I have worked in labor and delivery and many aspects of pediatrics over the years. ​ I loved working with new moms and their partners. I was missing it so I went back to school and became trained as a certified labor doula allowing me to get back into the field of labor and delivery. After teaching classroom music and violin lessons for over 13 years, I decided to become a HypnoBirthing Certified Educator when my 3rd HypnoBirthing baby was born. Darcy Sauers is a postpartum doula certified by DONA International, a Certified Lactation Counselor, and the founder of Dover Doula. Since 2010, she has helped hundreds of Seacoast families through the tender first weeks of new parenthood. She's also a certified Prenatal Yoga and Yoga Birth Method instructor, and she lives in Dover with her three grown children. Her passion is the twelve weeks after a baby's birth, an amazing and transformational time in the life of the baby, the parents, and the whole family. As your postpartum doula, Darcy is there to support you through it.

My personal journey into motherhood was filled with unexpected twists and turns. I faced a high-risk pregnancy, a traumatic birth, and an emotionally challenging NICU stay. These experiences opened my eyes to the gaps in maternal support, particularly in relation to mental health. Witnessing the impact that inadequate support had on my own well-being, I made it my mission to bridge those gaps and provide the tools necessary to ease the mental load of motherhood. Becoming a doula was a natural progression for me. I felt a deep calling to support other mothers as they navigate the physical, emotional, and mental challenges that come with pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period. My goal is to empower mothers to take charge of their own mental well-being, equipping them with the knowledge, resources, and support they need to thrive.
