My name is Marika Brown, and I am a Jesus-loving Christian mom of 7 living children and 4 babies in Heaven. I am a DONA-trained birth doula. My background includes a B.A. in Elementary and Early Childhood Education from Evangel University. I have been homeschooling my children for 13 years and recently graduated my oldest child, while my baby is approaching his second birthday. My journey to become a doula had been years in the making, starting with the birth of my own first child and instantly wanting to learn as much as I could about pregnancy and birth. I have always loved listening to other moms' stories about their births and babies. With my own back-to-back pregnancies and newborns, the time had not been right to pursue professional training to be a doula, but I knew it was something I wanted to do "someday." As a loss mama and high-risk patient myself, I have a special interest in supporting moms during a pregnancy after loss, or pregnancy complications.
