Meanwhile, my all-female consulting team started expecting. They would come to the office with so much new information and questions after doctor/midwife appointments, not to mention what everyone was saying on the internet! I was so curious about it all! I discovered what a doula was and that people did it as a profession. Not long after I am happy to say I found a doula training and haven’t looked back.

My name is Maggie Mau, and I am a mom of two girls and two very sweet rescue pups, Hopper and Eleven. My partner is a longtime teacher for Saint Paul Public Schools and we have lived in the South Como neighborhood in Saint Paul for the last 15 years! As a family we enjoy camping, hiking and exploring our country’s beautiful national parks. It is not odd to find us hammocking up at Como park, picking mulberries and reading :) I enjoy running, gardening, reading and baking and hosting regular gatherings of family and friends. My name is Cherie Schmidt. I am a licensed RN in the state of Minnesota. I retired a year ago as a triage nurse in an OB/GYN office. I worked there for 11 years. I have worked in Neonatal ICU, Newborn Nursery, did mother/baby nursing, and was a board certified lactation consultant and practiced for 10 years with inpatient and outpatient clients. I have been a doula for close friends. The goal is to have a healthy mom, baby, and help the partner get through pregnancy, childbirth, and new parenting. I also want to help children get through the experience of being a new sibling. I have been attended hundreds of deliveries and have taught prenatal classes. This position gives me joy.
