I have a bachelor’s degree in Child Development, work as a family support specialist and home visitor, and am currently completing my postpartum doula certification. As a mother, I know how hard it can be to welcome a baby while feeling like people no longer see you. Everyone asks about the baby, but who asks whether you’ve eaten? Whether you’ve slept? Whether you need a shower, a good cry, or someone to listen without judgment? My own postpartum journey is why this work means so much to me. Hi families! I'm Da'Vonna Henderson but I go by Vonna :) I'm a Certified Full-Spectrum Doula and a Certified Breastfeeding Specialist. I'm based in the Champaign-Urbana area but willing to travel up to an hour away to provide services. I dabbled in birth work for about 3 years before I decided to become officially certified in September of 2026. As a mommy of 4, I'm all too familiar with the labor and delivery process. I'm also familiar with the feeling of being undermined and dismissed. As your doula, my job would be to advocate when you feel unheard, give comfort when you feel stressed and to provide safety when you feel threatened. I'm here to give unwavering support to families during an extremely beautiful yet vulnerable time in their lives. My arms are open to work with any and all kinds of individuals as I understand folks come from different walks of life and may not appear to be the "traditional" family.
