After that I worked as a chiropractic assistant for 2 years. My favorite part of the job was working with pregnant women and infants. It wasn’t until after I was done having babies that I discovered just what a doula does. I was immediately convinced that I found my calling. I have always loved all things birth and motherhood. I’ve been married to my husband for nine years, and together we’re raising three beautiful children: a curious 7 year old, a spirited 4 year old, and our sweet 2 year old. Motherhood has been one of my greatest teachers, and every birth story I carry my own and the ones I’m honored to witness has shaped the way I serve families. I welcomed my first child in a hospital setting. While I’m grateful for that experience, it also opened my eyes to how unprepared and disconnected many women can feel during birth. After that birth, and through the heartache of several miscarriages, I spent a lot of time praying asking the Lord to show me my purpose and how He wanted to use my story. In His perfect timing, God answered a lifelong prayer. After the home birth of my second son, everything became clear. I experienced firsthand the power of education, support, and trust in the body God designed. That birth changed me and in 2021, I became a doula. My calling is to walk alongside families with open hands and a steady presence, honoring both faith and informed decision making. I believe God created our bodies with intention and wisdom, and I also believe there are moments when medical intervention is necessary and life saving. As a doula I have, and will help my parents with any questions they may have before birth, and after. No question is off limits, so I want them to feel comfortable to speak on anything that is causing an issue of doubt for them. I’m a breastfeeding educator, so I can also help parents get a good latch after baby is born, and I’m a true supporter of getting baby to latch within the first hour after they are born.
