The cost of a night nanny in San Jose, CA can be influenced by several factors:

  • Experience and Qualifications

Nannies with extensive experience, certifications (e.g., newborn care specialist), or specific training often charge higher rates.

  • Number of Babies

Caring for twins or multiples typically costs more than caring for a single baby due to the increased workload.

  • Hours and Duration

Rates may vary depending on the number of hours per night, the total number of nights required, and whether the arrangement is short-term or long-term.

  • Duties and Responsibilities

Additional responsibilities, such as bottle preparation, light housekeeping, or sleep training, can increase the cost.

  • Time of Year

Demand during peak times, like the holiday season, may drive prices higher.

  • Agency Fees

Hiring through an agency often includes placement fees or additional charges for their services, adding to the overall cost.

  • Overnight Rates vs. Hourly Rates

Some nannies charge a flat overnight rate, while others charge hourly, which can influence costs depending on the length of the shift.

When considering hiring a night nanny in San Jose, CA, it's advisable to research and interview several night nannies to find one who aligns with your preferences, needs, and budget. During consultations, you can discuss their specific services and pricing structure to ensure you have a clear understanding of what is included and the associated costs. This process will help you find a night nanny who meets your needs and fits within your budget.

Klarity is a healer in the traditional sense of the word. Thanks to their caring questions and intuition, they deeply understood my husband and me and tailored our birthing classes and hypnotherapy sessions accordingly. Not only did they prepare us for birth, but for parenting itself. Thanks to our work together, I had the calm, empowered birth I hoped for. They were the best doula we could have asked for! In addition to their technical skill and training as a doula, they are also a gifted energy worker. Time after time, they helped us shift energy into more positive, value-driven directions, in the birthing classes as well as in the delivery room. In Klarity’s hands you will experience deep care and wise advocacy.

I am a full-spectrum doula trained by Doula Trainings International (DTI) and hold a Bachelor's degree from San Jose State University. After experiencing the challenges new parents face firsthand with the arrival of my own two children, I dedicated myself to improving support for families during this transformative time. I firmly believe in the power of community, as captured by the phrase “it takes a village.” I am committed to being that supportive presence for your family, guiding you through every aspect of the birth, labor, and postpartum experience.

Recent review

Sarah was an unwavering source of support during one of the most physically and emotionally challenging experiences of my life. After choosing to have an at-home abortion, I found myself in the hospital due to unmanageable pain and later faced complications and prolonged bleeding for over two months. Through it all, Sarah was there—offering not just physical comfort, but deep emotional and mental support. She provided reassurance when I felt scared, advocated for me when I felt unheard, and helped me navigate the overwhelming aftermath with patience and compassion. Her presence was a lifeline, creating a safe space where I could process my emotions without judgment. Whether it was through gentle encouragement, grounding techniques, or simply holding space for my emotions, Sarah made sure I never felt alone in my healing process. I am beyond grateful for her kindness, knowledge, and unwavering care during such a difficult time.

I found Camila through Carrot’s recommended list of postpartum doulas, and as a first-time mom, I’ll admit I was nervous about having someone else care for my daughter. After our consultation, I had such a good feeling about Camila, and that’s where it all began. We had Camila with us for six weeks, and I truly couldn’t have asked for a better postpartum doula. Her experience with babies is evident in everything she does. She cared for my daughter as if she were her own—with so much patience, love, and understanding, even through the most restless nights. Beyond caring for my daughter, Camila was also an incredible source of support for me. She gave me so many helpful tips and advice as a new mom, and I’m incredibly grateful for the confidence she helped give me during those early weeks. She was not only our doula but also became a friend who was there to help me navigate the ups and downs of new motherhood. Knowing my daughter was in such capable and loving hands allowed me to truly rest at night, which was invaluable during those first six weeks. I’m so grateful we found Camila and would highly recommend her to any new mom looking for compassionate, experienced, and trustworthy postpartum support. She was such an important part of our transition into parenthood, and we’ll always appreciate everything she did for our family.

