I had the privilege of working with Sasha as my doula during my pregnancy, birth, and postpartum period. I cannot express enough gratitude for her exceptional support. From the very beginning, Sasha demonstrated a level of professionalism, compassion, and expertise that truly made a difference in my birthing experience. During my pregnancy, Sasha was a constant source of knowledge and reassurance. She took the time to understand my unique needs and concerns, providing me with evidence-based information and guidance that helped me make informed decisions. Her ability to listen attentively and offer non-judgmental support created a safe space for me to express my fears and anxieties. When it came time for the birth, Sasha's presence was invaluable. Her calm demeanor and unwavering support helped me confidently navigate the intense moments. She provided physical comfort measures, emotional encouragement, and continuous reassurance, ensuring I felt empowered and in control throughout the process. Sasha's expertise in various birthing techniques, such as positioning, proved incredibly helpful in promoting progress. But Sasha's support didn't end with the birth. During the postpartum period, she remained a pillar of strength and guidance. She offered practical assistance with newborn care and emotional well-being. Her genuine care and understanding made transitioning from two to three children smoother and less overwhelming. Overall, Sasha's dedication to her role as a doula is commendable. Her knowledge, professionalism, and unwavering support were instrumental in making my pregnancy, birth, and postpartum experience positive and empowering. I wholeheartedly recommend Sasha to any expectant mother seeking a compassionate and skilled doula who will go above and beyond to ensure a memorable and fulfilling journey into parenthood.

Malorie Melson

I am a birth doula and childbirth educator that believes every birthing person should feel informed, safe and cared for. Birth is not an illness and should be treated like the physiological process that it is. I also believe that there is no right way to birth! I am supportive of what ever birth journey my client wants to take. I’ll be there to provide information, emotional support and physical presence.

Right out of the gate we knew Malorie would be a great fit for our needs. She was very informative, non-judgemental and maintained a calm, reassuring demeanor throughout the entire process. Malorie's support and education leading up to the delivery was an invaluable resource to us. During times of uncertainty, Malorie's unwavering guidance and confidence in us really paved the way for us to have an informed and healthy delivery. Our educational sessions were critical in making us feel confident about the whole process, as well as informed but not stressed about potential risks. She took the time to answer all of our questions, both during our sessions, as well as over text/phone calls. She checked in on us regularly throughout the pregnancy, making us feel listened to and valued.  Throughout the labor and delivery she was a very reassuring and calming presence in the room with us, providing encouragement and helpful strategies to give us the best experience possible at the hospital. Malorie worked alongside hospital staff to advocate for Stephanie's preferences, including working through different positioning during labor, as well as ensuring skin to skin was a priority post delivery. We felt she went above and beyond our expectations to be there at the hospital with us, and advocate for mom and baby.  In post-partum, Malorie was one of our loudest cheerleaders. She checked in on us regularly, helped us adjust to parenthood and provide us with tips for caring for our newborn. She helped us find confidence in some of our most vulnerable moments, and always made sure our family was healthy both physically and mentally. If we ever require Doula services in the future, we wouldn't hesitate to approach Malorie.

Highly Recommend Thalia – An Amazing Birth Doula! I had the absolute privilege of having Thalia as my birth doula, and I cannot recommend her enough! I have been preparing birthing couples since 2013. Unhappy with the support I received during my first birth, my sister encouraged me to take an independent childbirth class. My second birth was healing and my third birth was empowering. This started my passion for safe, natural when possible, and empowering birth. I have since become trained in Spinning Babies, Rebozo use during labor, Neonatal Resuscitation, and Bengkung belly binding. I have taught over 300 couples and attended dozens of births, either as doula support or as a midwife birth assistant. I am a certified breastfeeding specialist that is currently going through the process of becoming an IBCLC (International Board Certified Lactation Consultant). I'm married to my best friend of 10 years and we have 3 vivacious children together. Two of those children are deaf and we enjoy learning ASL and signing together. When I'm not reading articles about birth, I can be found chasing my kids around the park or folding laundry. It’s a toss up. My birth stories are all different from each other. I believe this shapes my teaching. My first birth, I did not know about the Bradley Method®. My mother gave birth in Vietnam without drugs and her only advice was “you just do it”. Because she said she did it, I thought naturally I would be able to and did not consider learning different coping techniques. For my first birth, unable to cope with the pain, I began to hold my breath and tense up. This ultimately caused my labor to stop and I was given Pitocin and the cycle continued. I eventually was given an epidural and my son was born by vacuum extraction. My daughter, my second birth, on the other hand has a completely different birth story. I had a short, six hour labor. I firmly believe learning all the physical exercises, practicing relaxing, and knowing the best birthing positions sped up the birth and caused me to give birth with ease. I was calm and happy after giving birth. By the time the doctor arrived I had already breastfed and my daughter was sleeping peacefully. He was amazed and commented on how we as a family appeared stoic. My third birth was a quick homebirth. I was excited to practice everything I had been teaching! My husband caught our last child and we consider it our best teamwork. Both my husband and I noticed a big difference in how I felt after my last two births. Because of the vast differences in my birth experiences, I feel the need to tell every women. What better way than by becoming a Bradley instructor.

Jaelyn is an angel straight from heaven. I live across the country from my family, and she showed up as my best friend and my family during my delivery and postpartum. She was a tremendous advocate for me during my birth. I was committed to having a natural birth at a birth center, but after 18 hours of labor we had to take it to the hospital because of unavoidable complications. She did absolutely everything to protect and support me at the hospital, while I was pretty much delirious and struggling to make decisions, she was bold and brave standing up from my rights and needs the whole time. For example, the doctors wanted me to go straight to Pitocin to strengthen my ability to push, but Jaelyn knew I wanted to avoid medical interventions, so like a genius she instructed the doctors to give me a breast pump instead because pumping can have the same strengthening effect in an all-natural way. I didn’t even know that, but she did. All through the day and night at the birth center she kept me fed and hydrated, tirelessly held the detachable shower head for me for literally 3 hours straight as I was attempting a water birth, and gave me massages and helped me through all kinds of creative birthing positions. During my extremely challenging birth experience, feeling her hand holding mine was the most comforting and reassuring thing. Her energy was calm always. And then, low and behold postpartum at the hospital, she was my first visitor bringing me a gift bag full of beautiful high quality baby items, a huge bouquet of flowers, and a deluxe fruit tray which I devoured. She’s one of those friends who knows what you need without you having to say anything. She was born to be a doula, and she even remembered my dog’s name and asked about her which cheered me up so much! Plus, with my pregnancy Medicaid all of her services were free! She has a great sense of humor and made me laugh so hard during her hospital visits that they could definitely hear us in the next room! Anyway, God bless you Jaelyn and thank you for treating me with such kindness, love, and respect. And any of you looking for the best doula ever who will seriously have your back, Jaelyn is your girl.
