Rachel Ramirez

2 years of experience

I’m Rachel, a birth companion (doula) and postpartum caregiver supporting mothers preparing for natural, physiologic birth and a supported postpartum transition. I work with mothers who are doing their best to prepare, but feel overwhelmed by conflicting advice, medical pressure, and not knowing who or what to trust. Many don’t want to feel passive in their birth, but also don’t want to feel like they have to manage everything alone or fight to be heard. My role is to help you stay grounded, informed, and supported so you can move through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum with clarity instead of confusion. My background includes out of hospital birth, herbalism, holistic maternal care, and lived experience as a homebirth mother. My work is also grounded in faith in the Most High YHWH and a respect for birth as a natural process. Support includes: prenatal education and birth preparation help understanding options so decisions are not made under pressure nervous system support for labor and emotional steadiness postpartum care guidance so you are not left to navigate recovery alone I take on a limited number of clients each month to provide consistent support throughout pregnancy and postpartum. Amana is for mothers who want steady, grounded support, value discernment, and want to stay connected to their body and values throughout the process. Reach out to schedule a consultation if you feel aligned.

Working with Amana Birth Services was transformative and affirming. I am so grateful to have consulted with Rachel to prepare for the delivery of my first child. During our meetings, she provided detailed information, always exercised patience and care, and consistently followed up with resource guides and thorough learnings to help me get organized and prepared. She also encouraged my husband to join our sessions, so we could both prepare for our journey together. I highly recommend soliciting their services for all expecting families, as Amana Birth Services goes above and beyond to meet your needs and help you/your loved ones feel empowered in the rich and exciting journey of birth!

Greta O'Hara

Hi! I’m Greta, a doula offering prenatal and postpartum support to families in Middle Tennessee and virtually through my practice, Cradle & Kin. I’m also a wife to Brandon and mama to our daughter Charlotte, and I’ve always held a deep respect for the weight and beauty of motherhood. Pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum season are meaningful, vulnerable transitions, and I believe they deserve thoughtful, compassionate support. After experiencing firsthand how impactful it is to be well supported during this time, I felt called to offer that same care to other families. I view this work as a calling and a way to serve families with Christ-centered care, compassion, and support. I strive to serve families with during pregnancy and postpartum with education, emotional support, and practical care. However you’re entering this chapter, whether with joy, questions, overwhelm, or all of the above, I would be honored to walk alongside you and be a small part of the village supporting your growing family :)

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Greta. She was truly incredible—so intuitive and nurturing in every moment. She seemed to know exactly what I needed before I even said it, whether it was help processing my birth experience, a listening ear, or a few quiet minutes just to rest. She jumped right in with meal prep, laundry, and all the little tasks that feel so overwhelming in this season. She cared for my older child with such gentleness and joy, giving me the rare gift of being able to lie down and fully soak in those newborn snuggles without worry. Her presence brought so much peace, support, and ease into our home. I’m endlessly grateful for the way she cared for our whole family and can not wait to have her again for all our future babies! Highly, highly recommend.

Jazlin Slater

Jazlin Slater

My journey into birth work began from a deep passion for supporting women through one of the most transformative seasons of their lives. Becoming a mother changed me in the best way possible, and having good support by my side made that experience even more meaningful. Through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum, I learned firsthand how important it is for mothers to feel supported, informed, and deeply cared for. That experience ignited a passion in me to walk alongside other women and families during such a sacred and life-changing time. I believe birth is powerful, deeply personal, and instinctual. My philosophy is centered around offering compassionate, evidence-based support while honoring each family’s unique wishes and choices. I believe God intentionally designed birth with love and purpose. While every birth journey is unique, I believe women’s bodies were beautifully created for this process. My goal is to support mothers in feeling informed, empowered, and confident in the incredible strength and intuition God has given them. I believe every mother deserves to feel empowered, heard, and supported without judgment — whether that looks like an unmedicated birth, epidural, cesarean birth, breastfeeding support, or simply having someone by your side who makes you feel safe and cared for. My personal experiences with pregnancy, birth, and motherhood have shaped the way I support families. Motherhood has stretched me, softened me, and strengthened me in ways I never expected. It has deepened my empathy and helped me understand both the beauty and challenges that come with welcoming a baby and navigating postpartum life. I also openly share part of my story that has deeply shaped who I am today. I have a T-12 spinal cord injury. While this injury is part of my journey, it does not limit me from doing this work. If anything, it has empowered me to pursue it even more wholeheartedly. I am fully capable of offering hands-on support and care to the families I serve. While I do have a few small limitations, they are very minor, and I am always happy to have open conversations about them. More than anything, my injury has strengthened my resilience, compassion, and perspective on life. I truly believe God has used every part of my journey, both the beautiful and the difficult. It has molded me into the woman I am today. Through challenges, He has grown my faith, deepened my empathy, and given me a greater understanding of perseverance, grace, and the importance of support during vulnerable seasons of life. Those experiences are something I carry with me into every birth and postpartum space I enter. After moving to Tennessee, I felt deeply called to serve families within my community. My goal is to create a calm, supportive, and judgment-free space where parents feel confident, educated, and cared for throughout pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. It is truly an honor to support families as they welcome their baibies and step into this new season of life.

