I have a deep passion for walking alongside women in the sacred season of postpartum. Whether it's through a listening ear, a warm meal, or simply reminding you that you’re not alone, my heart is to serve with gentleness and joy—always pointing back to Christ as our ultimate source of strength and peace. When I’m not working or it's nap time, you can usually find me curled up with a devotional and a latte, catching up with friends, working out, or spending quiet time with my husband. Hello! I’m Erykah, a full-spectrum doula with a background in physical therapy, prenatal and postnatal fitness, and community health research, with a special focus on serving minority and Indigenous families. My approach is holistic and deeply personal: I believe every parent deserves to feel seen, heard, and empowered to make choices that reflect their unique values and traditions. I blend evidence-based care with compassion, open communication, and cultural awareness, creating a nurturing space where families can feel confident and supported as they welcome their new little one. For me, this work is more than a service, it’s a calling rooted in respect and the belief that every family’s story is sacred.

I’m a work from home mom and I had my first baby in June of 2023! My husband and I have been married since 2022 and we’ve grown up in Kansas City our whole life. I’ve been passionate about birth since I saw my mother birth her last two children about 10 years ago and noticed how much women need advocates and support during pregnancy, labor, delivery and postpartum! Since then, I’ve been trained as a doula through GEM (Global Education of the Midwife) and have been pursuing a postpartum doula course as well. I hope to provide my clients with all the information necessary to empower them to make informed decisions about their birth plan/goals. If a client is open to it, I also love my Christian faith and try to implement that in areas of my work as well.

I am a mother of 5 and Dede (grandmother)to one darling little girl. I am a proud member of the LGBTQIA+ community. I am an animal lover with 2 rescue dogs and 2 rescue pigs! I love to cook vegan meals and enjoy taking traditional meal recipes and making them vegan! I have a huge heart and am very sensitive to my environment and those around me in an intuitive way. I LOVE people and am genuinely curious about everyone I meet. I have been told my whole life that I am a good listener. I also have unique perspective on life and situations in general. During stressful events, I am a pillar of strength, calm and stoic. I help those around me stay grounded. Maybe that makes me sound boring, but I assure you I am anything BUT. My sense of humor will keep you laughing (releasing oxytocin) through labor. Until you get to the part where you need quiet. I have an uncanny ability to "read the room" and blend in to the background if that's what best suits the situation. I connect and attune quickly and effortlessly to my clients. I have been a doula for about 20 years. When I was in the thick of motherhood myself, I knew that I needed a career where I could help people during life's transitions. My business took off and here we are. Over that course of time, I have served hundreds of families and have trained hundreds of doulas too!

Before becoming a doula, she got a degree in Psychology at the University of Kansas in hopes of becoming a Clinical Psychologist, but all these ambitions changed when she was expecting her first child in 2022. She fell in love with pregnancy and birth and knew she was called to become a doula. Just as Lizzy felt educated, supported, and empowered in her own birth, she hopes to help mothers and their families feel the same.
