We provide all you need to comfortably bring your baby into the world. The birth center midwives provide all of your prenatal care appointments, help you during labor and birth, and continue care for six weeks for you and baby. When you come to the birth center in labor, the deep soaking tubs help you relax. You can also choose to labor on one of the birthing stools, in a yoga sling, or on one of our exercise balls. Each birth suite has color changing lights, smart tvs, smart speakers, and oil diffusers to create a calm birth environment.

My mission is to reduce the alarming rates of maternal and infant mortality especially among marginalized communities by providing compassionate, culturally competent, and individualized support before, during, and after birth. My name is Sophie Perkins and I grew up in Kerrville, TX. I have been practicing as a doula since 2020, and I have fallen in love with this work. I have no children of my own, but my wonderful girlfriend and I have plans to expand our family. While I hope to be able to carry a child, we are very excited about the prospect of adopting or fostering children! My hobbies include spending time with my partner and pets, renovating our home, and reading. In 2016, a friend of mine got pregnant and hired a doula. Hearing her birth story was such a privilege and an eye opening experience! As the months passed, she shared with me honestly what it was like being a new mom–the sleep deprivation, confusion, visceral joy and love of having a child. I felt so honored that she would trust me, and I was inspired to find my place beside families as they welcome new children. I looked into doula work and was hooked immediately. Certified Holistic Health and Womb Wellness Practitioner, Herbalist, Doula, and Nutritionist. I found my calling in birth work at the young age of 16, where I was present at at a family members birth, and never looked back! After studying Biology at Temple University and devoting a portion of my life to modern medicine, I found a passion in Ethnobotany, which led to applying a more holistic approach to women’s health- -hyper focused on women’s reproductive health. I aid women in womb wellness through overall health and herbal healing by way of yoni steaming, abdominal chirapsia, and nutrition counseling. My doula duties are universally geared toward family-directed, physiologic childbirth, antenatal and postpartum care, newborn care, herbal remedies, reproductive care(pre-conception to postpartum) and placenta medicine. 

As a mother myself, I'm passionate about childbirth, and just love spending time with babies!  I feel it is a true honor to be invited into a birth space as it is so intimate and sacred.
