Emma Steeves

Packages from $1,100 · $40/hr

Hi, I’m Emma, your local birth bestie and birth aficionado! I’m a DONA trained doula based out of Toronto, ON looking to support families throughout their birth journey. My goal is to provide amazing care to each client, tailored to their specific needs. Ever since I was young, I have been passionate about supporting families. Inspired by my childhood dreams of being a early childhood educator, an OBGYN and later a midwife, I have always felt a strong pull towards family care and birth work. In my community, I started by becoming the favourite neighborhood babysitter, then in University I became a loving part time nanny, then moved on to work as a manager of a children’s swim school for several years. Alongside my passion for birth support, I have a deep appreciation for art and creativity. I spent three years working at an art gallery and went on to get my Bachelor’s of Fine Arts degree in Painting. Even then, my dream of caring for families never left me, with my passions leading me to run impromptu prenatal education sessions during lunch breaks at work. In May of 2024 I made the exciting decision to take a step back from my art career and focus full time on becoming a doula. Now, I am dedicated to being the best “birth bestie” I can be for my clients by proving them with compassionate care, encouragement, and unwavering support every step of the way.

Words can’t fully express how grateful we are to have had Doris as our birth doula. From the very beginning, she brought such a calming, grounded, and nurturing energy into our journey. She took the time to truly get to know us—our fears, hopes, and birth preferences—and made us feel completely supported and empowered every step of the way. During labor, Doris was an absolute rock. She created a peaceful environment, gently guided me through each contraction, and helped my partner feel confident and involved. Her presence was intuitive and comforting—knowing just when to offer words of encouragement, grounding touch, or simply hold space. She honored our birth plan while remaining flexible and wise when things needed to shift. What stood out most was how she held space not just for the physical birth, but for the emotional and spiritual process too. Her care felt ancestral, like something deep and sacred was being honored. Postpartum, she checked in with such genuine care, offering wisdom, warmth, and reassurance when we needed it most. If you’re looking for a doula who is deeply attuned, knowledgeable, and truly walks beside you in love and respect—Doris is it. She made our birth experience not only beautiful, but transformational

Hello! I'm Benna, a certified Birth and Postpartum Doula and founder of Merry Mornings Doula Support based in Pickering, serving families across Durham Region and the GTA. I provide calm, trauma-informed, non-judgmental, and evidence-based support to help make your pregnancy, labor and early mornings with a newborn feel a little merrier. I am independently certified under Carrot insurance coverage and I offer full-spectrum care under my own practice from prenatal visits and childbirth education, to continuous labour and birth support at home or hospital, and nurturing postpartum and breastfeeding support. I'm a mobile doula and I come to you, wherever you need me.

Recent review

I had the pleasure of having Benna as my doula, and I truly couldn’t have asked for a better experience. She came in as a replacement on the day of my delivery as the Doula I was working with got sick. From the moment she arrived, she took over seamlessly and made me feel completely at ease. Her kind, calm, and reassuring presence immediately radiated through the room and helped me feel comfortable during what was such an intense and emotional time. She was incredibly hands-on and attentive throughout the entire experience. She kept me engaged, shared her own stories, birth intention activity and experiences, guided me through different positions and practices, and was always looking for ways to make me more comfortable. She genuinely went the extra mile. What I especially appreciated was how she supported my husband as well. She helped him understand how he could support me, which made us feel like a team rather than leaving him unsure of what to do. Even though she joined us unexpectedly on the day of delivery, she never felt like a replacement. She brought such warmth, confidence, and professionalism to the experience, and I am genuinely grateful that she was there for one of the most important days of our lives. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a doula who is calm, compassionate, knowledgeable, and truly hands-on. ❤️

Mandy Sounder

Becoming a parent is a season you shouldn't have to move through alone. I'm Mandy, founder of Agape Care Doulas in Toronto, supporting families through birth and the postpartum weeks that follow — including overnight care. As a mother of four, I know both the beauty and the exhaustion of those early days. My role is simple: to be a calm, steady presence so you can rest, recover, and settle into life with your baby at your own pace. Whether you're planning for labour support, need hands-on help at home, or want someone with you through the night, I'd love to hear what your family needs.

Recent review

We truly cannot recommend Mandy highly enough. We have now hired her to support our family twice, the first time for six months with our first baby, and again for eight months with our second - and without hesitation, we would choose her over and over again. I’m someone who doesn’t trust people easily, especially when it comes to my children. Inviting someone into your home overnight and trusting them with your newborn is incredibly personal. Out of all the doulas available, Mandy would be my first choice every single time. From the moment she walked into our home, she brought a calm, reassuring presence that made those exhausting newborn months so much easier. She is exceptionally knowledgeable about newborn care and was always happy to answer our endless questions, offer guidance when we needed it, and gently share her expertise without ever being pushy. She was always reassuring us through the many “Is this normal?” moments of early parenthood. Most importantly, Mandy cared for our babies as if they were her own while always respecting that they were ours. She was gentle, patient, attentive, and incredibly intuitive. We slept peacefully because we knew they were in the safest, most caring hands possible. After having Mandy with both of our children, I honestly can’t imagine those postpartum months without her. She gave us not only rest, but confidence, reassurance, and support during one of the biggest transitions of our lives. If you’re considering hiring Mandy, don’t hesitate. She is worth every penny, and I would recommend her to anyone without the slightest reservation. We feel incredibly fortunate to have had her as part of our family’s journey, and if we were ever fortunate enough to have another baby, she would be the very first person we’d call.