My practice focuses on providing a judgment-free space where parents can access both emotional and informational support. In my free time, I enjoy reading to my baby, experimenting with new recipes, and listening to good music.

Recent review

Having Lynda as my doula was one of the greatest blessings during such a vulnerable and life changing season. From the very beginning, she created a space where I felt safe, heard, and completely supported. Her calm presence reassured me in moments of uncertainty, and her knowledge gave me confidence in every decision I needed to make. She did not just care for me physically, she cared for me emotionally. Lynda took the time to explain things clearly, offered practical guidance, and supported my choices without judgment. That balance of professionalism and compassion made all the difference. What touched me most was the way she extended that same warmth and patience to my daughter. She was gentle, attentive, and genuinely kind, which meant so much to me as a mother. Seeing my child comfortable and cared for while I received support was incredibly reassuring. Because of Lynda, I look back on my experience with gratitude rather than overwhelm. I feel stronger, more confident, and deeply thankful that she was part of our journey. I wholeheartedly recommend her to any mother seeking not just a doula, but a steady and compassionate presence during such an important time.

I’m a Certified Newborn Care Specialist with nearly 7 years of childcare experience and a special passion for caring for newborns and infants. Throughout my career, I’ve supported families through both daytime and overnight care, and the newborn stage has always been one of my favorites. I find it amazing to watch babies grow and develop so quickly, from learning their individual cues and personalities to seeing the little milestones they reach along the way. I understand that welcoming a new baby can be both exciting and overwhelming, and I love being able to support parents during this transition. My goal is to provide a calm, loving, and safe environment for their baby while also helping parents feel confident and supported in their new role. I enjoy sharing the knowledge and experience I’ve gained over the years, while always respecting each family’s preferences and parenting style. Most importantly, I want parents to feel safe, comfortable, and reassured knowing their little one is in caring and experienced hands.

Recent review

Caroline provided night nanny care for our 2 month old over the course of 3 months. Caroline is an incredibly warm and thoughtful nanny and receptive to feedback. We fully trusted Caroline with the overnight care of our newborn. The only reason we parted ways was because our son began to sleep through an entire night and we felt it unnecessary to have overnight support.

Amy views herself as a trusted partner who is dedicated to helping new parents discover the needs of their individual children and families, while helping to smooth the edges of everyday life with a newborn so you can enjoy this special time.

We absolutely loved having Amy's help during my postpartum period. She was so reliable, helpful, knowledgeable, and a pro. We trusted her wholeheartedly to care for our little newborn. She also was a calming presence that put us at ease from night 1. We appreciated everything she taught us and for the extra sleep she allowed us to get that first month!

Nathalia is the best! She has a sweet and gentle demeanor which puts babies and parents at ease. She is incredibly thoughtful and insightful, and made several recommendations to help us sleep longer (our main priority), which really helped. She also immediately identified a deeper issue I’d been having related to milk supply and raised it incredibly tactfully and helped me move past it. Faith had truly become an extension of our family for the first 3 months of our daughter's life! We started working with Faith when our daughter was less than a week old, and from the beginning she brought such a calm, confident, and warm presence into our home during the chaotic time of early parenthood with a newborn. She is very trustworthy, prompt, and reliable. For my husband, she represented safety and stability as he knew our daughter was safe and we could have a good night's sleep. For me, she was also a trusted mentor into motherhood - both from her professional training and her experience of being a mother to 3 children. She helped me navigate breastfeeding/pumping and how much my baby was eating, she taught us how to calm an overtired crying newborn, hunger vs overtiredness cues, transitioning from a swaddle to a sleep sack, fussiness from vaccines, and more. After 3 months of working with Faith 5 nights per week, we felt like we were finally ready to 'graduate' from Faith and tackle parenthood ourselves as our daughter was easily sleeping 9+ hour stretches at night in her bassinet! I cannot overstate how grateful we are to Faith for her help and guidance with our daughter during those first 3 months - we would have been lost (and extremely sleep deprived) without her. I know she enabled me to be a better mother to my daughter during the days and to have time heal from birth. Faith will be one of our first calls if we have more children! We would love the opportunity to work with her again.
