I have been a CNA for many years, during this time I have worked for acute care, Home care, Hospice, I have worked to support young and old with health struggles.. When I needed a break from the hospital, I was able to get a few Nanny jobs. I truly loved every minute seeing them grow up. I have supplemented my income as a Nanny for several families. Babies are a blessing and childbirth is a miracle! I’ve been blessed with four beautiful children and six beautiful GRANDchildren myself. With my love of babies and the incredible miracle of birth, I found the desire to become a Postpartum Doula. Bringing a new baby home is a life-changing event and integrating that new little bundle of joy into the family can be overwhelming. As your Doula, I will make this transition easier for the entire family. My role as your Doula will also be to provide education, non-judgmental support and companionship. I will offer my expertise in newborn care and breastfeeding support. I will also offer evidence based information on infant feeding, emotional and physical recovery from birth, infant soothing and coping skills. I will make appropriate referrals when necessary. I am a certified Doula through DONA International. The training I received through DONA increased my knowledge and ambition to offer the nurturing care new moms, infants and families so deserve! Hours for my services will be flexible to meet the needs of your family including overnights and travel. I am current in both adult, infant CPR and First Aid Safety Certifications through the American Heart Association. Also, I am current on vaccinations and Trustline Certified. I have always been someone who loves to take care of others. For family and friends, I was the one they’d call in an emergency, when someone is passing, when life decisions were being made. I went to college to become a nurse because I wanted to ensure I had a career where I could support people. God works in mysterious ways and I wasn’t able to apply for the nursing program at the college I went to. I had decided to get a degree in Health Systems Management and later, to do the accelerated nursing program. Plans don’t typically work on the way you dream and I found myself two kids later, 1 year too late, unable to apply for the accelerated nursing program. During this season, I had Andrew, our child that wasn’t birthed with the support of a doula, and I knew, being a doula was my answer. I’ve had felt unseen, unheard and unimportant when I was giving birth and I wanted to make sure that didn’t happen to others. I’m often get introduced as “Doula Jenn” and, I love it. I don’t just doula people through childbirth, I support through life. Parenthood is hard, marriages are hard, finding connection with friends is hard and I want to come alongside you in life. I’m an active member of the High Vibe Mom Tribe and I host virtual book clubs several times a year to support women through their marriages.

I offer overnight support for families with newborns. Besides supporting parents in the care for their newborn I also love to ‘mother the mother’ as she needs to rest and recover in the fourth trimester. I offer practical support, such as help with (breast)feeding, making sure mom stays hydrated and rested, clean bottles and pump parts, help with baby laundry etc. I also provide evidence based information on newborn care as well as emotional support to process all the changes and offer parents encouragement where needed.
