Welcome to Yes Doula! My name is Letisha McFarlane Hadley, and I am a DONA-trained Birth Doula, Bebo Mia trained Postpartum Doula, Certified Orgasmic Birth Practitioner, Mental Health First Aider and Co-Founder of Yes Doula, a New Jersey-based maternal wellness practice supporting families through both in-person and virtual care. My journey into birth work began at 21, when I supported my mother through her pregnancy and cesarean birth. Years later, I had the honor of supporting my sister through the births of my nieces. These experiences, along with my own three empowering and pleasurable births, sparked a deep calling to support other women and families through the transformative experience of birth. My perspective on birth shifted profoundly through the Orgasmic Birth Practitioner Program and Debra Pascali-Bonaro’s film, Orgasmic Birth: The Best Kept Secret. It became more clear to me, the powerful connection between birth, sensuality, love, and pleasure. This inspired me to share a different vision of birth: one that moves beyond fear and centers trust, connection, choice, and the body's innate wisdom. At Yes Doula, I believe every woman deserves to feel informed, supported, and empowered to make choices that reflect her needs and desires. Whether you are preparing for an unmedicated birth, a VBAC, an epidural-supported birth, or simply seeking a more connected and conscious birth experience, I am here to support you without judgment. I offer personalized in-person and virtual birth and postpartum support, meeting families where they are and providing care that fits their needs. From prenatal preparation and continuous labor support to newborn care guidance and the adjustment to life after birth, my goal is to help you feel supported throughout your journey. I also believe that partners deserve to be informed, included, and empowered. Through education, birth preparation, and partner support, I help families approach birth as a shared experience. How I Can Support You Birth Doula Support: ~Prenatal education, birth preparation, and personalized birth planning ~Emotional, physical, and informational support throughout labor and birth ~Comfort measures, breathing, movement, positioning, and relaxation techniques ~Support navigating your options and communicating your preferences ~Partner preparation and guidance Postpartum Doula Support: ~Emotional support and space to process your birth experience ~Newborn care guidance, including soothing, sleep, and daily rhythms ~Feeding support for breastfeeding, pumping, and bottle-feeding ~Practical, hands-on help as you settle into life with your baby ~Light household assistance related to baby care ~Support for partners and siblings as your family adjusts ~Help creating a calm, nurturing environment that encourages rest and recovery As a wife, mother of three, and lifelong caregiver, I understand that every birth and every family is unique. I am a Venezuelan born, Miami raised, queer, cis woman who has always been obsessed with babies and everything birth. Ever since I was a little girl, I’ve known that I wanted to work with children and parents. I did everything from teach dance, child wrangle, summer camp counselor, and eventually a full-time nanny. I have worked as a nanny for the last 13 years. I am finally walking the road to becoming a birth and postpartum doula, and I am beyond thrilled to be working with you. My intentions are to bring light, love, safety, and knowledge to families in need of assistance during both birth and postpartum. I believe you should be able to speak freely of any concerns or questions you may have about your pregnancy and newborn. I believe that it is your right to rest and be able to enjoy the journey into parenting, whether it is your first child, or your third.

We cannot recommend Elanor enough. She is an incredible full-time nanny for our family, and has been for the last five years. She handled our first child and then transitioned to handing both when we had our second; she was especially amazing while juggling our newborn and toddler. She is calm, patient, warm, and has never once raised her voice - a quality that has been especially wonderful for our sensitive children. At the same time, she is firm and consistent, sets clear boundaries, and is excellent at discipline in a calm and respectful way. She is incredibly flexible, often staying late or coming early when needed, and even traveled with us on many family vacations, giving us daytime coverage and the opportunity for much needed date nights. She also handles doctor appointments, kids sports/activities, and all the everyday logistics of caring for two young children. She became such a trusted and important part of our family, and we feel incredibly lucky to have her in our children’s lives.

I'm fluent in English and Russian. I'm honored to support families from diverse backgrounds. I look forward to being a trusted part of your birth journey.

As a first-time mom, I had so many questions (and new ones seemed to come up every week!), and working with Elmira has made such a difference in my pregnancy experience. Even before our birth, she has been incredibly proactive, checking in regularly, answering every question with patience, and often anticipating concerns before I even think to ask. I never feel like I'm bothering her, and that kind of support has given me so much reassurance during a time that can feel overwhelming. One thing that has been especially meaningful for my husband and me is that we're an international couple. Elmira understands both of our languages and cultures, and she naturally incorporates that into the way she communicates and supports us. It has made us both feel seen, understood, and included throughout this journey. We're genuinely looking forward to taking her birthing classes together because we've already learned so much from her. She has a calming presence, is incredibly knowledgeable, and truly cares about the families she works with. If you're looking for a doula who is responsive, compassionate, and invested in helping you feel informed and confident every step of the way, I wholeheartedly recommend Elmira. We're so grateful to have found her and can't wait to continue this journey with her.

While working as a childbirth educator at the hospital, Ines saw the necessity of giving additional support to her clients. She has trained with DONA International to obtain all the required skills to assist mothers during the birth process. Ines is dedicated to expanding her knowledge by attending maternal and child health conferences, seminars, and networking with health professionals in the community. Since 2020, I have supported growing families through pregnancy, birth, recovery, infant care, and the transition into parenthood. As a mother of seven and grandmother of six, I understand how meaningful it is to feel heard, respected, and cared for during this season. My philosophy centers on informed choice, compassionate support, and respect for each family’s individual needs. I offer evidence-informed education, emotional reassurance, physical comfort, and practical guidance without judgment or pressure. My goal is to help you feel prepared, confident, and supported throughout your journey.

Recent review

I hired Shayvonne as a doula, and it was the best decision I made. While my husband was extremely attentive and a wonderful support during labor, Shayvonne provided effective interventions for pain management and also gave my husband an opportunity to rest so he could have energy post delivery. Throughout the whole process, Shayvonne helped me to stay calm and hopeful. When I was too tired to voice my needs or wanted to give up, she quickly picked up on it and provided the encouragement and motivation I needed. There was no doubt in my mind that I could trust her completely to listen to me and advocate for me. I couldn’t have asked for a better doula.
