Taylor Jefferson

7 years of experience

My name is Taylor Jefferson, and I’m a Certified Birth and Postpartum Doula through DONA International, a Certified Childbirth Educator, Lactation Educator, and Spinning Babies® Parent Educator serving the Greater Houston area. But more than anything, I’m a passionate advocate for safe, equitable, and empowering birth and postpartum experiences for all families—especially those who have historically been overlooked or underserved in maternal care. With over 21 years of hands-on experience in healthcare—spanning Pediatrics and Family Medicine—and the last 6 years dedicated fully to birth work, I bring a unique blend of clinical insight, heartfelt support, and culturally sensitive care to every family I serve. I’m also trained in perinatal maternal mental health, so I show up ready to support the whole you—emotionally, physically, and spiritually. I believe birth is not only sacred—it’s transformative. My approach centers on collaborative, education-driven care so that you feel truly informed and confident in every decision. No two birth or postpartum journeys are ever the same, and that’s the beauty of it. Let’s create a nurturing space where your voice is honored, your choices respected, and your body is supported in doing what it was made to do. I would be honored to walk beside you as your little one makes their way into this world. Let’s bloom through birth & postpartum—together.

We had the pleasure of having Taylor as our Doula for our first born! Taylor was both supportive & provided essential childbirth education prior to my wife being in labor. This helped us know what to expect & what red flags to look out for. During labor, we truly do not know how we would’ve done it with out her. When labor began to intensify she stepped into action to make sure my wife was as comfortable as possible through different stretches, massages, and comforting words. Over the past few months Taylor was more than a doula, she truly felt as part of the family and felt like a critical part of our birthing team at the hospital. I couldn’t recommend her more and we plan on using her for all our future births!

I had a great experience with Dana as my doula. We didn't meet until the end of my third trimester because I decided I needed a doula at the last minute. Dana listened to all my concerns about the care I received, and even attended one of my last OB appointments. I felt that she was well informed about pregnancy and labor. I enjoyed going over my birth plan with Dana because she explained everything line by line. I went into labor prematurely at 36 weeks and Dana didn't panic. She came to the delivery room and I feel like everything moved fast. She set up music like I wanted, dimmed the lights, and helped my husband with positions. I was able to have a vaginal birth with no epidural like I wanted. This meant so much to me because the specialist I was seeing told me I would have to be induced and have a c-section. Dana made me feel supported and helped me feel calm during labor. I was able to make informed decisions about my care and not feel anxious going into labor. Even after the delivery, Dana got food for me and my husband and checked on us until we all went home. Our post-partum visit at home went well and Dana was able to get my baby to latch. I had a positive experience for my first birth, and I would recommend Dana to anyone looking for a doula.

Hello, I'm a queer and trans full-spectrum doula working in Houston, TX. Full-spectrum means that I am trained and experienced in supporting families through the whole range of pregnancy experiences, including trying to conceive, pregnancy, labor, postpartum, pregnancy loss, and/or abortion. All of my work is grounded in supporting folks in creating the families they want, when they want to, and how they want to. This looks like: accompanying you through the many decision points in your pregnancy and parenting journey, providing emotional and logistical care throughout this time of great transformation, and making sure you are connected to the resources you need to make the best decisions for yourself and your family.

Recent review

We didn’t know we needed Chloe until we met her. It wasn’t until very late into my pregnancy, sometime around week 38, that we reached out to her for post-partum doula services and she was very flexible in accommodating us. As soon as we met her, we knew she was the person who would be now part of our journey as first-time parents. She was caring, attentive, listened to our concerns, and graciously supported us through every transition. I had a complicated delivery and recovery, and her calming and reassuring presence allowed me to heal as my husband and I learned how to care for our newborn. She was very flexible in creating a schedule that adapted to our needs week by week, and always brought nourishing food, sometimes bringing extra for other family members. Looking back, the early weeks of post-partum were extremely difficult mentally and physically since I had undergone a C-section, but her support was essential in getting us organized, learning how to prepare bottles, showing us positions to feed the baby, techniques for soothing, how to baby-wear, how to handle visitors and protect our boundaries, guiding my husband on how to be a helpful partner, and even be a crying shoulder when things got tough. Beyond being a doula, she’s also helped us with some babysitting now that our baby is older. It is comforting to know that our baby is cared for by someone who met our baby from birth and was familiar with our home dynamics. Hands down, she is our #1 option when we need someone to take care of our baby so we can have time for self care - which is also something she emphasized since day 1. If this was a voice message, it would consist of 10-15 minutes of nothing but good stories and praises for her - so this is our short and sweet version. We cannot recommend Chloe enough as a doula. She’s the best!

