My name is Rachel Klein - the owner and founder of Doula Moon and Back. Birth doulas have been around since the beginning of time, providing counsel and coaching through pregnancy, labor, birth, and the fourth trimester. My commitment is to helping birthing people to feel more confident and positive through their journey of parenthood, by using evidence-based information, comfort techniques, and knowledge drawn from a love of learning. My care as a doula is meant to be an open and non-judgmental environment for families of all types and backgrounds.

5 stars doesn’t seem to be enough for the rating I’d give Rachel. She was with me throughout my pregnancy and so supportive. She took time to really get to know me and my plan for birth. When it came time to go to the birth center she was there the entire time and was caring, nurturing, supportive and cheering me on. When I had to make decisions she was there to provide me with knowledge and help me make the decisions that she knew I wanted. When I was feeling discouraged or upset or anything she was there as my light and positivity to bring me back to center and keep pushing on! She made sure I stayed hydrated, fed, rested & loved during every step. Although this was my longest, most difficult labor, Rachel kept my vision alive, and assured me that I could do this even when I wanted to quit. After having 5 babies and having a doula for the 6th my only regret was not having one everytime. I highly recommend her. I was surprised at how much of a difference it made having that extra support person.

I had an amazing experience with Emma! Emma met with me twice prior to birth, once just to get to know each other and then one prenatal appt to go over my birth plan, meet my husband & give us some good tools for my husband to have to be able to be a supportive partner during birth. I chose to have an all natural labor & birth and emma was amazing the second she got to the hospital with setting up my room to be comforting & helping me while in active labor with counter pressure/ applying essential oils topically per my request & encouraging me. Emma made me feel completely comfortable and helped me advocate for what I wanted in labor. She helped me understand multiple options for keeping labor progressing so I could continue with natural labor as I wanted and not have unnecessary medical intervention. Emma helped me in anyway I asked - in the labor tub/ walking around the hospital with me/ praying with me/ advocating for me and everything in between. Emma was an amazing support mentally, physically & spiritually and I cannot recommend her enough. If you are wanting a doula who is calming, encouraging & makes you feel seen & heard no matter what your birth plan then emma is your gal! I had the exact birth I wanted & a perfect healthy baby girl!

I am a DONA trained Birth Doula in Louisville, KY and am currently raising three kids, ages 14, 12, and 6, with my husband of 15 years in beautiful Shelby County. I became a Doula in June of 2018 and it is a true passion of mine. I have personally had both natural and medicated birth experiences and I support all births! I believe every birth journey is unique and that's the beauty of your story! After having a doula present for two of my babies, I quickly developed a passion and knew I wanted to be able to support others going through pregnancy and birth. I also know how challenging the Fourth Trimester can be and I l have such a heart to support moms in navigating through that postpartum season. I am also super passionate about educating families and empowering you to be an advocate for yourself. I offer in-home birth education, phone support, and consults for families who want the knowledge and prenatal support, but don't necessarily want the full doula labor and birth presence.

I absolutely cannot say enough good things about Jamie! For my second birth, I decided rather late in the game that I wanted to hire a doula to help me go unmedicated. I can undoubtedly say that I would not have been able to meet my goals without Jamie. In our prenatal visits, she asked all the right questions to understand my goals and preferences. She is incredibly down-to-earth and easy to talk to, which makes a huge difference when planning for such an intense experience. My labor itself had several unexpected turns that felt like setbacks, and Jamie was the steadfast and calm coach I needed when I was doubting myself. She has a ton of tricks up her sleeve - it seemed like she came up with a new comfort measure right when I needed it every time! It is clear that she has vast experience with birth and labor, and I specifically loved that she had lots of experience with natural births at hospitals (vs. home births). I am so happy that God led me to Jamie, she is an excellent doula and an excellent person. I would wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone looking for a doula!

Over 10 years ago, I answered the call to be with women in the childbearing year. Becoming a doula was my 1st baby step on this most rewarding journey! I advanced through nursing school and gained critical medical knowledge and insight working within the industrial-medical-pharmaceutical-complex, all the while retaining my grounding in the natural power of beautifully supported women. I started attending homebirths as the primary assistant to the midwife in 2014. Between home, hospital, and free-standing birth center settings, I have been honored to attend around 300-400 births as a nurse so far. In my journey, I have worked closely with midwives, learning the art of breastfeeding and participating in passing along this skill from woman to woman, even in the case of serious difficulty. I've coached hundreds of clients from all around the United States on topics ranging from navigating the health care system while pregnant, preventing cesarean section, reducing their risk, and so much more! My saga is only just beginning, and I want to bring as many women and families along this path as I can. Health is freedom. Material knowledge is the currency of our times, but wisdom and intuition are what give knowledge power. I hope to impart my wisdom gained through experience to you, so you can apply this to your life, and do what you know is right in your heart and mind. I want to hold your hand as you take a quantum leap of faith… Faith in yourself, in your body’s design and designer…

Sierra is the absolute best! She is so knowledgeable and shares that knowledge in a way that’s easy for the common (non-medical) person to understand. I was 39 weeks pregnant and reached out to her, somewhat freaking out, because I found out my midwife wanted to induce me. I had a lot of concerns with that. Sierra listened to my concerns, she validated how I was feeling, and was able to give me a real step by step plan of what my options were going forward. I went from panic to peace after speaking with her. Instead of feeling like I was just being shuffled through the system, I felt empowered to make decisions and advocate for myself and my baby. I would totally trust her with anything baby/pregnancy related and would absolutely seek her advice again!
