My journey into birth work began after having two difficult birth experiences of my own. I didn’t have the support I needed, and I carried that feeling of being unheard and overwhelmed for a long time. Later, I spent years caring for my grandmother, and although I loved being there for her, after she passed I knew I wanted to help people in a different way. When I discovered what doulas do, something clicked. I realized I wanted to be the person I never had—someone who advocates, comforts, and helps birthing people relax into their own strength. I completed my Birth Doula and Postpartum care Training with Doula Love LLC in Portland, OR continued my education with additional training in trauma-informed care, oral health, cultural competency, CPR for adults/children/infants (for nurses), and basic lactation support. My approach is grounded in compassion, kindness, and a genuine desire to help families feel safe, informed, and supported. I’m a little shy at first, but I warm up quickly. I have ADHD, so every now and then I get a burst of energy—usually in a fun, optimistic way. I’m also disabled and live with POTS, but it doesn’t stop me from showing up fully for the families I support. I’m a young doula at 25, a mom of two, an animal lover, I love waterfalls, and a bit of a video-game nerd, Anima is a big part of my time. Before working with postpartum families, I was a newborn nanny. I specialize in providing awake care overnights, meaning I stay awake all night during overnight shifts. While baby is sleeping I can help with laundry, bottle/pump parts washing and sterilizing, food prep and light household tasks. Growing up with six brothers and one sister, she mastered the art of caring for her siblings and is often hailed as the best big sister ever! Tallina lives in Portland with her two spouses and their three furry companions: Zuko, the playful landshark dog; Rory, the wise old cat; and Falcor, the curious kitty. In her free time, she enjoys reading, spending time with her family, and creating fun, funky art for her yard. After years of working with toddlers and families in daycare and outreach programs, Tallina discovered her passion for birth work. Following her training and certification, she went from being curious about birth to being utterly in love with the science and magic behind it. Her goal is to support clients in achieving their ideal birth experience. Tallina understands that childbirth can be challenging, so she works closely with your birth team.
