I support families in the weeks and months after baby arrives. In person, virtually, all across Hampton and the surrounding NH towns, southern Maine, and the North Shore of MA. Most nights I'm in your home while you sleep. I handle the feeds, the diaper changes, the 3am stuff, so you can actually rest instead of running on empty. Daytime shifts look different depending on what you need that day. Some families want a hand with the baby. Some want help around the house. Some just want someone there who knows what they're doing. I used to get tangled up in the idea that paid support wasn't as real as a village showing up for free, but I don't anymore. When I was in it myself, some of the people who showed up were paid and some weren't. In the moment, I didn't care which was which. I was just glad someone was there. What matters is whether the person in your house is actually present with you, not just going through the motions. That's what I try to be.

Kourtney is gift to the postpartum world. We will forever be grateful for her help in our first nights as new parents and her continued support to this day. Her calm demeanor immediately put us at ease and we felt so comfortable knowing that our baby was under her care during her overnight stays. She is incredibly organized and knowledgeable. We loved that she created a live notes doc to update us on our son and also provided us links and information on questions we had asked. Kourtney wants the best for families and we truly felt this support. Even just recently she met with me to go over a carseat concern I had and was able to fix the problem in minutes. We love Kourtney and could not recommend working with her more!

Laurie Wood

My name is Laurie Wood and I am passionate about supporting families through the incredible journey of childbirth and beyond. With a gentle touch and a compassionate heart, I’m here to ensure you feel empowered and cared for every step of the way. Before becoming a doula, I spent 30 years as a public school educator, working closely with children and families through meaningful milestones. My own positive birth experiences—including the birth of my first child with the support of a midwife—deepened my belief in the need for compassionate, informed care. I know that birth can feel overwhelming or uncertain, and I believe women have a unique and powerful ability to support all birthing parents through it. As a doula, I bring warmth, calm, and a steady presence to help you feel safe, supported, and confident throughout your pregnancy and birth experience. I have a blended family of six grown children and nine wonderful grandchildren who keep me closely connected to both the joys and challenges of raising children in today’s ever-changing world. Their presence in my life reminds me daily how each parenting journey is unique—and how important it is to feel supported, heard, and encouraged as a parent.

Laurie provided great support and assistance at my birth. I was a first time mom I wasn’t sure what to expect but Laurie made sure to walk me through things so I felt better prepared going in. During birth she was a calm, quiet presence being there to support but not interfering with the experience between my husband and I. She advocated for me in times I wasn’t able to and made sure my husband and I we fully informed about everything that was happening. I would definitely use her services again and recommend her to anyone else I know.

There truly aren’t words to capture how much Kourtney meant to our family during our twins early days. She went above and beyond from the very beginning, from checking in while our twins were still in the NICU, to seamlessly stepping in to support us at home once they were discharged. She was always available for questions, meeting everything we asked with zero judgment and so much empathy. Kourtney supported us in ways both big and small, helping to ensure I was adequately nourished and hydrated, and stepping in on the household front so we could simply sit and soak in those precious newborn cuddles. During some of our most stressful moments, she brought a calm, steady presence and offered gentle, reassuring guidance (including knowing when it was time to call the pediatrician). She was the first person we trusted with our babies outside of family, which says everything. We are endlessly grateful for her care, compassion, and wisdom. Saying goodbye will be one of the hardest parts of this chapter. I would recommend her wholeheartedly to anyone lucky enough to work with her.

Staci Rooney offered her services for my second pregnancy. My first pregnancy was very straining and I was pushing for 3+ hours. I am strong believer that Staci used her learned techniques to help me deliver my baby girl smoothly and safely. Staci provided me with education and assistance on different stretches to help prepare the birth canal. Staci was patient and understanding, but most importantly supportive. She made it clear she was there for support and not to persuade me in any certain way which made me feel comfortable. Without Staci, I don't think I would have pushed for only 15 minutes! Everything went so smooth. I would highly recommend her to any future mothers looking for a doula.
