My name is Fable Rodgers-Kurilenko and i've been a practicing Postpartum Doula(and occasional Birth Doula) for nearly two years after a long history with Nannying and being a Daycare teacher. I became a Doula because I longed to become more connected to families and mothers but within the Daycare setting due to conflicts of interest, was un able to do so. I had been interested in doula work since my early teens. My mother even bought me birth books in high school! That's when I left the daycare setting (returning to nannying for a time while I was in school) and got my doula certification. Later that year I began practicing first in births, then I found that my true love was postpartum. Now I am a mother myself as of last year and can truly understand the importance of postpartum care. My husband and I could not have survived the newborn stage without the help of family, friends (and a doula) and it is such a joy getting to support Mothers and Fathers through the most vulnerable time is their lives.

I also have a Bachelor's degree in Social Work from Colorado State University Pueblo. I completed postpartum doula training with DONA. I then started working as a postpartum doula with San Antonio Birth Doulas where the emphasis was on serving teen and lower-income families. Many families live very far away from the members of their family that could offer help and guidance. If they do live close, chances are they work or have very busy lives themselves.
