hanging out with some like minded friends who are apart of my village as much as I’m apart of theirs! I had my son as a single, young, 18 year old woman. I was incredibly lost and didn’t know what I was doing(even though I had taken care of countless babies) I didn’t know how to handle it on my own. Megan Taylor was my doula and that was my first look into what support looks like during childbirth and even after!! I had already known I loved children and working with babies( I have been doing it since I was 13) but what I didn’t know was how much I enjoyed serving families and mamas who are stuck and exhausted just like I once was. After experiencing womb complications of my own including PCOS, I turned to contraception for help only to find out later that it caused my womb issues to worsen. Eager to heal my womb, I switched over to a holistic lifestyle, changing my diet and studying herbalism. I reversed my womb issues and became passionate to help other women take back their power and heal their wombs.
