My passion increased after working in healthcare for over 20 years as a National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) and IV infusionist in busy Rheumatology and OB/GYN practices. I started my master’s program in 2014 and earned my degree in Health Education and Health Promotion in 2016. That same year, I become a Health Education Specialist with a focus in maternal and fetal health and human lactation. Shortly thereafter, with continued coursework, a Doula was born. I have been a Doula for family and friends for many years, so naturally I wanted to share this passion with other birthers in the world. I provide emotional, physical, informational and spiritual support to individuals and families throughout their pregnancy, childbirth, and early postpartum period. What drove me to become a doula is watching my sisters receive prenatal care that was concerning so I wanted to be apart of the change apart of affordable luxury care for families of different financial backings but receiving care that stands out. As a young child, I found my way to birth before I had language for it. At five years old, I was guiding my dolls through labor, sitting with them, speaking softly, staying close. I didn’t understand what I was doing then, but something in me already knew. There was a quiet pull toward women in this moment of becoming. As I grew older, that pull deepened. I became fascinated by the power held in pregnancy, birth, and the early days after. The way a body carries, protects, and nourishes life. The way a baby makes their way into the world. The way a mother changes forever once they meet. It felt sacred, ancient, and deeply familiar. I often imagined myself surrounded by ancestors and loved ones, witnessing prayers and dreams taking form as new life arrived. What followed birth felt just as powerful to me. Watching a mother soften and strengthen at the same time. Watching intuition awaken. Watching love root itself in ways that cannot be taught. Mothers and babies choosing one another. A love story that begins again and again. For years, I was visited by dreams. Women from all walks of life birthing their babies. In each dream, I was there. Holding hands. Offering comfort. Showing up in a way understood only by women and the spirits who have always walked with us. The dreams didn’t stop until I finally listened. I became a certified birth and postpartum doula and stood alongside more than two hundred families. I have been a sister, an aunt, a steady presence in moments of fear, release, and joy. I’ve wiped tears, celebrated feeding breakthroughs, and watched parents grow into themselves. To be clear, I don't possess any special power; I merely hold the flashlight as parents navigate and uncover their own. Beyond my work, I am a mother to three humans who shape me every day. My oldest is deeply nurturing, a true revolutionary who speaks with power and purpose. My son teaches me how to slow down and feel, how to think bigger, how to trust what feels impossible. And my youngest, known by her Ghanaian uncle as “The Queen Mother,” leads with her whole spirit. I provide the expectant parent(s) the support needed from the moment of conception until after birth. I am a Certified Birth Doula, Postpartum Doula, Newborn Care Specialist, Breastfeeding Counselor w/Advanced Lactation, Perinatal Nutrition Educator, Placenta Encapsulator, Baby Reflexologist, Reiki Master and Childbirth Educator.

Since 2015, I have served clients as a Birth and Postpartum Doula. In 2021, I became an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC). I have served over 80 clients having vaginal births after caesarean (VBAC)  planned/unplanned C-sections, vaginal medicated and unmedicated births. I assisted close to 150 families as a postpartum doula, helping them adjust to parenthood with daytime or nighttime visits. I love assisting at births but the greatest joy for me is postpartum work. Families are under prepared for the changes that come during the first 3 months after birth. Having a guide makes the 4th trimester much smoother.

Hi, I’m Brianna — a birth and postpartum doula completing my certification with DONA International. With a calling in my heart from a young age, my journey began when I attended Washington Adventist University to study BS nursing in 2013. Hi! I'm Jess. I've been a birth doula for over 2 years and have attended 30+ births. I came into this work having a doula myself and am lucky to call her my mentor. My approach is simple: I meet you where you are. I take the time to understand you and your family's priorities for your birth, and I offer as much (or as little!) education as you'd like. Sending along resources and recommendations tailored to what you need, when you need it. Getting ready together I offer a birth planning session where we walk through what to expect in early labor, once you arrive at your place of birth, and the options available to you during admission, pushing, newborn care, and the third stage. Depending on your desires, I can help advocate when something isn't standard practice, and I'll be right there watching for your preferences on the big day. I also offer an in-person prenatal session for you and your partner, where we go over comfort measures and gold-star labor positions (shoutout Spinning Babies!). As your due date gets closer, I help normalize and support those final weeks — encouraging rest, relaxation, and peace as you prepare to meet your baby. On the big day We're busy! I offer plenty of hands-on support — counter pressure, massage, and continued work on positions to help your baby descend. This is all with the support and collaboration of your care team which is important to create a calm, supportive envrionment. Please forgive my lack of a doula website as I have mostly been taking births through an agency.
