Taylor Jefferson

My name is Taylor Jefferson, and I’m a Certified Birth and Postpartum Doula through DONA International, a Certified Childbirth Educator, Lactation Educator, and Spinning Babies® Parent Educator serving the Greater Houston area. But more than anything, I’m a passionate advocate for safe, equitable, and empowering birth and postpartum experiences for all families—especially those who have historically been overlooked or underserved in maternal care. With over 21 years of hands-on experience in healthcare—spanning Pediatrics and Family Medicine—and the last 6 years dedicated fully to birth work, I bring a unique blend of clinical insight, heartfelt support, and culturally sensitive care to every family I serve. I’m also trained in perinatal maternal mental health, so I show up ready to support the whole you—emotionally, physically, and spiritually. I believe birth is not only sacred—it’s transformative. My approach centers on collaborative, education-driven care so that you feel truly informed and confident in every decision. No two birth or postpartum journeys are ever the same, and that’s the beauty of it. Let’s create a nurturing space where your voice is honored, your choices respected, and your body is supported in doing what it was made to do. I would be honored to walk beside you as your little one makes their way into this world. Let’s bloom through birth & postpartum—together.

We had the pleasure of having Taylor as our Doula for our first born! Taylor was both supportive & provided essential childbirth education prior to my wife being in labor. This helped us know what to expect & what red flags to look out for. During labor, we truly do not know how we would’ve done it with out her. When labor began to intensify she stepped into action to make sure my wife was as comfortable as possible through different stretches, massages, and comforting words. Over the past few months Taylor was more than a doula, she truly felt as part of the family and felt like a critical part of our birthing team at the hospital. I couldn’t recommend her more and we plan on using her for all our future births!

Hello! So great to meet you, I'm Max! I am a LGBT/ Queer affirming birth doula who brings a unique perspective to the pregnancy and laboring experience. My background in body work and physical therapy gives me a distinctive understanding of how to apply my skills as a doula to physiological birth. My calming presence is reassuring to those I'm supporting, and their families. I am passionate about empowering all pregnant and birthing people. My strength is my adaptability; which allows me to support families in their choices. I am a parent to my 13year old clone, who I birthed at home. I run a suburban goat farm and have two giant fur babies that try to steal my bed. (Great Danes named Freyja and Kuma). I enjoy dad jokes, puns, and free books. I identify as a transmasc, nonbinary human. I use they/he pronouns.

Max is the best. I have very complicated pregnancies and work in ob so max understands my stress levels and always put me at ease through out. Our family worked with max during my second pregnancy which was debatably the worst, and my third. Max always had a plan for our sessions and understood how crappy things were for a mom with hg. When it came to my labor all the prep work I did with him absolutely paid off. During these pregnancies I felt more skilled because max. He helped me remain present, create realistic goals, and take care of myself which can be so difficult. I truely trust the work he does and feel that he is such a valuable member of my birth team. Doulas are a blessing.

Debbie Thomas of Guiding Hands Birth Services was an incredible source of peace and guidance throughout our first birth journey. As first-time parents, we had so many questions and hopes for a low-intervention birth. Debbie provided a thoughtful guide we frequently turned to, and her late-night and early morning support allowed us to ask questions without any judgment. During my long 35-hour labor, Debbie remained a calming and steady presence, even when complications led to a C-section. Afterward, my husband reflected on the moments where I was so scared and weak, she was able to give support he didn’t know to give ‘That’s exactly why we decided to hire Debbie… she was worth every penny.’ She has such a heart for serving others, and we are deeply grateful. If you are in The Woodlands or surrounding area, Debbie Thomas is exactly who you want by your side… she will guide you with compassion, knowledge, and unwavering support.

Highly Recommend Thalia – An Amazing Birth Doula! I had the absolute privilege of having Thalia as my birth doula, and I cannot recommend her enough! Despite being based in Houston, TX, she traveled all the way to Los Angeles to support me during my birth, and her presence made all the difference. From our very first consultation, I knew I was in good hands. Thalia was incredibly knowledgeable, compassionate, and attentive to my needs, both emotionally and physically. She took the time to understand my birth preferences and offered valuable support and guidance every step of the way. My name is Laporcha Foster most people call me LaLa. I am from Houston, Texas and I am a mother to 4 beautiful souls (3 girls and 1 boy). I am a traveling birth/postpartum doula who is also an end of life doula (helping others transition over to the after life). I became a doula after realizing nursing school wasn’t for me. I wanted to be a L&D nurse then a Nurse Practitioner so I could deliver babies. One day I was talking to my spiritual coach who told me my ancestors told her I was a medicine healing lady, and my life purpose was to be a midwife. I never thought to be one even though I heard so many people talked about having midwives and doula when I was pregnant with my son. I decided to do some research and I fell in love with the results and became a certified trained birth/postpartum doula through Madriella Doula Network. Being other women and families support system is my top priority. Rather it’s in a home, birthing center, or hospital I’m there! I am now attending a midwifery program at Midwives College of Utah (MCU) and trusting the process of this new journey. I look forward to meeting with you and vibing off good and positive energy. Peace and blessings!

Having Ms.Foster as my doula was truly life changing and amazing. She became my sister overnight literally; she came in with so much love, kindness and joy for what she's set out to do. Her light coming in helped me TRULY calm down and start enjoying my pregnancy experience. I truly recommend any and everyone to definitely have Ms. Foster for their doula.
