I work closely with parents to build confidence in those early weeks and help establish healthy nighttime rhythms from the start.

If you’re questioning whether you really need a newborn care specialist, or wondering if it’s even worth it, just give Regan a chance. She’s so flexible and warm—She will blow you away. From the very first night, we could tell she knew exactly what she was doing, and that alone was such a relief. She came in and everything felt calmer, the whole house! There was finally some kind of rhythm when in the beginning it can feel like absolute uncertainty every day. we could actually breathe and sleep again, we felt a little more like us. We don’t know how we would’ve gotten through those early weeks without her!!!

Working with Sally helped me to have the birth I wanted! I knew I wanted to try for an unmedicated birth, but was open to an epidural if needed, and Sally was supportive of both plans. She had great advice throughout my pregnancy and was a true hero on delivery day! She accompanied my husband and I to the hospital and was amazing at communicating with our nurses and doctors which took a lot of pressure off of me and my husband so that we could just be present in the moment. She used a variety of strategies to keep me as comfortable as possible during labor --the counterpressure and massage was a game changer during contractions! After baby was born she followed up with us several times to make sure breastfeeding and everything was going well. We would definitely recommend getting a doula, specifically Sally, to anyone who is on the fence about hiring someone to support their birth!

We had an amazing experience with Takiesha - she was so helpful in listening to our birth plan/desires, providing guidance, educational materials, advice as we navigated our journey in becoming first-time parents. We couldn’t have done it without her! She was a great advocate for us and helpful as we had to make decisions at the hospital. She has a depth and breadth of knowledge and experience that helped us in so many ways. I would absolutely work with her again and highly recommend her!

Jordan Sanders

I'm a birth doula, a mom of two young kids, a Licensed Social Worker, and an artist. I work at the edge of birth and becoming—the places where women cross from one version of themselves into another. I hold space for women preparing for birth (especially those carrying fear or grief from a previous experience), mothers navigating the postpartum crossing, and any other significant threshold moment for anyone who needs to be held, not fixed. This work is not about making you brave. It's about witnessing you—exactly as you are—while you move through what's here. My approach is all about empowerment through education, holding space for sacred moments, and for processing those threshold moments after the fact, as well! I love incorporating somatic body awareness and trust in my trauma-informed practice. I’d love to walk alongside you during your threshold moments!

Jordan was my doula for the birth of my second and third babies, and I just wish she had been there for my first birth, too! My labor with my second child was incredibly intense and painful, and I remember the way the atmosphere changed the moment that Jordan entered the room. She holds herself with an assured confidence and exudes warmth, empathy, and strength under pressure. She is deeply empathetic, is in tune with a mother’s needs during labor, and is not afraid to step in an be a firm advocate when needed. She is THE ONE you want on your birthing team. After having her for the birth of our second baby, my husband said we will never have a baby without her present with us, and I feel the same! From labor prep, birth, and even postpartum support, if you are looking for the kindest soul who is still a force to be reconned with as an advocate, Rooted Passage will absolutely exceed your expectations during the most sacred experience of your life.

Alyssa Going

Nice to meet you! I’m Alyssa. I’m a boy mama x 2. After having two very different birth experiences, I’m passionate about supporting and educating parents leading up to birth and beyond. With a long induction + c-section birth and also a non-medicated VBAC under my belt, I feel well equipped to support all moms. I love to integrate a holistic approach to birth work, but I also appreciate modern medicine when truly needed. Every mom has their wants and needs when envisioning the birth that they desire, and I love helping them get from where they are to where they want to be. I value breastfeeding and postpartum wellness as well and love to help moms troubleshoot or problem solve when needed. The saying “it takes a village” holds a special place with me as I often feel pulled to be that village for fellow mamas. I strive to make other moms feel appreciated, supported, informed, and confident in their God-given abilities! I live in the Indianapolis area with my husband + our two boys. I love mom hangs, adventuring with my fam, being my kids biggest cheerleader + checking out new local food and coffee spots with my husband.

Alyssa was my doula for the birth of my 3rd child. I know that because of her, I had a beautiful, natural, physiological birth. I did not have a doula for the births of my first 2 children but after having her be such a vital part of my birth team, I wish I had invested in a doula for them. The birth of my 1st child was long and difficult, and I can confidently say that if Alyssa had been there, it would have been completely different. She is kind, incredibly generous, loves the Lord, and has a calming presence that makes her a perfect doula for someone like me. I have a lot of anxiety and do better when I have someone who is both gentle and firm. Alyssa became a part of my pregnancy journey around 18 weeks along. I was able to talk about my previous births, my indecision about where to give birth, and the difficulties I had experienced with secondary infertility. I had an initial consultation and 2 prenatal appointments with her in person where she was so attentive and wonderful about helping my husband and me to think through what I wanted my birthing time to look like. She was also available by phone and text, and I appreciated so much how often she checked in with me (and reminded me that I couldn't over communicate with her). A very big reason I decided to pursue a birthing center birth where I knew I wouldn't be able to have an epidural (I'm definitely not great with pain and had epidurals with my first 2) was because of her encouragement and also her suggestion to pursue using Hypnobabies. I was skeptical that Hypnobabies would work for me, but I'm so thankful I worked through and completed the course. Not only was the hypnosis vital to my 3rd's amazing birth, but the Hypnobabies materials reinforced what I already knew, as well as taught me new things that gave me confidence I was definitely lacking in previous births. Alyssa is such a wealth of information. I felt very safe going to her with my questions, concerns, and even my frustrations. She was fabulous at reminding me of God's sovereignty, His perfect timing, and that she was praying for me. During my actual birthing time, Alyssa was a strong, calming presence that involved herself when she needed to and also let me work through the different stages of labor. I was so thankful for her constant reminder to relax my face (the idea being that a relaxed face is a relaxed uterus), and how she kept me on target from one stage to the next. She helped me try different positions (one even included a nap) and got me setup to be able to enter the birthing tub just when I needed it most. I had a water birth, something I had always wanted to have! She kept me on course with my Hypnobabies tracks to keep my focus where it needed to be. I'm so thankful for everything Alyssa did for me during pregnancy, my birthing time, and also after birth and in the weeks following birth. She is a fantastic doula and an amazing person. I highly recommend her and am so happy to do so.

October 2026

have known Jordan for nearly 20 years, and for as long as I've known her, she has possessed a natural, innate gift for taking care of others. Her warmth, intuitive compassion, and caretaking spirit are simply in her DNA. When she made the decision to begin her doula practice, it felt like the most natural extension of who she has always been. As a mother of two who had two C-sections, my birth experience looked a bit different, but Jordan's support before and after my births was invaluable. A doula's role goes so far beyond the delivery room, and Jordan embodies every single quality you could hope for during the perinatal journey. Before birth, she is a listening ear, an encouraging guide, and a calm, grounding force. The transition into motherhood, especially the physical and emotional recovery following a C-section, requires so much gentle care, and Jordan was there with steady, non-judgmental support every step of the way. She listens deeply, anticipates needs, and brings a reassuring, peaceful presence to the early postpartum days. Having navigated motherhood alongside her, I can say with complete confidence that any family would be so lucky to have Jordan in their corner. She is a true gift to expectant mothers!