Hi, I’m Tisa. I am a certified labour and Postpartum Doula and proud mom of six beautiful children. I consider myself to be a compassionate person who strives to help you and your family navigate this new exciting chapter of your lives. I strongly believe it is my mission to help you have not only a positive postpartum journey but to help better assist and equip you with all the right tools for success. My passion for birth work began 20 years ago after the birth of my eldest son. Due to a series of events that could have very well crippled me only made me stronger. I was very fortunate to find access to many great regional programs and I met someone who not only poured wisdom into me at a young age but believed I could do great things in this field of work. I will never let my birth trauma define me, rather it has shaped me into who I am today. I am dedicated to providing assistance, support and spreading the message that you are not alone. My role as your doula is to provide continuous emotional, physical, and informational support. I am committed to empowering you to make informed decisions. The Postpartum stage isn't a race, it's about picking up the little pieces we may lose along the way. When I am not attending a birth or working overnight postpartum shifts, you can most likely find me in the comfort of my home surrounded by my family. My house is filled with laughter, playful banter, persistent chirps from my Lovebirds and Conure, yapping can be heard from the family Pomeranian; Mochi. I enjoy worship nights held by my church, reading webtoons, soaking up k-dramas and building miniature wooden puzzles and book-nooks.

Hi, I’m Angelina, co-founder of Cradira and a Perinatal Support Worker/Postpartum Doula serving families across the Greater Toronto Area. I provide overnight postpartum support for expecting and new parents who need more rest, more reassurance, and fewer “are we supposed to know what we’re doing?” moments. My work includes newborn care, postpartum recovery support, feeding and sleep guidance, emotional reassurance, and practical help with the everyday reality of life after baby arrives. Because yes, the baby is a big part of postpartum. Obviously. But so are the dishes, the laundry, the night plan, the feeding setup, the relationship stress, the texts from people asking how they can help, and the fact that someone still needs to know where the clean sleepers are. Over the last 25 years, I’ve learned that families usually don’t need more pressure or perfect-parent advice. They need someone calm, experienced, and practical who can walk into the real-life version of their home and help things feel a little less chaotic. Many of the families I support are also carrying more than newborn care alone: anxiety, depression, PMADs, fertility stress, loss, neurodivergence, relationship strain, or the pressure of being the person who usually keeps everything running. I don’t diagnose or provide therapy, but I am very comfortable supporting families where these realities are part of the picture. That might mean taking over baby care so parents can sleep, supporting a feeding plan, talking through newborn sleep, helping with bottles or pump parts, giving parents a chance to rest, or helping make the household pieces a little easier to manage. Sometimes the biggest relief is not a complicated plan. It’s someone saying, “Okay. Here’s what we’re going to tackle next.” My approach is warm, inclusive, evidence-informed, and rooted in real life. I’m not here to tell families there is one right way to do this. I’m here to help them feel steadier, more supported, and less like they have to hold everything in their heads. Baby doesn’t need perfection. Your family needs steady support, realistic plans, and someone calm in the room when everything feels like a lot.

She is a human encyclopedia for all things baby-related, guiding us through sleep routines, nursing challenges, and serving as a wonderful sounding board for our concerns. Angelina strikes the perfect balance between listening to our needs, sharing her expert opinion, and collaborating on the best solutions. We highly recommend working with her!

Hi there! My journey as a birth and postpartum doula began with a simple yet powerful realization: too many families face parenthood weighed down by fear, doubt, and isolation. My work is about helping you build confidence, trust your instincts, and embrace the beautiful, imperfect journey of parenthood with peace and strength. From the very first flutter of possibility through the tender, tiring, beautiful early days of parenthood, my team and I aim to be the bridge that helps families feel supported, informed, and empowered. My approach to birth blends practical knowledge with heartfelt care—nurturing nutrition, mindset preparation, and gentle body movement—so every family feels ready, capable, and never alone. When I'm not serving as a doula, you'll find me nose-deep in a book, wandering through nature, or soaking up time with my own family—the very thing that inspired this work in the first place.

Fiona was absolutely amazing! She prepared us so much for postpartum that we had minor issues. During my labour she was the reason I felt supported enough for my husband to deliver our baby, she also did prep with him beforehand and everyone was raving about how well he did! We had a beautiful experience, she made me feel so safe. I couldn’t have gotten through my labour so well without her. I had an absolutely beautiful stress free home birth with her. We will definitely be booking her for the next 😅☺️

Nijah Smith

Nijah is an artist and postpartum doula that was drawn to the world of birthwork due to her natural ability to nurture and connect with young children and their caregivers. Nijah began formally working with families as a STEAM educator for kids 10 years and under, and is a skilled teacher and tutor whose educational and lived experiences cultivated a compassionate and pragmatic approach to supporting families. She has a deep, personal understanding of the challenges that come with raising a child in challenging environments and an expansive background working with people from diverse cultural and social backgrounds, allowing her to be mindful of a client’s cultural or social values and potential barriers in accessing care. With this, her hands-on, intuitive approach to her work can fill the gaps to create a holistic care plan that is all-encompassing but flexible to accommodate a family’s changing needs.

Recent review

Nijah Smith was a great doula during my postpartum experience. What stood out the most was how naturally connected she was with my baby girl. She instantly analyzed what she needed, and responded with such calm confidence. Nijah assisted greatly with household tasks, helping me latch, and helping her settle. Because she was so attentive, observant, and proactive with the baby, I actually got to rest—and real rest. I felt safe enough to sleep because I knew my daughter was in good hands. I’m deeply grateful for her, and I would recommend her to any parent who wants someone alert ,gentle, and proactive to support their family.
