The cost of a midwife in Twin Falls, ID can be influenced by several factors:

  • Type of Midwife

Certified Nurse-Midwives (CNMs) who work in hospital settings may have different pricing than Certified Professional Midwives (CPMs) who attend home births or birth center deliveries.

  • Birth Setting

Hospital births with a midwife typically cost less out-of-pocket when covered by insurance, while home births and birth center deliveries may have different fee structures.

  • Scope of Services

Many midwives offer comprehensive packages that include prenatal visits, labor and delivery support, and postpartum care, which can affect the overall cost.

  • Insurance Coverage

Whether insurance covers the cost of a midwife in Twin Falls, ID, depends on your specific insurance plan and the midwife’s credentials. Many insurance plans provide coverage for midwifery services, especially if the midwife is a certified nurse-midwife (CNM) and works within a hospital or clinic network. Coverage may also depend on whether the midwife is in-network and the type of care being provided (e.g., prenatal, delivery, or postpartum care). You should contact your insurance provider directly to confirm coverage details, including co-pays, deductibles, and any out-of-pocket costs.

  • Experience and Specialization

Midwives with extensive experience, additional certifications, or specializations such as VBAC support or water birth may charge higher rates.

  • Geographic Location

Midwifery costs can vary based on the cost of living and demand for midwifery services in your specific area.

When considering hiring a midwife in Twin Falls, ID, it's advisable to research and interview several midwives to find one who aligns with your birth plan, preferences, and budget. Congratulations on this exciting journey! Welcoming a new baby changes your life. Whether this is your first or fifth, I want you to feel informed, empowered, and confident in your choices. I’m a birth and postpartum doula based in Pocatello, Idaho, serving families throughout the surrounding areas. My goal is to nurture and support you through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum so you never feel alone. I believe birth is a normal physiological process and not a medical event. Every family deserves to feel safe, respected, and heard. Birth is meant to be intimate and sacred, but our current care system often overlooks that. I want to help restore that sense of trust and connection. My journey into birth work began with my own path to motherhood. My husband and I have five children — four girls and one boy — and we spent eight years raising our family in Utah before relocating to Pocatello in 2020. Becoming a mother has been the single most meaningful and transformative experience of my life — and also the hardest. From facing high-risk pregnancies, premature birth, feeding struggles, and NICU stays, I know how much it means to have someone by your side who listens, reassures, and nurtures you through it all. I’ve always felt called to this work as a way to honor the generations of women who came before me and to walk beside those navigating this vulnerable, powerful time. It’s a sacred honor to be invited into the inner circle of a birthing woman and hold space as she brings new life into the world and as she is born into motherhood. Professionally, I hold a Bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Utah. I trained with DONA International and am cross-certified with ProDoula as both a Birth and Postpartum Doula. My approach blends evidence-based education with heartfelt, personalized care so that every family feels empowered, nurtured, and supported. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of supporting families through a wide range of experiences, including: Unmedicated and medicated births Inductions and high-risk pregnancies Plus-sized pregnancy NICU stays and premature birth Pregnancy after loss, adoption, and surrogacy Feeding challenges and postpartum mood disorders Because every family is unique, I offer customizable support packages to fit your specific needs. Payment plans are available, and I offer free consultations so we can connect and see if we’re the right fit. I would be honored to create a plan that works for you!

As soon as I became pregnant, I started looking for the best ways for support. After all this was my first pregnancy and I’ve heard from my sister how amazing her doula made her experience. I found Carli, at meet and greet event for doulas. She was the first person I met with that day, and I instantly felt that Carli should be MY doula. She was amazing!! She exudes confidence!! I knew she’d be a great support for me during labor and delivery, I just never fully understood until it happened. She spoke kindly, and empowering words towards me. When I felt scared or too tired to keep going she reminded me how far I’ve come and how close we were to meeting our little girl. She really never left my side. She was the ultimate support, constantly sending me positive energy and encouragement. Reminding me that I can do this. She comforted me, and guided my husband to feel confident in his role during labor and delivery. from teaching him counter- pressure techniques when I was in early labor, to educating us on hospital procedures to prepare us for the ideal birth experience. My favorite thing she said was “it’s temporary the feeling of discomfort is temporary, you’re so close to meeting your baby girl.” She captured precious moments, and put together the absolute best birth video that my husband and I will cherish forevermore. I’m so happy Carli was my doula throughout this entire experience, I can’t express enough how comforting and empowering having her by my side was, as I went through such a life changing experience.

Mariah Field

Hello and congratulations on your new little one! I’m Mariah Field, Certified Birth Doula and the owner of The Juniper Birth. I was born and raised in Idaho, and I am honored to walk alongside women as they embark on their journey into motherhood. My passion for birth work began when my son was born at home in April of 2022. Not long after, life took an unexpected turn when he needed a life-saving bone marrow transplant at just six months old. Then, in September of 2025, we faced the heartbreaking loss of our baby girl to the same condition. Those experiences changed me forever. They taught me so much about life, loss, compassion, advocacy, and the importance of trusting a mother’s intuition - lessons I carry with me into every birth space I enter. Bringing a baby into the world is one of the most sacred and transformative experiences a woman can have. My hope is that every family I work with feels supported, informed, and empowered to trust their bodies and their instincts every step of the way. I don't even know where to begin to explain how amazing it was working with Mariah. When we found out we were expecting our second baby we knew we wanted to have a home birth. Our first was born in a hospital without a doula, so I knew this would be a very different experience and I really wanted a doula to support me through my birth. I asked the midwife I was working with if she had any recommendations for doulas who would be a good fit for me, and she gave me a list of a few and Mariah was one of them. Which that in itself says a lot, I really trusted my midwife's judgment, so I reached out to Mariah, and we set up a consultation visit. I had a few other appointments set with different doulas but after meeting with Mariah I had to cancel them because I just knew I wanted to work with Mariah right away! My husband wasn't fully on board with hiring a doula as he didn't really understand what they helped with, but after our birth he was so happy that we hired Mariah to support us through such a beautiful home birth- and I know it felt that way largely because of how Mariah guided us through the entire birth. The night I went into labor I texted Mariah, and she came super quickly, she set everything up so beautifully for us, and helped me with different positions, different pain management techniques, and most importantly to me she helped guide my husband to support me as well. After birth Mariah made me a delicious meal, and made sure everything was set up for me to have a good and smooth postpartum experience. She is such a sweet and amazing human being- and not to mention her birth photography is amazing!!! I'd definitely recommend hiring her to photograph your birth as well as her being your doula- those are photos I will cherish for the rest of my life. Thank you so much Mariah- you were such a blessing to our birth experience, and now to our life.
