As the eldest of four siblings and 16 grandchildren, I grew up surrounded by babies, witnessing the magic of new life, and developing a deep-rooted sense of awe and normalcy around the birthing process. The births of my own children lit a spark in me, and that spark grew into a calling. I became a doula and gained extensive experience supporting families birthing in homes, birth centers, and hospitals across Los Angeles. Over time, my passion for this sacred work deepened, and I felt the undeniable pull to expand my knowledge and commitment to birthing families by becoming a midwife. I have always been fascinated and humbled by the birthing process since working at a Maternity Hospital in Nepal many years ago, when I was a medical student in the UK.