Hi there! I’m a Certified Lactation Counselor and currently training to be a Birth Doula under CBI. My approach is holistic but realistic — I look at the whole picture while meeting you exactly where you are. As part of my services, I support families prenatally and postpartum. This includes: Prenatal sessions to discuss your birth goals and history, cover birth education, and practice mental and physical exercises tailored to you. Birth support, including attending your birth and assisting with your first nursing session. Postpartum support at home as a Lactation Counselor to help with breastfeeding and adjustment. I’d love the opportunity to support you on this

Recent review

Hanna was my doula for the birth of my second child and I can’t say enough good things about her. She took the time to listen to my history, my goals, anxieties/worries, as well as my expectations of her as my doula. During our meetings, she always provided lots of helpful information regarding exercises that can help my discomforts during pregnancy, meditation, labor positions, ways my husband can help me throughout pregnancy as well as during contractions, etc. All of this helped me prepare mentally, physically and emotionally for the big day. Most importantly, her calm and grounding presence and the emotional support she provided during labor was so helpful in keeping me and my husband stay focused and motivated while feeling safe and supported. Thanks to Hanna, I had a very positive birth experience and I was able to give birth to a healthy baby girl! She continues to follow up with me regarding breastfeeding which is helpful. Hanna truly cares about her clients I would without a doubt recommend her to anyone looking for a doula!

I hired Aniya as my labor photographer for my birth earlier this month, and she was an absolute pleasure to work with. This was my first baby and I was thrilled to have someone like her by my side. Although she was just my photographer, she truly went above and beyond during my last few weeks of pregnancy. She checked up on me, gave me advice, and helped ease my nerves a ton. During my actual labor, she was responsive and ready to come to the hospital even in the dead of night. She arrived when I was about 7cm dilated. I was in complete labor land and didn’t manage to say a single word to her, but she got right to work. She wasn’t in the way of anyone or anything, and got SO many beautiful shots. I feel so blessed to have these moments captured forever. This was one of the best decisions I could have made!

Shakira was truly the most attentive, involved and helpful person through my pregnancy and birthing journey. I only wish we had more time with her through the process and didn’t find her so late in y pregnancy. After waiting and passing my babies initial birth date, Shakira worked with me and got my water to brea and the labor going. I went through labor at the birth center and she was literally with me every step just as exhausted and then I was transferred to the hospital where she continued to assist through my labor and birthing up until I needed to have a c section. This is my first baby and I went through so many obstacles and mostly the opposite of everything I wanted to happen but can say that Shakira was one of the best parts. I’d 100% suggest you trust her to help you through this journey. If I were to have another child, I would deff be giving her a call. 🩷

When I found out I was pregnant I knew absolutely nothing about pregnancy or giving birth, but Elissa gave me all the information and support I needed to feel confident and ready. Through our meetings and conversations throughout my pregnancy I felt so at ease knowing I had her In my corner. She's extremely knowledgeable, comforting, and reliable. She came to my house to help me through early stages of labor, and eventually met me at the hospital. She set up my hospital room for me to create such a peaceful space, and made sure my care team knew my birth plan. It made all the difference knowing she would be my advocate, so I was able to focus solely on myself and getting through labor. She helped me through every round of contractions, and to this day I can still hear her voice reminding me of my strength. She visited me a few weeks after giving birth, and I knew if I had any questions I could always go to her. I am so thankful for her, and I would 100% recommend her to anyone and everyone.

Helping women work with their bodies and learn how strong they are during childbirth is my most treasured role so far in this lifetime. During your labor and delivery, I will serve as a voice of experience, help you with relaxation so you can work with your body during the labor process, advise you on different labor positions, and offer non-medical pain management techniques. Hiring Kim was one of the best decisions we made while I was pregnant! We initially hesitated on hiring a doula since I wouldn’t be getting maternity pay for very long (and babies are expensive!), but looking back it’s hard to imagine Kim not being a part of our birth. My husband and I moved to College Station less than a year ago. While my family was planning on traveling to see us from out of state the week of our due date, baby decided to arrive 3 weeks early! Kim supported me through some arduous pitocin contractions, helped us advocate for our wishes, and kept my husband hydrated, caffeinated, and fed, which enabled him to best support me. Before the more painful contractions started my husband was even able to run home to grab more hospital bag items and let our dog out, and I’m so happy Kim was there with me so I didn’t have to be on my own as there were quite a few unexpected decisions to make due to the early arrival. I would recommend Kim in a heartbeat! She’s also a great massage therapist. Baby’s early arrival thwarted me scheduling another prenatal massage — will have to schedule a postpartum one soon :)

Hi, my name is Katherine Ellis and I am a Birth Bootcamp certified birth and postpartum doula! Birth is a beautiful process that I believe is meant to be celebrated and embraced. I adore working with my moms and helping create an environment where they feel empowered & in charge of their pregnancy and labor. I believe education removes fear, and I love getting to walk alongside of my moms and families throughout pregnancy and labor answering questions, being an advocate, supporting them mentally, physically, emotionally, and being a place where they can feel comfortable enough to embrace the new chapter. I truly love what I do and would love to discuss any questions you may have about services I offer. Whether you’re a first time mom or an experienced mother who just wants a different experience, I would love to be here for you & to support you through such a milestone of life. Birth belongs to women—not doctors, not nurses, not doulas or OBs, and I’m here to help create a place where you can have the birth you dream of! Postpartum also has a special place in my heart. This time is all about rest, nourishment, and recovery. I am here to make sure that you are taken care of, your house is in order, and you and your little baby are bonding! I am happy to wash bottles, pump parts, help prepare meals and snacks, perform light housework, or just take care of your baby while you rest! It is completely up to you and your needs.
