Hi, I’m Nicole! I was born in Houston but raised in Chireno, a small East Texas town just outside of Nacogdoches, and this area has always been home to me. For the past eight years, I’ve owned and managed a cosmetic store in downtown Nacogdoches, and before that, I worked as a CNA for three years. As well as a substitute teacher at a preschool for a year. Looking back, caring for and connecting with people has always been at the heart of what I do. My love for birth work really began after supporting my best friend during her birth in 2024, but watching my sister give birth alongside her doula in March 2026 truly confirmed that this was where my heart belonged. That experience inspired me to start The Nurtured Nest, where I provide birth and postpartum doula support to families in East Texas. My goal is simply to help families feel calm, informed, heard, and genuinely cared for during such an important season of their lives. I welcomed my first child in a hospital setting. While I’m grateful for that experience, it also opened my eyes to how unprepared and disconnected many women can feel during birth. After that birth, and through the heartache of several miscarriages, I spent a lot of time praying asking the Lord to show me my purpose and how He wanted to use my story. In His perfect timing, God answered a lifelong prayer. After the home birth of my second son, everything became clear. My name is Undria, but all my life I’ve been called Angel, and I truly try to live up to that name. As a doula I have, and will help my parents with any questions they may have before birth, and after. No question is off limits, so I want them to feel comfortable to speak on anything that is causing an issue of doubt for them. I’m a breastfeeding educator, so I can also help parents get a good latch after baby is born, and I’m a true supporter of getting baby to latch within the first hour after they are born. I am also available to help the partner who hasn’t given birth feel comfortable with supporting their partner on this journey so that both can be leaning post for each other.