Having Jazlin as my doula throughout pregnancy, labor, and postpartum was one of the biggest blessings during such a special season of our lives. From the very beginning, she made my husband and I feel incredibly supported, informed, and cared for every step of the way. She consistently checked in on me throughout my pregnancy, always making sure we felt prepared for what to expect before, during, and after labor and delivery. No question was ever too small — she was always just a phone call or text away, and her presence brought so much peace and reassurance during moments that could have otherwise felt overwhelming. She even took the time to do house visits with us to help prepare for labor and postpartum, which made such a difference in helping us feel confident and ready. You can truly tell she cares deeply about the families she serves and sees this work as more than just a job. One of the things I appreciated most was that she is a faith-based doula. As Christians, having someone who could not only support us physically and emotionally, but also spiritually, was incredibly important to us. She prayed with us, encouraged us, and created such a comforting and peaceful environment throughout the entire experience. I genuinely cannot recommend her enough. If you are looking for a doula who is compassionate, knowledgeable, intentional, supportive, and faith-centered, she is truly amazing. We are so grateful for her and will forever cherish the role she played in bringing our daughter into the world.

Brittany Fatoma, EdD

Hi everyone! I'm Brittany Fatoma, a certified perinatal doula (prenatal, antepartum, and postpartum) and perinatal doula trainer. I'm a proud wife to a phenomenal husband and mama to a powerhouse little girl who's growing up fast. When I'm not busy supporting families, you can find me dancing to music, belting out karaoke tunes, or whipping up some of my favorite Southern dishes. Before becoming a doula, I taught early childhood and elementary education for eight years. I was also passionate about leading a nonprofit advocating equitable educational opportunities for Black and Brown children. Birth work allows me to beautifully combine my love for children with my desire to empower and support birthing individuals. As a doula, I'm particularly interested in supporting families through challenging and exceptional circumstances, such as first-time parenthood. I also prioritize helping clients stay healthy and active throughout pregnancy. I offer comprehensive childbirth education to equip parents with the necessary knowledge and confidence. My ultimate goal is to create a space where birthing individuals feel empowered to have the desired birthing experience.

Brittany is a blessing! When my OB had me stressed or confused during my pregnancy, Brittany was there to calm me and guide me through my emotions. She’s friendly, loving and has a great spirit overall, which is very much needed during and after a pregnancy. I have learned a lot from her and I am beyond grateful to have met her. I highly recommend her and their whole collective! They’ve got a great team going on!

Emily Kaiser, MSW, RLC, IBCLC is the Owner and Founder of A Mother’s Village, a thriving private lactation practice based in Bowling Green, Kentucky. As an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) — the highest credential in the lactation field — Emily blends advanced clinical expertise with a background in social work and mental health. Her care style is evidence-based, trauma-informed, and deeply compassionate. Families trust Emily for her warm presence, steady reassurance, and ability to make even the most overwhelming feeding challenges feel manageable. Her clinical expertise includes: Functional oral assessments Tongue- and lip-tie evaluation and pre/post-frenectomy care Bottle refusal and complex feeding challenges Low milk supply and oversupply Pumping plans and precise flange fitting Infant oral motor function and oral habilitation Emily has supported thousands of families across South Central Kentucky and beyond, providing in-home, in-office, and virtual lactation care. Emily earned her Master of Social Work (MSW) with a 4.0 GPA before opening her practice in 2020. That foundation shapes her approach today: every consultation centers the parent’s emotional wellbeing just as much as the baby’s feeding needs. She believes feeding support must be holistic, inclusive, judgment-free, and grounded in real-life practicality — because families thrive when they feel safe, supported, and genuinely understood. Outside her clinical skillset, Emily brings something else into her work: lived experience. She has a complex medical history and knows firsthand how discouraging it can feel when the medical system overlooks or dismisses your concerns. That personal journey fuels her unwavering commitment to truly listening, validating, and advocating for the families she serves. Emily is also a real human behind the scrubs and certifications — and her families often say that’s what makes her care so special. She is a proud Swiftie and will happily talk all things Taylor Swift if you let her. Taylor’s music has carried her through the highest highs and hardest lows of life, and continues to fill her cup daily. She’s also a lover of comfy clothes, cozy vibes, and a no-makeup (just skincare!) lifestyle, because caring for babies — and parents — is much easier when you show up as your authentic self. Emily is a respected community leader. She founded the Feed + Nurture Donation & Financial Assistance Program, which provides free and reduced-cost lactation care and feeding supplies to families in need. She serves as a Board Member and Organizer for Bowling Green’s Promise Walk for Preeclampsia, has been recognized as a 2023 Hometown Hero, and was honored as a VIP Bowling Green “40 Under 40” for her leadership and impact in maternal-infant health. In her professional community, Emily serves as the Secretary of the Kentuckiana Lactation Improvement Coalition (KLIC), helping advance lactation support and professional collaboration across the region. She maintains active membership in USLCA, IABLE, and KLIC, and pursues ongoing advanced training, including yearly participation in the GOLD Tongue-Tie Symposium and continuing education in oral function and infant feeding science. Above all, Emily’s mission is simple: to make feeding feel calmer, clearer, and more connected for every family she serves — and to ensure parents feel genuinely seen, understood, and supported every step of the way.

Emily is amazing! She helped breastfeeding feel comfortable and made our family feel supported. She made sure to be available, especially after we had our surgery. She supported us throughout the entire healing process. We will not go to anyone else, we will be using her for any potential future problems and with any other children we have in the future. Go to Emily, you won’t be disappointed!
